$1050? Holy …. Never move 😂
I have never had a wonderful godly woman in my life but listening to you talk about your husband and his role in your life reminded me what a priceless gift it is to have a partner who loves the lord. I confess I am a bit jealous. May the Lord bless you both.
I seldom read celebrity books, but I’d like to read Tom Felton’s book.
I’m so glad you like A Series of Unfortunate Events! It was my favorite series as a kid and still is. I love your niche which includes Christianity, conservatism, and a bit of A Series of Unfortunate Events ☺️
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I’m glad you’re here 🤗
I recommend three books: 12 rules for life by Jordan B Peterson Irresistible by Andy Stanley Love does by Bob Goff You may love them or have them. But they were all very impactful for me!
I've read Love Does and parts of 12 Rules for Life (I was listening to the audio book and it lapsed-oops) and really enjoyed both of them! I'll have to get Irresistible! Thanks for watching :)
@@TaylorRomero I’m a big audiobook fan! You came up on my “for you page” and I’m always looking for new books! And from a fellow Christian reader that doesn’t read exclusively Christian books. I like that! Thanks for the video!
I tried to read a David Sedaris book once. That didn't last long. It was one of the worst things I've read. I guess I didn't align with his type of humor. My opinion of cooking while Booktubing - There are a few people I follow on Booktube who occasionally do non-bookish videos and I like seeing them because I feel they are friends and I want to know what other things they do in life. About alcohol, Proverbs 23:29-35 provides some clarity. I haven't had alcohol in a few years now. I have had some while being a Christian as I don't think there's any hard and fast law against it for Christians, but I just don't feel a desire for it. I've never been heavy into alcohol, never been seriously drunk in any way. But while visiting family they like to pull out the expensive bottles of wine and then I'll have a little, but it really doesn't do anything for me and I don't drink it alone at home. I just consider myself lucky that it isn't something I want. I haven't decided yet what my favorite or least loved books were in 2023.
Thank you for this Biblical wisdom! AND of course, for watching 🤗 I may post a non-booky video every now and again in the New Year, but for now maybe I'll stick to what I know haha. I'll be excited to see what you decide are your best and worst books!
This year my favorite book was A Memory of Light by Robert Jordan.
I've heard such good things about this author!
Yooooo we’re back again with another video
I'm mostly here for books, but I like house/other stuff too. It's your channel, do what you like! Yegads, I am 30 years older than you. * cries *
Oh my goodness, I love that I have a more matured audience haha! The majority of my friends are a good 10 years older than me, with my friends from church being in their 60s and 70s! :)
Wait, the wokies have problematized keeping a clean/tidy house now?! Only W people can keep a clean house. The rest of us are oh-so-oppressed by W people that we can't help but be slobs. Don't blame us. Blame racism, sexism, oppression, yadda, yadda. That's hilarious! And insulting.
Great video!
Ant seen you on here in a while good to see you
It's good to be seen! Hopefully I'll be able to be a bit more consistent in 2024! :)
*Instead of you and your husband collecting all those bibles you should have just read the KJV because they were all supernaturally changed by the AC into his UNholy word and you just can't tell! Read Amos **8:11** then type in (proof of bible change residue junkie) AND BRACE YOURSELF!* *Or just ignore this like 99+% do and hear Jesus explain it at the Gate before sending you all on your way.* *P.S. After people have taken all of the required 💉's, they will apply a quantum dot invisible tattoo to their head or hand, but anyone who has had just one has a bluetooth mac # that can be read by any smart phone and when you walk through the deal at an airport they know if you have it. The no buying or selling is happening incrementally and will be complete when cash is abolished and worship can be defined as "to fear, obey and trust in someone or something" which is what they are doing with the Beast System and the Image of the Beast, (NWO and TV!). Yes, this absolutely is it, and👉 if you write me at the address on my about 👈page I'll send you 15 **_shocking_** films that will PROVE it to anyone who has the courage to watch them.*
💯❕
I’ve been using my NIV The Woman’s Study Bible when I do my studies, my CSB She Reads Truth for my daily devotions and SOAP study, I have a CSB compact Bible I was using for church but just purchased Candace Cameron Bure’s One Step Closer Bible to take to church instead since it was on sale. 😅 I was thinking I have too many, but I like the variety in translations for different things. ❤
Nice collection
Can u share ur spiritual books
Just found your channel it is a treasure to me. I am looking for more Conservative book review channels.
