When I first saw him in Gangs of Wasseypur, I knew he was a great actor. Everyone was going gaga over Manoj and Nawaz. But I absolutely loved the character of Shahid Khan. What a gutsy, ballsy performance. It was so sincere, so honest and yet enigmatic. That scene where he bludgeons the guard in the mud, the one who stopped him from seeing his wife who died in delivery, is pure cathartic perfection. Sardar or Faizal are no match for Shahid Khan, in my eyes. Jaideep Ahlawat deserves a lot more love from Indian audience. And roles need to be written for this actor. He's in the class of Irfan, Nawaz, Manoj, Pankaj.

Such a well spoken person Mr. Jaideep Ahlawat. Enjoyed listening to him talking passionately about his work and providing insights. Loved the interview!
I hope at least now rick gets why most Indians pushed back at his unidirectional characterization of hathiram as bad and then a good husband. As Jaideep said he must've been a good husband and person but circumstances make you irritable, just like a child who values something.

Rick gets into 'white knight' syndrome when it comes to poor treatment of women, and tends to go overboard and judgemental. Overall he's fairly self-aware, but this is one aspect where that fails him...
It's ridiculous that someone of Jaideep's calibre will be playing second fiddle to starkids like Ananya Pandey and Ishan Kattar in his next movie - entitled nepokids with not a single ounce of talent or skill in their entire being! That's why bollywood has become a joke

Awesome interview! Great questions as always! Congratulations to Our Stupid Reactions! Jaideep Ahlawat is one of the best actors from India!
