This is basically Batman vs. Imperial Batman.
With the only key difference that Thrawn has no attachments. Batman's biggest weakness that even he has admitted are those around him. That is why for his contingency plan against himself would be to go after those he cares for since at the end of it all he is still just a human in a batsuit.
@johntfs good point
That's an interesting way of looking at it
what's the best media I can watch where Thrawn appears? Imperial batman sounds cool
@@birdofgrey6542---Star Wars: Rebels is where that guy eventually appears on and the Ashoka series. Both are on Disney+.
Meanwhile, Thrawn is making the exact same recording.
Always studying the art of war.
@DrOttoEdits @schwarerritter5724 Which is both of thier specialtied.
Batman vs Thrawn would be one absurdly intellectual battle of out-planning and out-smarting. It would never end.
Yeah; that's about it, until the battles *really* begin with a full-scale invastion.
It's very probable that Thrawn will recognize Batman's strategy, and will start using it against Batman himself. While Thrawn is a methodical, meticulous planner, he's also shown himself adept at adapting and improvising to changing circumstances.
@@danieldickson8591 Yeah, and likely as not: make a *deal* with him.
@@chissstardestroyerBatman doesn’t make deals. (Unless he has no other choice.)
Oh, the battle would end. When Thrawn died of ridiculously old age.
"He studies everything about his adversaries. His obsesstion is a vulnerability"
Uh, "pot calling the kettle black" there, Batman.
He does realise this same contingency could be used against him at the end, so he is aware.
Batman vs Thrawn would actually be epic. Two master strategists going head to head.
It would be best if both were in their usual wheelhouse at the start. Thrawn commanding his fleets and armies and Batman alone, seeking to bring Thrawn down.
I do have my doubts that Bruce could take him
This is actually super cool. The idea of Thrawn doubting himself seemed silly at first. But Thrawn is the type to acknowledge his flaws. something that would usually be a strength as he doesnt think himself infallible. But if he gets gradually moved into it, such as slowly introducing strange inconsistencies, it could work.
Honestly, the key to beating him is politics. He has absolutely no counter or comprehension of them
It could work, that is true. However, I believe that the longer this played out, the more likely Thrawn would turn the tables and win. Batman has the right idea, but it needs to be quick (think a short to midterm Ali Rope-A-Dope)
@chornk64 No, it wouldn't need to be quick. Thrawn is as knowledgeable about politics as the average gerbil is about the space program. I cannot emphasize enough how utterly useless he is in that field.
Simple things, like the idea that powerful men can call in favors is beyond him. Or the concept of nepotism
Batman: I must outthink him
Thrawn: your challenge is accepted. Be aware that better than you have tried and failed.
Thrawn is one of the few people who will have studied Batman as much as Batman has studied him. He'd know Batman would have developed some kind of contingency plan for encountering him, and will devise his own contingency around it. This kind of thing is his bread and butter. He's like Dr. Doom with how good his planning is. It'd definitely be a fun contest to watch.
Contingency plan code: twice the pride, double the fall.

Better believe that Thrawn also has a contingency for batman along with far more resources.

Batman vs Thrawn. A battle of wits I’ve wanted to see and experience for a long while.
These two I can imagine playing 4D chess with each other, potentially over the span of years

@@robbymanable or 5D chess with multiversail timetravel
Better than that: a four-player chess game between Batman, Thrawn, Tyrion, and L
If he hasn't already done it, he needs to do a contingency plan for Suction Cup Man.
There is, it’s called anti suction cup window cleaner
A super soaker filled with piss.
Thrawn is insanely smart and can easily find weakness in any strategy against him. He can piece together a profile of anyone just from crumbs of battle, a tiny thing left behind he will sniff it out and build a battle profile in seconds. He will tailor a counter to anything you throw at him. He is one very tough opponent to outmaneuver. Batman will have a hard time trying to figure Thrawn out because of his constantly changing battle style aiming for weakness. Thrawn only lost once ever because someone in his inner circle shot him in the head out of nowhere.
correction: He lost a few times, but only because officers under him made mistakes, or plays for personal glory
@@tromedlovdrolmai Or things that were simply a surprise factor.
Heck his deff by his treasonous bodyguard happened because Thrawn wasn’t made aware of the Skywalker family’s heritage and Leia inherited the loyalty of the species that pledged themselves to Vader.
I think the case can be made when he does lose, he knows the value of minimizing setbacks.
It still wouldn't be impossible for Batman he was able to outsmart beans that had the sophistication of a supercomputer
Thrawn is a military genius and defeating any military genius will always be difficult for one reason or another. So I don't blame anyone for losing against him.

