They went out of their way specifically to prevent this team up.
I have C6 Kaeya, so his burst constantly slapping things with cryo is an option, but notably few will have him built, let alone at C6.
I suspect we'll see more "f#!$ your META" characters in the future. Not sure how that will work if they refuse to make them good enough to even compete with the current roster though.

The thing about yae is her damage isn't as bad even before. I mean, she's kind of a bit comparable to Fischl which is a solid character.
And there was always the dendro thing going around that might save her.
However, Dehya though.. it is still far from anything that might save her. I mean ppl even saying that she's even weaker than xinyan.
Her next artifacts seems gonna do it with the 50% boost, but even that is still a bit niche.
Ironically The thing that I believe might save her is the enemy. If the enemy is the kind that hits a lot then she might be saved.
As for kuki, I think she was always gonna be something for dendro, just like yae.
@@sakamiyo7153 Its beacuse dehya is meant to be used in a dehya burgeon team, her slow pyro application and her slow icd even in burst mode is so she can allow time for dendro cores to form and then she burgeons them - but the youtubers are mostly retards and can't figure this out

As much as I want Dehya to be buffed, she's not going to get that "fix" like Kuki, Yae, and Thoma did because nothing about their kits were fundamentally changed. They just added Dendro. We're not getting anything like that for Dehya and they've said they have no intent of making big changes like they did for Zhongli. There is no hope.
They can buff her like they did to zhongli but zhongli is a limited banner charecter and an archon so he disserved the buff but i don't see them buffing dehya especially since the company is so racist
The only way they can fix her is with a dedicated artifact set or if they find a way to push "face tanking" meta
not to mention that since she’s a standard character now, she will never get another rerun. which means hoyo will never make money directly off of her again…so there’s literally no incentive to fix her at all.
what the f are u talking about? her biggest problem is the fact that we currently dont have any good hydro application units that do not apply hydro on on-fields character's normal attack. I bet she will be kicking really hard once fontaine archon comes along.

@@ravebae Xingqiu/Yelan burst only works when the character do Normal Attack, not Charge Attack, nor Elemental Burst and etc. So Dehya's burst does not work with them

Pretty much every healer in the entire game is better than Qiqi, and her usefulness is locked behind constellations. But even at c6, she still gets outshined by every healer in the game.....

She doesn't have a crit rate, she's strong without it, but if she had a crit rate, her damage would be much higher. I saw someone who made her have a crit rate, and she hit 700k with one charge attack.
For me she was the best looking new character genshin ever released and still is, her personality is lovable and feels normal rather then a bit weird like other female characters in the game, but mihoyo really hate doing good stuff for the game 😕😕

I think HoYo thought it'd be a good idea to let the trainees design a character for once.
What makes me pissed is that they had weeks of beta with every single tester pointing out in detail her issues…. and they just didn’t care.

@@jay_1212 They first nerfed her in beta and then lowered her atk scaling to give her a smidge of hp scaling on her abilities. They did this because here ascension stat is hp and she had nothing in her kit that scaled with hp. She was a mess from day 1.
Her kit feels like when you accidentally step into a puddle and then have to walk around with wet socks for the rest of the day.

Ok the nilou thing caught me off guard because I never expected it.
Considering the hydro region is next I don't think it's too crazy to say we might get another character like nilou that applies hydro in a way that suits Dehya's burst.
Even so she is still sht compared to Xiangling or Bennett. She tries to be both mixed with Xinyan without physical buffs and is neither of them.

When I fought a hydro abyss mage with dehya and used my burst, i instantly got caught in a bubble and the burst was cancelled 😂

We’ve yet to see another 5star male pyro dps, while there are already 2 female pyro 5stars.

