We are about to set out on our biggest adventure yet! Here’s the plan…living and traveling full time on our motorcycles (and trailer). In this prequel we circle back to the past to bring you up to speed…WHY we decided to make this transition (in our 50’s no less!) and HOW we accomplished the 101 things that needed to be done before hitting the road. And this was all done during a PANDEMIC! When less means more - what does that even mean? Well, we’re about to find out. We quit our jobs, sold our 2500 sq. ft. house and now live out of a 21 cu. ft. motorcycle trailer. We hope you join us on this crazy adventure! We not entirely sure what we’re doing… but, we’re going to do it anyway… and, we’re going to do it together!

No you are not crazy living a better life then a lot of people. I would like to live somewhere off the grid and have a wood stove.
Yes off grid. We are going to try and do more Bookdocking next season. Thanks Kyle.
I have a grea5t place and I'd throw in a great wood stove.
i guess Im asking randomly but does any of you know a way to log back into an Instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Ahmir Jaxen instablaster =)
@Krew Avi Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
This is awesome. I've seen couples that reach the empty nest, retire and one just wants to sit on the couch and do nothing and the other wants to start a new chapter of living life. Glad to see that you both are on board with your decisions.
So true!
Your relationship is beautiful. I've been very skeptical of marriage recently, but you two make an adorable argument for sticking together. Best of luck on your travels.
Must have been fate finding you guys,my wife and I are both in our early 60's and have been thinking about doing the exact same thing.Lot's of helpful tips.TY
You are welcome Henry. We are learning so much. Glad we can share.
Found you through "As the Magpie Fly's", thanks Amanda! I am 76 and still love riding and recently decided to do some moto camping, you inspire me to follow through with things while I can! Thanks for sharing your story & life.
PS It is amazing after fixing up the house that you are still together - some accomplishment! :-)
Thanks we are so glad to be a inspiration. After 30years of marriage, I guess she’s gonna keep me. 🤣🤣
Hi Rich and Chris, You guys are inspirational! As a 60+ and riding bikes forever I have always thought about that really BIG trip. I too have only just discovered your videos, but you have reminded me that it is still not too late. Above all, when I watch your adventure it makes me feel happy. Only just reached your explanation of selling up and hitting the road (during Covid-19) so I have a lot of catching up to do. Stay safe and 'between the hedges'.
Thanks for watching Arthur really appreciate it.
We gave up our Trophy Club Texas life to live in the mountains of Colorado . Love our life now!!
So much information, but, shown and told very well. You guys do such a great job. I always enjoy watching. God Bless ya'll, and be safe.
Thank you the kind words. We really appreciate it. Cheers.
Stumbled across your channel and really love it. Keep it up and good luck on your travels. I will keep tuning in!!
Thanks David
Enjoy your videos so much it’s inspiring me to do some adventures myself. In the meantime we live vicariously through your two wheels big life!
Go for it! Thanks for being part of our adventures

You guys are an inspiration! Having a house to maintain is absolutely drudgery. I sold mine last fall and will be on the road in my RV this spring. Her choice of bikes, BMW, is certainly superior to the Harley. I have owned both and never will I have another Harley.
Thanks but we sold everything April 22 2020 and are on the road 👍👍
Hope you enjoy your journey.
Ive been at it fulltime 15 yrs.
Aint no rainbow out here.
Be prepaired for the unexpected.. they will happen.
6 mths is not fulltime.
Just a tease of whats to come.
Oh yeah we have found that out. It’s still the best way to live !!

I've been watching your adventures for the last 4 days. Thank you for sharing, and teaching an old dog a couple new tricks. ie: your cooler upgrade, and the Stanley Coffee maker. Lol
Awesome. I like it when Old Dogs like ourselves learn new things. Cheers.
What a fun adventure. You guys do such a nice job with your videos. Living the dream! 🙂👍
Thanks so much! 😊
Learned about you on "As the Magpie Fly's" so just getting 'acquainted' with your videos. Very interesting and inspirational!
Thanks Carl.
I like the way you list all the options for educational purposes.
Thanks. Appreciate that !
I really like what you’re doing, have watched several of your vids and all are well shot/edited and interesting. Chris is just too cute, and with a bubbly spirit too boot!
Thanks Roger !
It seems like a second tailer would go a long long way in terms of gear.
Excellent philosophy on life and biking
Thanks.
Some great info, thanks guys. Happy Trails
Great video. Very helpful and pragmatic. Ride safe.
Thank you kindly!
Hi guys, I'm a 40-ish years rider myself, but I never did a 5.5k miles ride... My longest ride was a Seattle to Orlando in seven days, West coast down and up and thins like this... Europe all around (I'm originally from Germany), there is barely a place I haven't been at, but Europe is small compared to the US, as far as riding goes... Now to why I'm writing this... You don't look like the youngest anymore, nor do I , but I'm in an athletic shape, people would say... I don't need medical attention, I don't carry drugs of all kinds and I can still move freely; this being said, there are things which can get uncomfortable on long rides, like the butt might not like it a lot, hands (controls) no longer feel like in the twenties... You might have a late reaction to a traffic situation which would put you out temporarily, you might want a bit of pleasure (well deserved at this age), relax and enjoy coziness... Are you really sure this is the best way for spending what time is left ahead of you? I mean, if you do it, it's clear to me that that's what you think... But still... In any case, stay safe, keep your rubber on the ground and have all the fun you can!
This ride is way better than a rocking chair.
@@TwoWheelsBigLife I wish you all the best and remember that no one spends the time you are going to spend on your bikes, on any rocking chair :)...
And I just hope to learn how to fish again!
Great Lots of information, just what I've been looking for! Thank you for sharing 👍🏍Saving video to recap & review "my check list" later too Ride safe and enjoy the adventure!

