i've said that weeks ago when talking with peeps in discord give her vengeance stacks when taking dmg from passive, stacks give her CR, CDMG (or maybe both?), that would open artifact flexibility a lot, then up her numbers a bit, it was that easy, but nope
@Erik Neon Even if it is, she still wouldn't be that good, and you're pigeon-holed, pretty much to one artifact set if you want to go main DPS. Furthermore, knowing Hoyo, it's probably going to be like a 10% improvement over a pre-existing set like emblem, which in my view means she will still be bad and the set is not worth the grinding and that's basically my view on all the dedicated sets.
Good thing she's not actually real otherwise it would be a problem. Because at least being a game character you have a small chance to get changes to your kit, but in real life we probably need lot of money.

In a way I am kind of thankful for her kit being like this. Really killed my desire to keep playing, which saves me a lot of time going forward and now I don't feel any need to keep doing those damn daily commissions for primogems. It's good to finally be free. Fun character design. Fun personality. Good integration into the Sumeru story. Dehya had it all, and was the first character since Ganyu that I really wanted... and then this. It's not just that her kit is bad, or not powerful (I thought Kuki and Kokomi were both fine from the very start because they were both really fun to play) it's that her long cooldowns with long downtime in between make her painfully unfun to play.
Fun fact, she can get frozen during her burst animation. If this happens, it cancels the burst. You can get 1 hit in, get frozen, and lose the rest of her burst. Insane, bonkers, ridiculous. They already lost me when they made her burst be a animation instead of a stance change, but this is genuinely worrying. Did they slap this together in a weekend to see what would happen and ignore all beta feedback?
Yes just like the other guy posted. For those of us who followed her leaks, and really wanted her we knew from the beginning this shit was bad. She was intentionally NERFED in beta, and they knew from the start how bad she was. It was all on purpose. Now for what reason we may never know, but they 100% knew she was gonna suck and made her this way.

Its actually kinda funny because if you look at her constellations, it kinda shows they knew people wanted her. Her C4 fixes her own energy issues by making every burst hit generate energy and heal her.
@@Varviya Her C1 just gives her a flat 20%hp bonus and another effect. She has a fuckton effects in her constellations, seemingly to make up for her lackluster main kit.
@@CloudContainer some people will certainly will have her at C4 by chance. I have C5 Jean right now, and she becomes really really good with constellations. Standard banner characters are supposedly to be like this, if you're lucky enough to lose 50/50 on same character over and over, that character will become your main eventually.
She's a jack of all trades, master of none. Can tank and self heal, but not really. Can apply pyro, but not really. Can burst damage, but not really. Can apply resistance to interruption, but not really. She does it all, like shit.
I genuinely, GENUINELY hope that Dehya can be more utilized in the future--either through a great artifact set or other support characters. Or just buffing her up in general, honestly. She's a great character and it just sucks that she's underwhelming right now.
Trust me, she won't be there's no new elements to save her. She will be forgotten just like that other dark-skinned claymore user that Hoyovese seems to dislike to the point where they never even fixed her massive bug despite giving everyone a copy in an event!
Hopefully artifacts but if it's characters then that's just worse since you might be forced to pull for a character you don't like just to make dehya good.
dude believe me the character is just fine, being able to heal herself is quite cool, the real catch here is, for wich content i will use this character?. theres only 3 options, BP, abyss and map exploration, and this come in many ways, i have a lv20 tigniari paired with mona 90, keqing 65 and xianling 70 doing lay lines and i just love how i get fun with that, focus on how you can get fun for every character you have, forget the meta and the crazy numbers theres no way it can make any improvment in your game here because hitting 20K with every character is just fine i have clear the abyss with that, only in pvp gachas exist that not here
Yup its already been calculated by the math people. Base Dehya does less damage than all 4 stars. She has lower scaling than all claymore users as well. C6 dehya with hundreds of dollars spend is barely at c0 Hutao. Still slightly worse. Its insane, and possible criminal they made her this bad ;p
I actually quite like the tank aspect of her skill. It just really sucks that the pyro application is slow and it's got that dumb Albedo style proc. She could have been a good support if they just made the skill a normal AoE that went a off a bit faster.