I have the same issue with contemporary books - I know exactly what you mean which is why I created my own strategy for clean reads - I did make a video about that not too long ago. I admire you so much for Booktubing while being a teacher! You have a busy life! I put your 2 food books in my TBR at Goodreads. Now I'm going to go look for your Goodreads account.
Adding - to answer your question about what I'm reading now: I'm reading 1776 by David McCullough and Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackery. I haven't been making videos this last month because (1) my new house is being built and I'm living in a construction zone (in a trailer) and am feeling unsettled, and (2) I have been having gall bladder attacks during the last month or two and just got surgery for that a week ago now. I will be back to making videos again soon, I hope.
I think you're being too nice with your ratings. One book you give 4 stars but then you say you wouldn't recommend it. Another book you give 5 stars but then you say "it just wasn't my favorite". It's okay to give a book 1 or 2 stars. 😀
I think you’re right 😂😂 I need to let myself be a bit more critical. I always think to myself, “why do I even rate books- I don’t know what makes a book good or not” 😂 Thanks so much for watching!
Food sounds interesting. I’ll have to check it out. Do you ever read cozy mysteries that are heavy on food descriptions and that include recipes at the end of the book? That’s my favorite kind of cozy mystery.
I haven’t, but it sounds wonderful! I’d love some recs!
“Neat freak but not a clean freak” so me lol…nice apt!
I love your bibles
I have the Jeremiah study bible in niv and the she reads truth bible
Nice beginning. ;-)
Hi Taylor, Im new to your channel. I enjoyed this video and your Bible collection video! I love how you are so free flowing and relaxed in your approach! It's not in me to be that way. I have reading plans, color coding charts, and a scheduled time to have my quiet time with a set make up time in case i can't keep to my set time. My Bible isn't beautiful, hopefully my next one will be beautifully highlighted and have well written, beautiful, neat writing. I have premium Bibles. They are readers. I only use journaling Bibles for annotation. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. God Bless!
Thank you so much for watching and leaving this kind comment! Honestly, I need to take some notes from YOU! I could definitely be more structured in my reading.
“A Bible that’s falling apart belongs to a person who isn’t.” - That’s what I have written in the front of any new Bible I get, every since I was in high school a million and a half years ago. ETA: This comment in reference to what you were saying at the beginning of the video. 😉
What an awesome reminder every time you open it up!
and where is the original Greek NT? Time wasted on English (!!) "translations"/"versions" is time lost from learning Greek. The sacred language of Christianity.
“A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.” ― Charles Spurgeon A marked up bible is a sign of an unblemished life?
I had to watch your video to see what you wrote about Between the World and Me. I read it a few years ago and remember it mostly as being incredibly boring and over-hyped. I just checked Goodreads and see I left it a very nice three-star review. I guess I was being generous. The book is written for the author's young son. I don't fit the demographic that this book was written for, but I gave it a try at least. ...About the Tucker Carlson book - this is the kind of book I never read. I don't read books by politicians, politicians wives, or political commentators. However! I do have a lot of respect for Tucker Carlson and have enjoyed watching his new videos on Twitter (except for episode 9, just published, which at 2 hours and 30 minutes was too long for my attention span - I got through about 30 minutes of the interview.) I think I agree with most of Tucker's views. Some political commentators manage to say things that hit me where it hurts, or that I just can't agree with, but I haven't had that experience with Tucker as far as I can remember. I'm sorry Fox News fired him... I think it was a big mistake and it has definitely made me re-think my news-tv viewing habits. I don't actually have a TV service - I've mainly seen Fox videos. I rarely watch them anymore and unsubscribed to the channel. I decided to invest money in some of the conservative news sites with private video archives like The Blaze, Epoch Times, and Daily Wire (my favorite right now.) I feel good about supporting their channels and not watching Fox, considering their current semi-liberal programming decisions. Also, I enjoy watching Mark Dice videos. And that's as political as I can get. I'm an independent voter and put Jesus (my true leader and King) first so I don't feel so good about getting giddy about supporting politicians. I will vote in the November election, but not in the primary.
I feel your frustrations with Fox News! I consume most of my news from The Daily Wire RUclips page, but should probably start supporting more financially.
@@TaylorRomero The Daily Wire has some good content behind their paywall - more than I can consume really. I've already disconnected from The Blaze because every Mark Levine video I watched was a pitch for his newest book. Also, Mark Levine (part owner) seems discouraged, and Glenn Beck also has an attitude ... not sure what to call it. I do respect their knowledge and careers, but decided to get my news from Daily Wire, for now. I kept my subscription to Epoch Times because of the California Insider program - I live in CA... just south of the Oregon border, and appreciate what they're doing as a news organization... plus it is a really inexpensive subscription cost.
