I had that same pair of black and white avatars back in 6th grade. Some of the best shoes I ever skated in. Wish DC would re-release both the manteca and avatars and keep them in the line, right up there with the lynx in my opinion.
I love the Avatar - one of the few DC shoes I'm hyped on. The red/black reminds me of Ryan Smith.

That sux your Axions didn't come in and are lost! I just got an email yesterday saying that the Black Legacies i copped have something wrong with them, and they caught the issue before sending them out and have to have them completely remade before they can ship them so my order is going to be significantly delayed! On one hand I tip my hat to Axion for catching the defect and fixing it before sending them out. On the other hand I'm wondering why the shoes I pre-ordered almost a month ago are just now being checked out and seen to be defective. So that now I'm gonna end waiting almost two months for them, it's a bit ridiculous. I'm trying not to be mad at Axion but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit salty over the situation.
wow i completely forgot about the avatars, i had 2 pairs at least, basically the same as a manteca, just a lil heavier and hotter on the feet, but also nicer in the winter months. legendary shoes for sure. wish they would bring it back.

Expecting my Axions to arrive as well, but I assume it'll take a while longer since I'm not in the USA.
Always liked the Avatar more than the Manteca since it has the rubber lace guard and strap. My first pair of DC shoes were the Colin Mckay “Griffin” which is also similar to the Avatar.
So hyped for you to get your Axions in! I just got mine today, and holy shit did they deliver. Better than I thought it would be, honestly wish I bought more than 1 pair now

I've been looking for this colorway or even the same model of Manteca with the four lace holes at the top and I've found nothing, is it just older? all the new models only have one lace hole and in general are way uglier in my opinion