Dehya was the one Sumeru character I wanted to pull from the moment she first showed up. I'm so disappointed that I'm now second-guessing on whether I should pull her. I normally don't care about meta, but I'm worried that I'll end up benching her after a while when I start having to pull out other characters to more quickly beat domains.
She wasn't the only Sumeru character I wanted to pull for (Al Haitham was my other) but otherwise I'm in the same boat. I don't want invest all the mats and such if I won't end up ever using her

Same for me. Pulled for her because she'll move to standard and I'd rather regret pulling her than regret not pulling her. Once she moves to standard it could take thousands of wishes to get her c0, I'm pretty much gonna bench her after testing her today and im deeply disappointed, but other characters were also shit before new artifacts/characters released so im still a bit hopeful. So it depends on how much you like her, for me i've never wanted a characters this badly before so I went for it, but if you judge characters based on strength more than yeah save your wishes.
Dehya should've healed her party members per hit during her burst and her skill resistance should've lasted for the whole duration. It would make her so much better in terms of supporting
But then she would still be bad. If u need a pyro healer bennet would be better, his burst alteady can heal your entire party pretty fast AND gives tahr hude AD bonus. I think it would be best if she was a shielder and did more damage the more her shield takes damage. But the she would still have to compete with thoma in that regard.
@Lucas Franzoni Bennett's healing is locked in a tiny circle. Plus, we need more pyro healers we can't just have Bennett. Imagine if dehya could mitigate damage, give 100% resistance and heal all at once, she'd be like a healer and shielder combined
I actually appreciate you reminding people to not harass Dehya users in co-op, I forgot people play co-op sometimes and there's no reason to harass anyone who uses any character.

Poor dehya she was the 1st sumeru character i was kinda hyped for cause of her character design ( nahida goes second cause archon ofcourse ) now i aint even pulling her ass and oh man i hope i get mona before her when she goes on standard 💀
Yup. When all the characters leaked, I was most excited for her along with Cyno. But we've known Cyno for a long time. Cyno turned out to be pretty good but nothing meta-defining or anything. Still have fun playing him and he does decent damage. Dehya, on the other hand...just a sad state of affairs.
The problem is that Hoyo made her incomplete, and she only feels like a complete character (= C0 limited 5star) when she gets all her constellations… Only after getting all her constellations does her cooldowns and scalings etc make more sense. It’s like they want to make us keep playing for like 7 more years so we get to her C6 by losing so many pities.
This is the problem that a lot of players are ignoring, hutao becoming amazing at c1, Raiden becoming amazing at c2, players will just say, well just pull for more copies, but what happens when one day genshin locks the best effect behind c6, it's so predatory to lock character skills and effects behind more paywall after getting the character, like when other games do that, at the very least they introduce something such as a general purpose constellation so that players can eventually unlock the skills or effects through grinding, but it seems up till now genshin does not have the intent to introduce stuff such as that, 2 years into the game.
@@dinochan3560 Hu tao doesnt become amazing at c1, she's amazing at c0 too, she's just easier to use at c1. Same for Raiden, those are already very strong characters at c0 and your average f2p player has no reason to get more constellations for like 20% damage. Dehya however is worse than a 4 star at c0, and she cam compete with other c0 5 stars only when she hits her c6. It's a very different situations, and maybe they're testing the waters to see if they can get away with it and, as you said, start implement 5 stars that need c6 to be viable. For now it seems only Dehya fans are concerned and expressing their issues with Hoyo rn, but all players should start spamming Hoyo since if they see that people can ignore these things they will surely not stop at Dehya and keep this practice, so its not a problem for just Dehya fans but for the future of Genshin characters too
@@miuletzmitzu6641 hutao gets a massive boost at C1 bc no amount of skill will give you more CAs per rotation, Raiden basically doubles her output at C2, giving her insane offensive power I think the takeaway to be made is not that they're con-locking characters (bc both Hutao and Raiden function very well at C0), they just happen to have a disproportionate boost with a key constellation Dehya on the other hand is basically a C0 unit that's broken into 7 pieces
To them, that's the same thing. Easy to avoid powercreep when you go hard in the other direction. You know, instead of making the baby easy content harder like it should be!
The moment I know jumping during burst make her burst gone pretty much told me how much the devs know about their own game. They 100% didn't play it themselves.

A side note: You can still get frozen mid animation of burst which means you spam space bar meaning you could end your burst unintentionally coz jumping cancels your burst.
At least it mechanically makes sense since the attacks happen automatically and the additional player inputs are basically a QTE to increase the speed of the flurry. Unlike Raiden not working with Beidou which is actual Bullshit since even if her Burst uses Normal Atks but is considered Burst dmg, then it also shouldn't work with XQ and Yelan. Instead it only has no synergy with Beidou...