Everything you listed in this video 100% covered all of my problems I had with her just trying her out in the trial mode (and for reference, I basically ignored all leaks of her kit before 3.5 released). She is pointless in a support role, she is pointless in a dps role (on-field or not), and she is pointless for investment at any level because of it. I think what Mihoyo was trying to do was to again sell on her constellations, because from what I hear a lot of them fix or improve on her problems (this is also supported by her standard banner status next patch). However, all of the current standard banner 5* characters are at least functional and playable in a C0 state, while Dehya at C0 absolutely isn't. The only guess I have left for Dehya's current weakness is the supposed "Future Impact" that was mentioned in the video, but designing future content / enemies around this supposed "face-tanking" mechanic feels like it would spit in the face of anyone who has already invested in shielders and healers. Dehya being the first and potentially one of the only counters to content built around this "mechanic" can definitely make money for Mihoyo, but it would definitely destroy the game's reception to many players.
I have no idea what Mihoyo is trying to accomplish with Dehya, and for a game that Mihoyo prides its characters as its main selling point, it honestly makes me feel regretful for spending and investing so much time and money into this game.
I had that exact train of thought. Everytime I saw parts of her kit I thought "Ok maybe they're trying to do [this]" and then things just kept happening which debunked my theory. Honestly, this is mihoyos most baffling decision to date.
I completely agree. I am SO disappointed with her damage and kit, and I cannot express my dissatisfaction and sadness that she isn't usable. I'm seriously questioning my possibilities decision to get her, as I have a guarantee. I would rather have Klee! Kleenex! I wonder when MiHoYo will re-run Klee...

My 4 star f2p weapon diluc 6 6 6 talent did more dmg than dehya 😭
Diluc main here: okay diluc aint the best but at least he can vaporize and hit 35k each with it after using the burst. His infusion also doesnt go away when you switch off. Diluc is a unit that has meh damage but also a unit that is peaceful with making some mistakes in the strategy unlike tartaglia or alhaitham. I think that makes up for the meh'ness of the damage. Thats why diluc is awesome for starters but not as good for late game. He is a unit for starters
I mean at dehya though there is no right way to place since either way she hits way worse. She isn't good for starters (elemental burst energy, meaningless skill, lowest claymore na's) nor is she good for late game (zhongli, xiangling or bennet are always gonna outperform her on comps individually depending on which units are better on said comp) so she has no place.
The combat mechanics that genshin characters may have are (they may have one or several):
Damage
Healing
Shields
Buffs
Elemental application
And then there's Dehya, she runs faster during daytime

At least you don't look for leaks. The Frist test of her have very high numbers, them they nerf, and nerf, and nerf, and nerf before today (and no joking, one number past from 270% to 106%)
@@yaminarthem1977 This is straight up wrong unless you have pre beta info, her numbers were always low in the beta. No number went from 270% to 106%. I'm not saying the changes were entirely good or bad, but it's just wrong to say they were ever acceptable or high multipliers to begin with.
The actual main kit multiplier changes in beta:
Two multiplier changes for lvl 10 Q: punches went 229% --> 203% --> 177.7% + 3.05% HP and final kick 282% --> 286% --> 250% + 4.30% HP
One change for lvl 10 E: field tick dmg 123% --> 108% + 1.86% HP
The HP scaling wasn't even there in the first beta, everyone was upset with multipliers from the start.

@@mania1811 Yep. One of the complaints people had was how boring the beta was since there were so few changes made to Dehya. She wasn't repeatedly nerfed, she was just relatively untouched... which was bad because she started bad. Like the only change they made was lowering her attack numbers on her skill and burst 1 time when they added in the HP scaling, which then basically made them the same damage wise with previous attack scalings.
Actually, I sort of take that back. She started amazing. When you read about what her kit does and how cool it all sounded... then you got to see the damage numbers, the long cooldowns, long downtimes, and high energy costs and eventually learn she doesn't work with all these other characters. It was just rough.
Candace and kuki were at least 4 stars, but dehya being 5 star and this bad at release is honestly a slap in the face.
Just got Dehya and currently I'm fiddling with a build.
So far I have plans to try building dehya with her sig weap and vermillion artifact set, theoretically I could have her buffed with +80% attack.
Comps right now I'm considering Chongyun for melts, cd reduction and aspd buff
Benny for more atk, and maybe... a healer?
I pulled for her and her weapon, I'm betting all-in on her potential