Awesome ! Im humbled at these kind of comments. Cheers !
I heard you guys mention Denton Texas is being close to where you used to live, I used to live in Duncanville Texas , did you live anywhere near there?
We did live in Denton. In fact Ms Alice my HD was purchased from a dentist in Duncanville
Ooo !
Look at WHOs become #1 on my YT screen !
.
Excellent information! What a massive undertaking ! Gutsy but great ! It’s amazing how much work our houses need after life times lived in them before we sell. That step is coming for me as well. Did you reclaim all the money from the restoration in the sale ? That’s the trepidation of it ! Thanks 🙏🏽
Yes we for sure got our money back out of the remodel. I did a lot myself but worth it for sure.
I'm considering it. It seems to me it could cost more to live at campsites than it does paying a house payment! 1000 bucks for a month stay at a camp site. I'd like to run from cold weather and spend a few months in Arizona or south florida in the winter but damn it's high ! I'm 36, single, and debt free. I could sell my house and put 200k in my pocket. But I'm afraid I would blow through it trying to live in campsites
We agree with you on living at campsites. However National Forest campsites are much much cheaper and dispersed or Free camping that’s the best. Also Florida and AZ campground in the winter are the most expensive. There season in November to February. Where Colorado peak is Labor Day to Memorial Day.
I love your videos! Best wishes to you both.
Thanks. We are glad you are watching for sure.
Pretty cool story. I have always wanted to have enough money to travel where ever we want, either on the bike or buy a trailer. For us though, we need to keep working. And I'm not sure I would sell the house. But wow, you had a dream and made it happen! So cool! Also, the way you were laughing together taking the cat to her new home reminds me of how well my wife and I get along. Very happy for you!
"your worst case scenario is everybody elses everyday life" 🤩
Awesome I'm also wanting to do this . Just sold my house but still working 😒
Go for it!
Kind of scary, parting will all your stuff like that and becoming nomads. A bold move indeed. I couldn't do it, too chicken. But yay for you. There's a guy who's been living on his motorcycle for 25 years and makes You Tube videos about his adventures. His name is Scooter Tramp Scotty. Check out his videos: ruclips.net/user/scottykerekes
Great videos
Thanks. Really appreciate the comments.
One of my favorite vids from y'all. Great planning. Great innovations. Especially great team work. You two rock.
hello! magpie sent me
Awesome ! Thanks.
Cool video, I look forward to following your adventures. Best of luck on the road.
Thanks Scott. We gonna do our best.
"... until we told our family"...
I hear you. My uncle thinks what I'm planning is a joke and my mother doesn't want me to leave (or is it "live"?) although she won't say it openly.
I'm going anyway. This October at the latest.
Our Kids have bets on how long we’ll last. 🤣🤣
@@TwoWheelsBigLife I'd bet they're going to lose 😜
I was thinking of living off a motorcycle on the road and seeing America. I'm single and retired and living on SSI. Would you try to talk me out of it or encourage such a venture?
Do it
Have you 2 ever contacted Scooter tramp scotty here on RUclips or his website. Hes been living off his Harley full time since 94 and definitely has a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge about selling everything and being a nomadic person
We do follow him. We have met Joey Rader and Chip Parisi. Scotty is on the bucket list.
@@TwoWheelsBigLife hes definitely someone who I'd like to hangout with and ride with
Your a lucky man. My wife hates riding 😏
Thank You sir.
Get a new one. Life is to short
Very interesting. Boy - I'm there with you, kinda. I so want to take my bike and travel for a while. I'm just not sure I want to make a life of it. What are your thoughts about your decision(s) to live the way you're currently living, now? Any 'Iron Butts' about your taking to the road? I'm going to follow your journey for a while.
No Iron Butt. It’s not the easiest way to travel and we are learning something new every day. Thanks for following us.
Ugh. I’m just at the point where I’m trying to repair my house and sell off everything I can. About to repaint the whole house and post all my furniture and electronics online for sale. Did you still occupy your house while it was on the market?
We know the feeling. Stay with it. It’s worth it. And Yes we lived in the house for the showings. Thank goodness it sold Extremely fast.
สวัสดี ครับ 😘😘😗
Nice BMW. European police use exclusively BMW for their motorcycles. Same with BMW 320i.
Affordable Care Act. Have you used it before? I assume it is nationwide. Do you need preauthorization or referral to see specialists?
Why wouldn’t you just downsize, cash out equity and buy a rental property and have a property manager manage it and provide you with income?
Or just move to a smaller home?
The main reason is we live riding Motorcycles. We’ll get into a small camper at some point but we are having too much fun doing this.
,❤️👍👍👍❤️🤝
I am sad to hear about your dog. 😔
What is wrong with Americans ? Vitamins, insurance, declarations, lists ?????? Get over all that shit and just live. 👍
I like Alberta Health Services 100% coverage no premiums No copay no payment required. Tax funded Health Care. Canadians get the healthcare they need not what they can pay for. Coming soon tax funded drug plan
Shame about your dog
He was a good boy. He was hurting too much. Thanks
What are the benefits of having 2 motorcycles over both of you just riding 1?
First off Chris does not like riding on the backseat. She needs to ride her own bike. It also means she can bring more stuff. 🤣🤣
It does add some more running/maintenance costs (fuel, tyres, servicing, insurance, etc), but it also means in more remote areas you have the security of a back up vehicle if one bike fails. In this case they are road bikes, but a lot of us also venture off-road (dual sports) and riding two-up off-road is, for most of us, less fun.
Great Story telling and information. Stay Safe and enjoy the adventure!
Thanks Mike keep the shinny side up.

