  • [VLOG DAY 4 OF OUR ADVENTURE]. September 2022, Melissa and her daughter took an 11 day motorcycle trip.
What was wrong with Melissa's Motorcycle? Find out in this video. It is Day 4 of Melissa's Mother Daughter Motorcycle Adventure and she starts the day waiting on a phone call confirming that a tow truck will arrive at Ironhorse to pick her trike up and take it to Smoky Mountain Harley Davidson for service. She learns a few lessons about Road Side Assistance and will share that with you in this video.
Plans have changed and will not include the usual trip up the Blue Ridge Parkway. As she leaves Ironhorse and heads to Marysville TN it still remains to be seen if she will get to Little Switzerland NC and the Big Lynn Lodge as planned.
Will there be a ride in this video? Please check it out.
Check out other adventures of this trip. See PLAYLIST: MOTHER DAUGHTER MOTORCYCLE ADVENTURE SERIES. You will find vlog day 1, 2 and 3. Plus, you will see a detailed video on the Moonshiner Hwy 28.
TOWING COMPANY: C&M Motorcycle Towing Company, Marysville TN.

Melissa! So glad you got fixed up and back on the road. So much technology that a normal person can no longer make repairs. I was a truck driver for 40 yrs and could usually fix my truck at least enough to get home. Now you have to set on the road and wait for help cause it could be anything and i don't have a 5 thousand dollar computer to tell me the problem. Your daughter
    is a real die hard. She's a keeper. 🙋‍💪................................... 😎👍👍

Yes she is. We love our adventures. Thanks so much for watching. I hope you have a great week. It also helps that she can sit in the back and just sing along. She was not at all concerned about the dark unfamiliar Roads at night. LOL. Plus instead of walking around she relaxed and slept in the chair in the Harley shop.

We stayed at Big Lynn in June, massive front came in, they were talking about major flooding so we left before we got stuck there. Water was literally sheeting off the mountain coming down 226A into Marion. Marion had probably 3"-4" of water on the roads, we finally got in front of the weather heading east. A trip we will never forget.

Very interesting video. We do not even have roadside assistance, knowing what a pain they are. We just simply if needed, call a local tow truck and pay them. It seems to work out better anyway and really quick service.

I think that was my favorite video so far in this series. So glad it all worked out for you. And yes, God is good. I have found through the course of my life, he always provides. Although there were many things I loved about this video, one of my favorites were the pictures of you "riding" the Dragon. It just gave me such a belly laugh when I saw it. Good times! And Melissa, you are a very brave and courageous woman, riding and pushing on that day to get to the hotel, even though you were tired, it was dark, cold and you were on unfamiliar roads. That is what sets women like us apart and helps to inspire others. We can do hard things and we DO!!!! This is the whole concept of being a Moto B.R.A.T.........Brave, Resilient, Adventurous, and Tenacious. You are such a great example of a Moto B.R.A.T.! Glad it all worked out and looking forward to the next! Great video all around!

Glad they got you all back on the road. I recently had a map sensor come loose on the CVO throttle body. It still ran ok but was throwing codes and causing the check engine light to illuminate. In TN Truckers are getting charged $14,000.00 to Escort a Truck and Trailer 25 miles. Then they Impound your Equipment until you pay the Bill. One Trucker got help from a Politician and the Police and the Police helped him get his Truck back after being impounded for over 1 month. That's a Month of Lost income.

It's amazing how we can load our motorcycles and trikes when we need them hauled. I know when we load ours into the toy hauler I get nervous too. LOVE that you wear a 3 in 1 Pilot, I wear that too on occasion, just love it. You missed heading South to do the US 129 and that dragon ride. Cherahola....such nice rides. I pay for HOG membership so my towing comes first from HD always and straight to the nearest dealership. I am glad it all worked out for you. Great video love you are touring with your daughter. I have DairyLand insurance which is part of Sentry whom works with Harley Davidson. If I can recall the Towing only covered up to 50 miles. My thinking is that if I am within 50 miles from home I will Rescue myself.
Now that I think about it, that would mean they would travel up to 50 miles to pick you up and take you to a Dealer or repair shop ect. Makes a little more sense that way. All the same I cancelled it as I thought it was not very good Coverage.

@@MidLifeStyleTwins I have DairyLand and I think it said 50 miles. I road down to Tail of the Dragon last summer from Michigan .. I lost my only Ignition key at 1:00 AM in the morning at a gas station. It had fallen out of my pocket when I pulled out some change at the counter and it fell into the Patatoe chip display. Very small bags.
I traced back all of my steps around the store and the bathroom . I told the gas station clerk that it was on a Blue key chain. After about 15 minutes she found it. Customers often drop things in that spot. I offered her $40.00 reward and she would not take anything. $40.00 is far cheaper than any Towing Bill. I joined H.O.G. This year bought a 2008 Buell last summer.

@@mikeskidmore6754 Yes, $40 reward would have been worth it to me as well. Glad it was recovered. I really wish Harley would provide more than 1 fob for the motorcycles. I am ordering an extra one. I also have my pin set on my motorcycle.

So I’m 63 years old and still on two wheels. Who knows how many years I have left? Only God knows.
I ride a Harley Street Glide Special, and a Honda Goldwing.
I’ve been told that the Harley three wheel cycle turns easier than the Goldwing three wheelers. Do you have any thoughts on this?