I have been recently going through the Miss Marple books by Agatha Christie. Unsure if you have read them but would recommend since you like mysteries
I LOVE Agatha Christie! The only one I've read with Miss Marple is The Body in the Library, but I loved it! I'll need to read more of them soon! :)
Just found you and subscribed! I love videos like these and also your fun personality! My “go-to” bible is my NASB Artisan Collection Bible. I also have a NASB thats a higher end feel with a nice cover. I like my ESV and CSB study bibles but dont prefer it for my every day read. I absolutely love digging into different versions and commentaries to get a deeper meaning. I also love my NLT and NKJV small personal size bible as well. I’d like to get an NIV to have on hand too. And then of course my journal helps me so much.
Thank you so much for subscribing- and for the encouragement! :) I can sense your love for The Word! Thank you so much for watching!
🙌🙌Preach!!!💗💗💗 my sympathy about your grandpa.
Thank you 💕🥲

Cain,s sin was twofold...#1 he offered to God a bloodless sacrifice...#2 he murdered his brother...Abel....
Seriously? It would be much more meaningful and much more important if you actually knew WHY you like a particular translation and why some are better than others instead of rabbiting on about the pretty covers or whether or not the cover feels sticky and 'it doesn't matter which Bible we read'. Actually it does, it really really does, and NO I am NOT one of those KJV Only nutters. The Bible, any Bible, you hold in your hands is NOT the inspired Word of God. ONLY the original texts as written in the original languages by the original writers are the inspired, infallible Word of God. That is what most if not all of the Christian creeds and confessions have taught down through the centuries. Therefore the nearer to the original texts we can get, and the more faithful and accurate the translation, the closer to the true infallible Word we come. Any Translation, even the best and most accurate, is just that, a translation, and as such MUST include inaccuracies because not every Hebrew or Greek word has a direct English equivalent, and the translator(s) will have biases when it comes to choosing the best way to translate a word or phrase. That is before we get into the underlying philosophy of the translation, literal or dynamic. Look into this with your husband for yourselves, learn and then decide which translation or translations to use.
There's certainly reasons to keep to a single translation for better or worse. And some versions are better than others, with for example the NASB77/95, NKJV, MEV, ESV, KJV being better versions, NIV, CSB, NRSV and NLT being slightly worse, TEV/GNT and CEV a bit worse than that, The Message being poor and The Passion "Translation" to be avoided because the author claims special divine revelation.
The best translation is KJV. Yes the English is dated so the best modern translation is the MEV
Hi Taylor, I loved this video. I can soooo relate to your enthusiasm for the Bible. I love books, especially Bibles, and I know, of course, it's the words inside that matter most, but there is nothing like a beautiful cover, design, and artwork, that draws you in and makes you want to pick up your Bible and read it! It all helps towards the end goal which is to read and absorb the Word of God.
I’m so glad we’re on the same page 🤪 thank you so much for the love! Happy reading! 😁
Great video! What type of devotional was that you showed that was on the table?
I had to give a lot of my Bibles away, about 30 and still have more at home. I mostly gave my regular print and kept my Large Print. Gave them to a Church. not all the churches would take them.I’m almost 60 years old And I will never use all of them.
That’s great so many of them have new homes! What a blessing! 😁
Good for you! The price of bibles new and used in this era of inflation is insane! You have blessed 😇 someone greatly with your generosity! ❤😎
Awesome Bible collection! I'm glad to hear you and your husband are studying the Bible together. That's so precious. I will look at your annotation video too. One of these days I'll make a video about my Bibles. I have several. 😊❤📔
I can't wait to see the video you put out! :)
Hi Taylor! I have now found your channel too! I really enjoyed seeing all your Bibles. I think that’s wonderful that your dad gave your husband a Bible; what a beautiful gift. I have recently purchased a new Bible after years and years with my old one! It’s a journaling and colouring Bible which I have never owned before and I’m trying out colour coding in it too! Have you watched the RUclipsr Nicki Drake who has so many great videos on Bible study? I have just ordered one of her Verse Mapping workbooks 😊
My sister has her Bible color coded and it's so aesthetically pleasing! I wish I had the organization skills to do that haha! I haven't watched Nicki Drake but I just scribed! Thanks for the rec! :) So happy to have found each others channels!
Seen everything but the apartment.
