I first remember "Breezin'" then "This Masquerade" in 1976. Then in 1978 came "On Broadway". That's when I knew George Benson would be around for a long while.
George Benson! He is amazing! He is a jazz musician, guitarist, singer and songwriter! Great reaction Ashley!❤️😎 “Give Me The Night” “Turn Your Love Around” “Never Give Up On A Good Thing” “Love X Love” “The Greatest Love of All” “This Masquerade” “Lady Love Me(One More Time”) “On Broadway” “Kisses in the Moonlight” “Breezin” *Rod Temperton(Heatwave), Bobby Womack and Narada Michael Walden wrote some of his hits! ❤😎
He was already a highly regarded Jazz guitarist when he turned his hand to commercial record making. And when he did the hits followed, one after the other. I saw him live a few years ago and he was still playing and singing to a very high standard
Story is the record company did not feel Mr Benson could be successful as a singer. He of course is a phenomenal guitar player and the powers that be thought he should stay in that lane. We are so glad he didn't listen.
A king of classic soul, r&b and jazz. Sounds as fantastic and relevant today as it did over four decades ago. Perfect reaction and scenarios. His music was on the radio, in the back yard, in the park, over the PA and in the bedroom... he even dominated the elevators!
Saw George Benson live over 40 years ago in Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺, awesome jazz guitarist, singer could never get tired of listening to him. Super smooth.
Hi Ms. Ashley, I love this song I just love it.. Did I mention that I love this song.. Mr George has lots of nice songs and he's a very good jazz guitarist, you should check out a song called "Breezin'".. An instrumental.. ♠️Mr.G..

While this is a solid, great side of GB, it will always make you think of hitting the skating rink. You have to check out some of his other recordings (If you hadn’t reacted to them yet. “The Star of the story”, “Masquerade” and “On Broadway” just to name a few. He had so many. I know you have a lot on you plate, but please remember these great tunes.
Use to cruise in the car with family on this song ty Ashley for react to this, but if you have sometime can you react to Junior "Mama Use To Say" this was popping back then
This song was written by Bill Champlin ( Chicago ) Steve Lukather ( Toto ) and Jay Graydon they unanimously thought George's vocal style would be perfect for this song and I personally can't imagine anyone else singing it. If you're looking for a pretty man singing manly I'd suggest All True Man by Alexander O'Neal
The song won a Grammy in 1983 for the Best R&B Songwriter's Award. Toto also received Grammy's for Record (Rosanna) and Album (Toto IV) of the Year. Good night for Steve Lukather.
Believe it or not, the rapper Lil Kim sampled this song in the one of the tracks of her first album (1996). I won't say which one but let's say the premise of that track is interesting..lol

He is an excellent singer. Some of his songs, he is definitely singing in the highest register. Only great singers can achieve that.
I bought the 7-inch single when I was 13.

A bit dated, but a great song. And George has a great voice. Your commentary will probably offend some.