I am crying so hard inside rn. I waited for Dehya for months since the Sumeru update came out, and now she is under-built? That socks. I love her devastatingly exquisite design and her backstory, but her kit makes not much sense to me. I'll probably still get her, but she will be waiting for a real buff from Mihoyo, and sit in my Character Closet until then😭😭😭
I think similar to using Nilou, Dehya might be able to use the hydro aura around the character from Xingqiu's swords (and technically Barbara's skill as well lol) to still vape, even though her burst doesn't trigger his swords. I'm unsure if it'll connect fully as she punches normal enemies away, but I use this for a budget freeze Chongyun build so I'm pretty sure it should work on bigger enemies at least. It's really unfortunate that it doesn't work with the actual ult from xing and yelan, but I think that's slightly worth something.

And even Diluc does, and that's as sad as it gets. He was the worst five star to get one of,. For early players, you're better off investing in various four stars that can transition to other non-DPS roles later. And he's outclassed by every other five star DPS in the game. He does beat Qiqi out in terms of constellation value, though.
Still fun to play, though, so I expect even he will be less disappointing than Dehya.
i disagree if you compare it with qiqi tho were talking about standard banner we'll get multiple copies of them i rather take 6 dehya than 6 qiqi. her cons completely useless not even talent lvl 13 can save qiqi.

@@cheesynut I have to disagree with you. While her damage multipliers and elemental app are bad, her healing multipliers are insane. She also have some sinergy with superconduct and Dendro teams (although now Yaoyao completely replace her role in this)

I've been waiting for Dehya since we met her in the Sumeru story line, looks like Hoyo doesn't like her as much. She is kinda like a 5* Xinyan, imo nice character design and a fun character overall, but not really usable. Maybe we'll get some more use and/or buffs in the future?

@@Scyphio_ Deyha is awesome, no doubt. As a character design, personality wise, her large role throughout the Sumeru storyline. An absolute favorite of mine... that they did dirty with this nonsesical, wildly unfun to play kit.
For a little context, 2 of my favorite previous characters were Kokomi and Kuki. I thought both were good and fun to play from the very start. I didn't care about perceived power or capability. Dehya has great animations but feels so horrible to play right out of the box that it is just unbearable.

iirc, the original geo resonance before the zhongli buffs was that when you have a shield on, you have more resistance to interruption. but i remember sitting there like, "wait i don't even take damage with a shield. why do i need the resistance?" this was the thing that lead me to think shields were better than interruption resistance.
speaking of: did you know that without enough interruption resistance, dehya can get stunned out of her burst?

Ikr nothing can buff her that won’t just make other pyro characters stronger making the pyro characters floor higher, unless they make an artifact set ‘if dehya uses this artifact set she gains 100 crit rate, 150 crit dmg , 1000 atk,def and hp and if she is the only pyro in the team she gains an additional 50% pyro dmg’

They can probably bring some unique Fontaine enemies or a new character who has some insane synergy with dehya or else she is indeed worse than xinyan.
Artifact or new weapon can't buff her because the problem lies on her kit.

