Well, I've been watching RUclips sailing channels for a long time and, this episode is likely the most well edited, narrated episode I've ever seen! The commentary on Greek culture, the hose repair segment, the hike to the tower, and your discussion on tourism and small towns was so interesting and well crafted. Of course, Isabella was brilliant as always.
We are so excited that you are going to cruise the PNW! Our son is about the same age as Isa and we are also boaters based out of north Seattle. While it’s not as warm, it sure is beautiful!
Hi! In water-cooled engines, when one of the hoses deteriorates and starts to leak, the condition of all the other water hoses is the same. Their expiration date has already expired! Change them all, or, in a very short time, one of those water hoses could burst, leaving you without an engine, at a time when you need it most. A boat is the same as a plane. Boats have a port, and planes have an airport. There is no shoulder on the high seas. Change all the hoses soon, so you have a reliable engine.
You have the most happy, content child I have ever seen. She has the most precious smile! She is so fortunate to experience this life you are providing to her. You are good parents and good people. I enjoy your videos very much.
The history added to each episode gives each lanscape their true value...on the gastronomic side, lately it remembered me of A.Bourdain running away from the tourist traps seeking the authentic... Greece has soo much material for production and it is being done masterfully...the base is good, specially remebering the days when producing anchored during the pandemia. Well done..
Great video. I love that you guys stop at super remote locales and narrate the historical significance of it. Thanks so much for sharing your adventures with us.
Oso is such a Salty Sailing Dog! I love seeing him on the Bow sprit just chilling, when you were on the lean, he's figured out to use the rails to lean against! I literally laughed out loud with you when Oso sent the rock rolling !!!! Great video. Love your future plans and praying all goes well with answers for Isabella! Stay safe you four!!!
It is quite common for Greeks to have olive groves on the islands. It provides a second income to families. Many who work in seasonal occupations like hotels, summer restaurants, gift shops or any tourist based occupations. The tourist season runs from April-May until the end of October. Olive harvest begins in late October and can end in January-February. That cemetery in Mani might be a family "plot" since land is limited it is common for a crypt to be reused by other family members when they pass. Bodies will be exhumed when the crypt is needed and bones placed in a metal container with the name of the relative on it and be placed within the upper chamber of the crypt. As for the pronunciation of Mani is Mah-née, where the a sounds like ah and the I is pronounced like ē. Crete comes in second to vendettas in Greece after Mani.
Another great Saturday morning coffee with Atticus. So beautiful to see you enjoying sailing as a family. Isa has such a happy smiling face always. Oso is having lots of fun. Thanks for sharing.
Great narration and filming, as usual. Your B-roll is really well put together, better than many other channels "A" roll!. By the way, the float plan you mentioned is on our list, too. If it works out go for it, you will be so glad you did. We're all looking forward to hearing how it goes in Boston, too. You deserve the best outcome possible for your family. Namaste.
Isa is just to cute! Those thunder thighs tho "that's what i called them with my oldest daughter" freaking adorable! Her smile could light the darkest of nights.
Hi guys, I’m gonna say something that you guys already know but Isabella is such a beautiful beautiful baby and you should be very proud of her. No doubt you are. Thank you for the videos. Keep up the good work , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia
In Fl, Fort Barancas in Pensacola & etc...they have similar examples of the "cellar design " you found in the abandoned ruins. If I remember correctly, those areas of the arched design, is for "ammo storage". The less populated places are absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing / safe travels ❤️🙏
We still build arches like that here in Maine but its mostly done with brick first and then we put a wire mesh over that and then several coats of plaster. Much love from the coast of Maine 🤙 ❤️
Stress can be an absolute Sod to deal with. My father was getting so stressed Out about everything, My Sister brought him a pile of cigars and a packet of Pipe tobacco back from the Caribbean - he had given up Smoking maybe 30 years prior, and in his early eighties, nothing to worrynabout right ? well the difference was staggering, and every time I hit the Continent, I brought him a pile of Cigars back, heck even Cuban ones were cheap in Hungary. And even as he started going down with Statins caused Dementia, his stressed out blowups were extremely rare, and mostly he was all smiles and Happy, and very glad to say, when he finally passed in his 90's after all the Stories about him, everyone left his Funeral Service Smiling, with his final Nurses saying - Why are you always so Happy and Smiling Doug ? Well there's No Point in Being Sad and Niserable is There, he replied. ❤ RIP Dad.
Wow, excited to follow you when you cross the Atlantic, Hawaii, Mexico, Alaska, etc. Have done Inland Passage several times while in Coast Guard and NCL cruises. You will bring back memories. If you stop at Crescent City, CA on your way down west coast ontact me and I can give you a ride. We have marine supply, Walmart, Safeway, Grocery Outlet, beaches, rivers, and redwoods.
