I was at this concert at age 12, in Chicago. The cool thing is immediately after he finished the producers recording this for HBO let me go up and give him a rose!! So long ago as I’m 56 now! But what a great memory! I just wish that would have been taped for his video but it wasn’t. Even at age 12 I thought he was the greatest!!!

Haha kenny gets us all. My husband of 39yrs had this playing in the background when he asked me to marry him. He still sings (I say that cautiously) to this day 😉 and I love it!

Love Kenny Rogers music from when he was with the First Edition (60's-70's) to his solo career. He was a great story teller in many of his songs like "Coward Of The County" & "The Gambler". He had so many hits "Lucille", "Through the Years", "She Believes In Me", "You & I" (written by the Bee Gees) etc. He did a lot of duets such as with Kim Carnes "Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer", with Sheena Easton "We've Got Tonight" & with Dolly Parton "Islands In The Stream". He also did quite a few duets with Dottie West.
If you want to hear a SOULFUL VERSION of “LADY” listen to TEDDY PENDERGRASS’S version. Just as GOOD. 🎤🎼🎧💯

I love this song! Lionel is a great singer/songwriter and I love Kenny Rogers voice as well! Check out his hit songs "The Gambler" and his duet with Dolly Parton, "Islands In The Stream"! He is one of my favorite country artists of all time (Dolly too). 🔥🔥🔥
The amazing thing about this is he stands up there with complete ease and just about nails the studio version to a T.
He knows this song and sings it like he's done it a thousand times. And it was a new song, just released. Of course there was some lead time, still he just kills it like he has known it forever.