Mihoyo could fix dehya in two interesting ways: first one could be the classic way, lower cooldown on e and its explosion, or just making that recasting gives a bit more time to cover up the cooldown, and making q sctivate basic attack effects. The second way it would be very interesting, and it is by lowering q cooldown and energy requirment, by a lot, so that she becomes a very unique character that works by costantly spamming q (also q should not cancel e), that would make it so interesting
True, but then the problem would be that she won't have many supports available to her, since most of them have 18s to 20s cool downs
Truthfully, her kit isn't bad, her multipliers are (and her e coordinated attack cd). To "fix" her, Hoyoverse could've simply made her multipliers make sense. She has so much "HP Scaling", but attack sands is still better

in the main story, she did say she never used a 2 hand before but game forces her to use a weapon, not everyone can be husao.
To be honest, with that pp team, even Barbara and amber can be massively op. (if benni's C6 would aplay to bow users.)
I feel like if dehya should be geo, everyone would be okay with it, but her kit was ready but someone put a Pyro vision on her. and since geo is mainly for protection, it fits her fare better. And it would for the standard banner better since, they are missing a geo and with the amound of geo supports.

you know whats best on dehya? she should be designed like "zhongli with no shield". taking that dmg mitigation 100% or more if she activates E, if shes low, simply heal her while doing her burst then go back again with your dps or MAYBE if you heal your on-field dps with on-field healing ability, dehya also get healed off-field (when her E active ofc)
she actually have passive heal in one of her talent
but sadly she doesn't have anything that make her more powerful when having low HP like hu tao
so her taking damage for the team is utterly pointless
the only useful part of her kit is the super armor, but well.... we have zhongli
even diona's practically-permanent shield would be better (and she contribute a lot of other things)

Additionally from my suggestion above, if only dehya can give back the damage to the enemy based of how much she mitigates it. that would be nice too. We need to just go full unsatisfied and express our suggestion on the next survey
there's a leaked artifact in 3.6 that's tailored to Dehya(the bonus is so huge but to gain that bonus you either sacrifice dps or use Dehya's unique mechanic of DAMAGE REDIRECTION)
but i think this artifact can be used on NILOU bloom team on NAHIDA
or Kaveh main DPS team (if his main field way of dmg counts as a BURST type dmg)
the bonus is actually not that good, it caps at 50% skill and burst bonus damage, which is worse than using EoSF because of her energy issues
it's not even better lol, the Emblem set is still about 1% better than the new set designed for her, unless you have C4 Dehya and in that case the new set is like 10% better
Good review! Imo she can deal decent amt of damages but only when she's well built, in comparison to other 5stars that deal decent damage even with not good artifacts. Its true all of her cons can easily be forgotten if her damage scaling was higher. All in all she rly just needs some buffs

Wow, you putting Cyno in the same level as Dehya pretty much shows how bad his reputation is and how doom posters ruined his character when he's not even THAT bad. Such a pathetic end for a character that has been hyped since the very beginning.
Also, it's weird how you think that it's bad to create a team around Cyno and Dehya to make them work. But isn't Hu Tao, a Xingqiu slave since god knows when? Hu Tao is mid if you just randomly put her in a messy team, same goes for the rest of the characters, so you're not making any sense.
Cyno is actually quite busted with nahida but with dehya, I don't even think her constellation 6 can even save her. She's just a terrible design character overall. Like, why have a damage mitigator, takes dehya's hp off field as well from ally being hit, when you can just use Zhongli or bennett? Since her entire kit revolves around damage sharing this also forces you to build a healer for your characters. It's not like dehya can heal her teammates after taking those hits. And her damage is non-existent. I waited for her since 3.0 and I'm kinda annoyed how I can't even use her in any team because xiangliang (better in damage and applying pyro) and Bennett (heals and buff atk) are just simply better. And these are 4* characters, like, wtf? You can't even use her to clear spiral abyss. If you want to use her burst might as well just use itto without his geo team and he would still do more damage than her entire burst rotation.

@@key2shawn154 thats cuz their ults either buff the auto like kokomi or itto's or in cyno's case considers it as an auto attack and charge atk, nilou E is weird cause its counted at an elemental skill but procs yelan.(which is the point of the first comment) I get ur point but its not the same cause its supposed to work for them, unlike nilou's which somehow works with yelan and xinqui despite not being able to use beidou's ult, i know why both work and dont work but I hate how mihyo isnt clear when it comes to what does and doesn't work.