I think it would be wise to have at least one solid pad somewhere to settle for a short time after being on the road for a while. There is a bicycle tourist named, Darren Alff who owns a home in UTAH, but rents it out as he travels the world on his bike. He then stays at his parents place in California when he is not touring. He has been practically everywhere around the world.

Beautiful home, and family! Zach’s White Camaroo is Da’Bomb! I am so sorry for the loss of your dog. You all gave each other a wonderful 15 years. ❤️. Living light and down-sizing. Bin Der Dun Dat.... been living light for over two decades.
If ,like me, you really find "home", say like Arizona..... Just relocate to a Mobile home that suits your taste and go from there. reboot or restart....;), ( just make sure that the walls are at least 6 inches thick, and double -glazed windows.....)..All else....
Stay Safe !
I so hate you left your pets behind totally turned me off to the video. The animal has no idea WTF is happening to it so disappointed.
The pets were not left behind. The cat went to my moms and we visited her often and bear the 15 year old dog was very old and was in lot of pain We only left after that. So you should rethink accusing us of abandoning our pets.
@@TwoWheelsBigLife I will stick with my ordinal statement if you get an animal it should be a part of your family period or don't get one. The statement the cat says it all no it was your cat both of them you didn't even mention the other one. As a full disclaimer maybe of my mood I lost my wife of 27 years recently to cancer so I am incredibly grateful for my dog and cat and no matter what dreams I might have I accept I got them they are mine for life period. I used to go to the Grand Canyon ever year on my motorcycle not this year won't happen. The joy I always got while my wonderful wife was dealing our cat our dog not the not the cat or the dog was talking to her about my adventure. I took these animals for life for better or worse I have been through that with pets and sadly now my wife. I would and so need to do that adventure again but I adopted these animals to be in their forever home not well if I want this or that home.
😹😹😹😹😹😹The cat pooping in the car is too funny!
That riding in the snow shit you did was for the birds.
We have traveled via motorcycle for over 30 years. This was a yearly thing starting with several couples and now as we are turning 70 its just the two of us but we are going strong and have upgraded to a roadman camper / trailer and the Goldwing trikes (I build) I am not sure we would ever go full time but We sure do enjoy our 5-10k annual trips. I do appreciate the fact you guys do the back roads and gravel as most riders avoid those conditions, Not me.
Its not crazy to live motorcycle life style, but might be crazy you motorcycle camping in Yellowstone during middle of winter, 6 months from now! Yellowstone winters not made for motorcycle camping! Brrr! Your vid titled, Man, is it cold out here! Well Yeah your in the Rockies!

Only thing that confused me was you said not sure whether to buy some land and build a.....bargonium...or something?? What is a bargonium??
A barndoium is basically a metal building (barn) and convert it to a living space. Google Barndonium and you will be amazed There are some that are incredibly nice. Big bucks 💵