You know a strategist is good when Batman's main strategy boils down to, "I just need to be better."
He's basically the Sun Tzu in Star Wars
I've been thinking that for the longest time.
Finally, one of my requested characters is completed!
Excellent description of Thrawn. Bruce's strategy does seem to work, though I do anticipate Thrawn may study Batman and realise any inconsistencies he displays are meant to throw him off. If they confront each other, it's going to be the biggest clash of intellects and strategies.
Contingency Plan Code: Meddling Kids
Subject: Mystery Incorporated from Scooby Doo
He's said before he doesn't do large groups.
@@colvamoon6962 what counts as large? Is 5 characters large?
@Superlazerninja12 well, someone tried to do the Mane 6 from MLP, and he said he doesn't do groups. He does do pairs sometimes, if they are intrinsic to each other. One example I could think of is Jak and Daxter, or my own request, Ratchet and Clank.
@@colvamoon6962 I'd say the Scooby-Doo gang are pretty intrinsic to each other
If Multiversus is any indication, he and Shaggy know each other pretty well.
So one thing that is missing from this particular analysis is actually countering thrawns own diversions and misdirections and other plans thrawn never approaches from the front end of things without having three different daggers coming at you from different angles in your blind spots. And if there are none then he already has you right where he wants you. If you do manage to escape he has learned something from you. Everyone has a starting point a foundation. And thrawn knows he is vulnerable and fallible. Flexible in thinking. He finds people that are competent in their area of expertise, capable of acting in a manner that utilizes themselves that utilizes their specific talents and skills. They become trustworthy to do what they need to do. When he knows this he knows how to employ them into his strategies. The Batman already has a long course of history of actions that have been recorded in public record. Attempting to put in false narratives becomes very difficult from public media. You think you're trying to subvert thrawn in an attempt to bring him down. In reality thrawn is subverting you just as much
Even if this contingency plan works then Thrawn will just come back and study Batman and the alter ego of Bruce Wayne to solve how to defeat Batman if it comes to a round two
Thrawn: "Hah! I knew you knew it!"
Batman: "Hah! I knew you knew I knew it!"

Mr. Incredible could have saved a lot of lives this way...

Pretty much the same as this I imagine.

Thrawn's biggest weakness is that he's too rational. Actions based solely on emotion are a blind spot to him. The biggest example was what cause his downfall in the original novels: He couldn't imagine Leia would turn the Noghri against him, because Leia reaching out to those who tried to kidnap her kids was completely unfathomable to him.

Thrawn is legitimately one of the only characters in fiction who could truly challenge Batman, as their intellects are pretty much both on the same level. However, there is one thing Batman could exploit to defeat him. See, Thrawn's main weakness is the supernatural, because it's the one thing he cannot predict. Since Batman has had numerous dealings with otherworldly phenomena throughout his career, he'll likely know how to use that against Thrawn and defeat him.
If there is one adversary that I think Batman would have the most difficulty in defeating, it's Thrawn. The two are very similar in playing psychological warfare and studying their opponents in order to defeat them. Thrawn is a very clever man, and he didn't get his rank by kissing the right asses or having enough prestige. He earned it on merit alone. If Thrawn had joined the Rebel Alliance, I'd bet anything that he would've guaranteed the Rebels an early victory before the Death Star at Endor was being constructed.

Thrawn vs Batman...this would be a crazy hell of a battle...it can go on for weeks or months depending on strategies they would use on each other...
Batman outthinking Thrawn? That's going to be pretty tough to do, Bats. Thrawn cuts through layers of deception like butter.
It would be easier not to try to challenge Thrawn's own mind directly, but to mess with his subordinates. Make them slip up or turn them against Thrawn if possible.

Sorry Bats, you'll never pull it off. He'll see through your plans just a little bit faster than you can plan for.
Fair, but then again, there is one thing Thrawn can't counter. Batman directly showing up.
@@ShiftyMcGoggles I would disagree. It depends on the time frame and if we're going of the original cannon for Thrawn. If so, Rhuk would either slow Bats down enough for the stormtroopers to gun down, or he'd flat out destroy Batman. If we're going off the newer cannon, then Thrawn is no pushover for physical combat and in a one on one brawl, there's enough difference in the opposing styles and forms for that to be a 50/50 toss up. That's not factoring in Death troopers, Dark Troopers, or whatever those Dark Side zombies were from the end of Ashoka season one.
@@NTJ1984there’s also the fact that in order to even get to Thrawn, Batman would have to somehow get on board a Star destroyer and get past an entire army, that’s not going to be an easy thing for him to do.
Batman vs. Thrawn is basically not just one game of chess, but many games of chess that actually culminate into a big game of chess that was being played in a higher dimension.
Batman is right, they are so similar that this can go legit either way. Thrawn is one adversary against whom Batman must pull out all the stops, just as Thrawn will no doubt have to do the same. Batman might be one of the few Thrawn acknowledges as a true equal.

One of the more *unusual* works involving Thrawn however was a breakdown of his responses to the likelihood of an invasion of his country by the Romulan Star Empire reminiscent of "Balance of Terror", he did a lesser-quality job of it than Captain James T. Kirk did, however, and some five years later on in that, the "Raptor People" as he dubbed them in his reports returned, or more frightengly still: their ship didn't leave when he *thought* they left, and they spent some time mapping under deep cloak- only leaving elsewhere and later on after gathering data, or they downloaded his country's files on their maps and equipment; only to return later on with a truly expansionist vengeance that the Empire really was on the ropes to cope with!