@Xentiment and theres no clear cut variant. we thought it had to be normal attack smg being triggered forever but we arent even sure of that anymore foe beidou's burst. basically they didnt wanna dehya to succeed for....reasons? she's objectively worse than every other 5 star and honestly. most chars in game.

But to explain Beidou not working with Raiden is because Beidou is coded to trigger when you do Normal Attack Damage while Xingqiu and Yelan is coded to trigger when you do Normal Attack Animation. That's why Raiden burst doesn't trigger Beidou or else emblem doesn't work with her.
I feel like she'd be good with ganyu sunfire with bennet dehya ganyu and jean(vv), while dehya being on favonious-emblem and according to your energy needs you could also use favonious on jean too
Hopefully they give her the Zhongli treatment and make her good cause dehya is a gem

Dehya is one of my fave characters from Sumeru, I love the seasoned warrior/heart of gold types; but honestly the only way I’m getting her is on standart or losing 50/50.

They not willing to do anything, Miko and Kuki was made with dendro in mind. And there is no elements left to save this dumpsterfire , and even if we go back to Kuki and Miko before dendro they still did kinda good , and didnt feel awfull to play with enermous cds and energy problems and literally no element application with zero uptime like Dehya has. It cant be saved whatever they, if they even try to somehow fix it you cant remove this awfull design in the firstplace. She was my favorite in Sumeru and they gutted her
The only way that i can think of(beeg beeg cope) are they make character like nilou, which makes their own type of Reaction, and somehow you need those E, 2.5s pyro dmg for it to work.

I feel like Dehya could be fun in the very early stages of the game before you even start using artifact sets (and you mostly just solo with a specific character - in my case it was Jean for the first ~30 adventure ranks). But her skills seem very strange when compared with other "built" characters. It seems like she's intended to be a sort of tank, but "tank" isn't really a role that makes sense in Genshin Impact, especially when you have multiple characters who can essentially turn any other character into a tank far more effectively than Dehya can. Also, they should have dramatically increased up-time on her skill if they really wanted her to fill this role.
I think a phy build would be fun if you have the right stuff like Song of broken pines and a pale flame 4 piece but at that point, might as well just stick with Eula

Kuki and kokomi were always good. They got better with dendro.
Now for dehya they could have easily made her a pyro albedo with permanent uptime on her skill and a 40 cost burst. Her design is so cool it's really unfortunate, but we'll se what the future holds.

@@karashuun1083 she was alright like yeah there were better options but she provided well enough if you really needed the healing and couldnt afford to lose electro in the party (she was pretty useful in eula teams replacing diona and fischl and add rosaria since she also shreds phys resistence at later cons)
Kuki wasn't good, she was acceptable. And Kokomi was irrelevant because with many good shielders a healer was unnecessary. But, even with that, they were better than Dia, Deia, or whatever you prefer to call her. 😌

And also against Shouko no Kami's massively reduced resistances. I hit 181k on a Yoimiya attack man.
She worked well with Ayato in vape and rev vape as far as I have experienced, but what irks me is I dunno if it's a bug or it is really part of her kits, that she sacrificed her whole hp off field to tank the damage for Ayato. I might still be figuring this out but I thought she can receive damage like how Shinobu reduces her HP to heal the party until a specific percentage. Guess I'm wrong but I'll still look into it after I level Dehya up to 70.

The only reason they don't work with her, Dehya's burst switches her moveset to a burst set. Both their burst only works on normal attacks. Not sure if they can easily fix that problem, depending on how they coded the difference between burst and normal attacks

@@trapo5371 the difference is in how they coded (and worded) it. Eventhough Cyno's moveset changes, they still just consider those attacks as normal and charged. Dehya's burst explicitely changes her moveset to a burst-mode moveset, in other words, they aren't counted as normal/charged attacks.
Yelan and Xingqui only trigger on actual normal attacks, never on bursts.
I'm pulling for her just because i like her aesthetic but also im hoping she's more useful in co-op just for fun i have enough hyper carries n supports for abyss so shes just for fun.
Oh hell no. Using Deyah with Yelan was literally the only positive thing left I could do. Thought it would be a really fun combo regardless of Deyah's low damage output. My favorite character absolutely in the mud might be a good time to take a break.