Not all of us had/have childhood Bibles. My first Bible was given to me by my boyfriend. I had no idea what I was reading. I was 16. So is that considered a childhood Bible? But it was an adult Bible. You might be able to clean your light colored Bible with a wet Magic Eraser. I'd test a small section on the back and gently clean it. I've used Magic Erasers to clean so many books. But be careful, sometimes the color will come off if rubbed too hard. (or if the book is cheap quality). Recently I went through my Bibles and pulled one out, that I never use, and gave it to my grand-daughter. =) My daughter told me they were considering a journal Bible for my grand-daughter, so it was perfect timing. She was very pleased with it and colored the inside cover page I had started but didn't finish, while I was visiting. Your John book reminds me of my grandmother's Bible. I think it was in a fire. It smells like it. Even after all of these years. It's annotated a little bit, but has her dad's death certificate and her marriage info to my grandfather. My son and I are talking about his future wife. Some of his peers at college asked him about a girl. He said, yeah, she's okay, but it doesn't matter. They asked what he meant. He explained to them, I'm not looking for a wife right now. I have goals I need to accomplish first. And they said, we should probably do that too. Such a fun video. I really like what you said about your husband.
I'm so glad you mentioned this! I need to be reminded of how blessed I am to have been raised in a Christian home! I've always had family members who love the Lord and know how important it is to raise children to be followers of Christ. I still have my very first Bible at my parents house, one that was given to me/parents on the day of my dedication. Thank God for you boyfriend! No matter when/how you hear the gospel, it is a blessing! I think it's awesome that you could pass one of your Bibles down to your granddaughter. As I said in the video, the actual book isn't important in the act of reading the Word of God, but it is nice to have the memories tied to it! I'm sure she'll cherish it forever. I thank God every day for the husband He has given me. I got married at 21, and while I know it was young, and it's not for everyone, I couldn't be happier achieving my goals/making new ones with my husband. My husband on the other hand was 26 when we got married, which I think was the right timing for him. God always sets up the right timing for everything! I think it's awesome you and your son are talking about his future wife! And, awesome that his wisdom is rubbing off on some of his friends! :)
awww i got a lil shout out :,) i love my bible reading bestie <3
Omg you’re the best! Thanks for being such an amazing example of a Christ-like woman! 💕
My husband and I have been reading the Bible chronologically then watching The Bible Recap video here on RUclips. You can get the reading plan from their website (it's free). I highly recommend it. It's not too late to start. We read and watch separately then discuss.
I’ll have to check it out! Thanks for the recommendation! 😄
Bible Recap and videos from Bible Project are very informative and very good.
The Bible you got your husband for six months is so sweet. I know I have two go-to bibles; the first is a Ryrie Study Bible by Charles R. Ryrie, a NASB (my favorite translation), and the other is a Holeman study bible called the Student Apologetics Study Bible. I love my Apologetics Study Bible because they have notes about verses taken out of context and articles that discuss topics with a biblical lens.
I’ve been wanting an apologetics Bible! It’s so important for us to understand how to defend our faith and know WHY we believe WHAT we believe! I’ll take a look at the Holeman version. Thanks for watching! 😁
My uncles preached from NASB Ryries.
@@TaylorRomero A really good one is the Fisher of Men bible, also from Holman.
OH that's it. We're going to have to revoke your booktube status. 🤣 Life happens and I love that your life is so full of joy. People could take lessons. 🤗 One of my goals this year is to memorize more of God's word, since it is our sword in the armour of God and not many Christians read the Bible let alone memorize. I'm hoping to get people inspired. I heard so many Christians go into the new year wanting to read the Bible, get deflated and stop in Leviticus. =( May you and your family have a blessed year. P.S. Could you please pray for my family to find a Bible enriching church? We've been looking for one since 2018 and the churches around us fall flat. Seriously weak. We're probably going to move next year and I have faith God will give us a place to fellowship when we move. =)
You are too funny 😂 thank you for your kind words and encouragement! I also want to make an effort to memorize scripture! I’m always in awe when my grandparents can rattle off the perfect verse for every occasion. Unfortunately, I usually just applaud them without making an effort to have the same word in my heart. My sister gave me a flip book to start writing verses in that I can carry around fairly easily with me to get started. Thank you for shari g your prayer request with me- I will definitely be praying! Finding a fitting church can be difficult, especially in the end times when more false prophets are going to enter the scene. I pray your family finds a home and a community that enhances your walk with Christ! In the meantime, thank you for being a part of mine! 😁
@@TaylorRomero ditto all that. Thank you Taylor.