Great video. I probably never made it that far in my sailing years, it's nice to see it here. And hearing the word "Bud" brings memories of Atticus I. Best wishes to your baby girl. Looks like some day she'll be trimming that mainsheet. Fair winds.
just a friendly advise and sorry if i sound patronising but english is not my language, in Europe especially south is custom to bring a small gift to someone who went far and beyond to help. a bottle of vine or anything. i am talking about the guy in the Marina. I also think that he sell olive oil as a side gig and would suggest to stock on olive oil from greece
@@rockysjewel they guy gave them a gift (twice) maybe its not common in your country to reciprocate but is a usefull information to know. side effect of being nice is that you have better service and make new friends
Those perforated clamps, man. Like so many mechanics say, the compression type clamps are so much better. More even grip around the whole circumference of the hose.
Your childs smile is a ray of sunshine. On a technical note... it is good practice to change all the rubber hoses at once , they are probably the same age and are in a similar state , at least the ones that feed that heat exchanger are prone to failure subject to vibration. Dont want to jinx it but keep it in mind. Best of luck.
I enjoy your historical commentary as you experience these wonderfully exciting places. I hope Arrabella is going to healthy and continue the voyaging.
Oso is such a character, even choosing the wooden plank on the bowsprit as a napping spot at 18:18, leaping out of the kayak for a swim, sending a rock tumbling from the ruin. He's great company, yet quite independent.
How beautiful the sounding land, the way to raise your child, your family, all of it. I pray for Isa’s health daily. May Boston yield nothing but good news. 🙏🏻. Thank you for sharing everything with us. ❤❤❤
I have watching you guys weekly for a long time now. All episodes. Thank you for documenting your journey and sharing with us. I would like to do some sort of Liveaboard sailing school/adventure, maybe in the Caribbean to get a taste of what you are living. Do you have any recommendations?
I don’t know if you know, but you can get a Loctite kit called an “O” Ring Kit. This has all of the “O” Ring rubber diameters in long lengths which you can cut to length to make any loop diameter “O” you need. Once cut. The ends of the rubber are bonded together with the Loctite glue included in the kit. You no longer have to hang around waiting for an “O” ring spare part to turn up. How ever, watching your hose adventure there, the same thing can be done for engine hoses, but via a different method. Thinking, thinking…!
Love watching your adventures and learning a little history at the same time, your videos are amazingly edited and very well put together, you guys are my favourite sailing family on youtube!
Hey Jordan, seeing you drinking coffe, i was wondering if you try to bring your own cup for coffee to shore. Because nowhere in the med there is proper waste burning facilities. What they do in remote regions is like setting the waste dump on fire :/ anyways i keep enjoying you discovering one of my favourite regions of Greece
When I tell my kids, let's go get some firewood, they come outside with shorts and sandals on, and then get sent back to the house to get pants and shoes on. They wonder why I am so hard on them about those things, until they get tore up by the vegetation. Great episode as always
What you explained at 12:45, was something i also noticed traveling. Tourist areas will have the things that the tourists expect to see there. For example, in a tourist area, a gyro will have lettuce, tomaotes, onions and tzatiki, because that what it xomes with here. Ut where we lived in Northern Greece, a gyro jad frech fries stuffed into it, and they offered you ketchup and mustard, and it cmae on a kaoser roll :p.
The rock on those hills was not there several thousand years ago. It was created by erosion from farming using the mold board plow. This was the farming method back then. However, the erosion has completely stripped the soil away to nothing. Today with farming using the methods I implemented on my farm, there is zero erosion of the soil. It took 20 years of dedicated development effort to learn how to do this using some of the best research minds the earth has created. But we did it. I am proud of the achievement. It is too late for this region. The soil is gone forever. If we could create soil from these rocks, then the farming methods I use in Washington state would work as well in Greece. Hope you enjoyed the history of farming.
how do you tell if you have a leak? Try wrapping a piece of toilet paper around it. This paper is so light it water loges quickly so easier to see if there is a leak.
Great episode. Thank you for working so hard to produce these an share your life with us. Hope the world finds peace soon an we can join you in these adventures. Love u guys.
When you replaced that hose at the beginning of the episode, the hose directly above must have been same age from its looks, I would have replaced it also. Just my 2c
This episode was one of the most beautiful I've seen--it seemed like every shot was filmed in golden magic-hour light. Loved the history and geography lessons, and also hearing about your possible future plans in the Pacific. Safe travels!