Hey didn't expect you to mention my favourite soulcalibur character on her lol..
She is mainly Build to be a Tank for the main DPS. In fact, she can absorb more dmg compared to Zhongli Sheild. IMO, she will do well for xiao/wanderer team. Her ulti is just the cherry on top of the icing. Her C4 is just some quick Healing for herself. Most player want to play her as a DPS, but she isn't design for that. That's why MHY give TOM during her Trial. And lastly, she has HP% ascension.

This game is very rac*st not gonna lie. When it comes to dark skinned characters they design the kit so badly. But when it comes to Liyue characters it has to be OP.

@@-antares_ that is one thing I noticed Cyno, Candace, Dehya, Kaeya, and even Xinyan seem to be subpar compared to their counter parts they don’t add anything new and instead seem like they are there just to be used in comparison. Dehya seems to be the most notable case so far though considering how hyped her character was by most only for her to be incredibly bad almost on purpose considering Yelan and Xinqius burst don’t work with her

I really wanted to go for her this update, but knowing her place in the meta and the fact she will be in standard made me choose cyno over her (had his weapon and nahid already). I can see myself using her c0 in a Ganyu burn/melt team if I want zhongli on the other side. But I have no idea how u can practically utilize her kit in abyss:/ I'm not copied and don't think Fontain will bring changes as drastic as Sumaru did with all the dendro reactions. But I really hope she will become a Kokomi sorts. Maybe and artifact set and situations where she will be actually needed. But that will mean that hyv will make some whacky mechanics like corrosion and they will be in abyss:(

I've already sent my suggestion to the GI feedback box, mostly 'just' related to performance of Elemental Burst like :
- Slightly increase EB aspd
- Rework the EB from auto hit to manual for better positioning
- Rework the EB attack and E button as right and left fist
- Make the EB works with Yelan/Xq EB (the most important thing)
For real, after getting Dehya and her sig wp I'm kinda questioning the fucker who's approved Dehya kit. It feels like her kit was still in stage 1 development and just 'oh, it looks work. Let's present it to player base' then done with it. :(
I hope IWinToLose Gaming does a C6 showcase for Dehya sometime in the near future. Everything I have seen so far is that she is a low or even bottom tier character at C0, but I also that her constellations do improve her quite bit. I would want to see if that is indeed the case.
I bet this is gonna be another Kuki/Thoma situation. Mihoyo is planning to buff burning reaction and they're throwing in the puzzle pieces for that team ahead of time.
Sounds copium, but as a Dehya main/lover, I sure hope some form of compensation like that comes true. Whether it's a type of enemy that does splash damage across your entire team, or if burning reaction gets a new buff, I hope something new comes up.

The whole purpose of std character to make you feel worse so that you can swipe your card, that's how gacha system works. Ofcourse i know know there are few exceptions even in std but you got the point. So i highly doubt they do anything for her.

I pulled Yelan to use her with Deyha and only after I pulled Yelan I found out she doesn’t work with Deyha, would have loved to have gotten Raiden Shogun instead of Yelan if only I knew that earlier.
Yelan is a really good character and i would say on par as importance with the raiden shogun, besides you really need c2 raiden shogun anyways lol
Nah don't worry, Yelan is freaking good. She's worth the pull if you fully built her.
Yelan is probably the single best unit in the game overall so don't sweat it.

Hey did you try to see if she works well with a healer and fighting wolf enemies since it attacks the whole team her purpose could be to stop the main onfield dps from getting melted by wolves
so my team comp will be dehya , kazuha , yelan and sayu :D . what a great team in daytime .