Worked in Greece for 4 years in the 90s. Go back as often as I can. I love the place, people, scenery and food
So glad you are thinking about the Pacific NW! Thats home to me! Really enjoyed this episode. Very well done! This part of Greece is so beautiful!
Oso, totally oblivious to fear and danger. Jumping in the water, walking casually to the top of that ruin. Love him.
We are so excited that you are going to cruise the PNW! Our son is about the same age as Isa and we are also boaters based out of north Seattle. While it’s not as warm, it sure is beautiful!
Oh that’s really cool. I live in PNW too/Seattle. Looking forward to watching. I love this channel!! 👏👏
Oso was already a hero, but he leveled up destroying ruins in this episode. He needs his own channel.
It’s a joy to see Isabella smiling all the time I bet she doesn’t even cry anymore.
Greece looks pretty chill. Looking forward to the baby Dr appt. Good luck & God Bless all of you. Like the idea of a south pacific passage!

Best episode yet. Awesomeness. Unlike so many channels, you guys go out of your way to show and tell. Brilliant
Great video. I love that you guys stop at super remote locales and narrate the historical significance of it. Thanks so much for sharing your adventures with us.

Oso has really become a boater dog. Love how he rides the front of the raft on the way to shore.
Sooooooooooo happy you got connected to Better Help. You and your family are worth it........not to mention or so and Atticus II
Great narration and filming, as usual. Your B-roll is really well put together, better than many other channels "A" roll!. By the way, the float plan you mentioned is on our list, too. Hi guys, I’m gonna say something that you guys already know but Isabella is such a beautiful beautiful baby and you should be very proud of her. No doubt you are. Thank you for the videos. Keep up the good work , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia
I was her age when I was on a sailboat and now I am 64 and just love sailing. Such a happy baby.
Your new bt mics are a nice addition to your videos. You guys are so awesome. Keep it up.
Great video! Absolutely loved the history lesson mixed in with today's view of the place. And a little boat repair to boot!

Great job, love the history lesson you provided. God Be With You
We spend our summers in the peloponese. It is even more beautiful than you see here. So glad you all enjoyed your time there.
We still build arches like that here in Maine but its mostly done with brick first and then we put a wire mesh over that and then several coats of plaster. Much love from the coast of Maine 🤙 ❤️

My sailing channels come and go, but Atticus will always be my Sunday morning coffee. This channel consistently entertains and informs. ❤

Just love Oso’s bow wow sprit position. 😂😂
Beautiful episode! (Those fluffy, flaky croissants looked absolutely amazing.) 😎🥰😎🥰😎
Fantastic episode! Good fix on the water hose. Very funny when Osso ruined the ruins!
🤣
Wonderful . Old culture, great beaches
Well, hopefully when you’re coming down the California coast you can find time to stop in Morro Bay or Avila Beach! We’d love to say hi!
I don't like watching your boat repair stuff. However I'll watch it because I like all the other recordings
Those perforated clamps, man. Like so many mechanics say, the compression type clamps are so much better. More even grip around the whole circumference of the hose.
Issa is beautiful. Praying for you guys.
I'm glad you found a chill spot to wait out your trip back to the U.S. for Isabella's medical appointment.
Another very entertaining video 📹 👏. Look forward to seeing you on the next one 😀 ❤.
Glad to see you have a blast!
Desiree, your meals look absolutely mouth watering! You should do a cookbook..
I’m always late to the party on the comments but you are part of my Saturday morning routine here in Northern California, thank you.

haha. I saw that rock rolling too 😅
One word. ... Awesome
thanks for addressing the wildfires!
Another great video and always love seeing Isa's beautiful smile ♥
Oso the rock climbing hound. 😀
I love that the last words in this video are “óla kalá”. Greek for “all good”, or everything’s cool.
How beautiful the sounding land, the way to raise your child, your family, all of it. I pray for Isa’s health daily. May Boston yield nothing but good news. 🙏🏻. Thank you for sharing everything with us. ❤❤❤
Good to hear others pray as well
The best way to start ny weekend 🫶🏼