@@andrewaigalew cmiiw, beido's burst can only be triggered if a normal attack (with normal attack damage) hits an enemy, meanwhile xq and yelan's burst can be triggered with NA animation, no need to hit enemy. Raiden's burst is considered as normal attack animation thats why she works with xq and yelan, but not beidou.
Love the stats display at the bottom of the video, SUPER helpful cause having to remember stats after seeing them for a split second on other videos is hard. So GREAT video!
i really wished that her defensive utility should be like this. everytime you get hit while you're in dehya's e. Dehya takes all the damage instead and it's reduced by 50-75% and her burst would have some sort of healing. now this would make her a good tank. the idea i got this from is that. what do tanks do in games? Yes they take the damage to defend their squishier teammates but tanks also Taunt and that means you're forced to go after the tank until the taunt wears off or until the tank is defeated.
I was with the idea that when Dehya takes the dmg, it is stored in reserve, with an indication like Raiden's E chakra desiderata. And when Dehya unleashes her burst, the reserve is consumed and she heals all the teammates by the amount she took that is stored in reserve. It will act like Fa Jin of Deku in MHA, so with that, Dehya's burst gains additional buffs dependent on how much of the reserve was depleted. 50% of Max reserve: deals additional dmg based on 50% of max Hp, as if it's Shenhe quill. The % of overall reserve depleted equates to the amount of max Hp bonus she gains
They basically made her a meat shield without being a meat shield. Like at first I thought when she applied her E, when the enemies hit the character on field, they won't take damage (besides the resistance to interruption), and Dehya would be the one taking that damage. But uh no turns out both members take damage. What's the point then of making her a tank if the characters still take damage. And I thought she'd be a bit like Hu Tao, where the lower her hp the more dmg she does with her burst and with her passive talent of healing herself. Even if her burst doesn't do big damage, I thought her E would make up for it if the characters on field wouldn't take damage and it'll be transferred to Dehya. Still gonna pull for her though. I love her design and lore and her personality, so I'm willing to invest in her.
Just looking at Dehya's BURST versus something like, a single Wanderer normal attack... god dammit They really made her the power level of a single Eremite
I am so aware of what she can and can't do, but I was literally crying when I got her bc I prefarmed for her and wanted her so bad. And with my current hyper dehya team, mona, benny and sucrose, she dealt 91k with her burst and I have to say, I love her to bits!!!
I don’t even have hope that she’s going to get better with new artifacts or when Fontaine got released anymore. I mean they deliberately handicapped her in so many ways, from her skill not giving interruption resistance all the way through, and making it extremely hard for her to gain energy all by herself. If I have to find reasons to stop playing this game someday (oh and it is very close) Dehya will be at the top of the list, because it is now clear that because of simplicity of the gameplay, they are only going to save the best concepts for Liyue characters while leaving other regions from now on with mid-tier units. Poor Dehya, I’m afraid she won’t be the last.
Just stop playing Genshin and live your life. Buy some real games by working your a** off...trust me its not that hard and you will suffer less on gaming aspect.

I'm surprised you didn't talk about the meme build of the ocean set. I run her with Nahida, popsical boy (ice), and book boy (water sword). Almost every hit is causing a melt or vaporize reaction. Plus she is super damn tanky with 50k + health and the healing ability/damage from the set she uses. She doesn't do the best damage but she really is fun with this set up.
Thank you so much for the honest review. I feel like Hoyo is trying to experiment a new kit with her and they overestimate the damage mitigation mechanic by making her multipliers that low. I was very excited to finally have another off field pyro that is not Xiangling, but damn, that low uptime and multipliers is so horrible. She also the first 5 star Pyro in around 1 year and 6 months(last is Yoi from Aug 2021) so I was really looking forward to her.

This is my first video of yours I watched and I really appreciated how you were honest about Dehya giving the pros and cons. I really love her character but I agree that she has some fundamental problems right now :(
Well all I can say is that I hope all the dehya main will get either their fav dehya get some slight buff on her kit,or specific artifact set that will make her better in other update for now I wish all dehya main stay strong and have fun with her kit and master her kit.
I pulled for her cause I love her kit and her as a character. Idc about Meta & meta doesn't matter in a game with no endgame. I'm glad I got her 👌 I think she'll get an artifact set in the future to help offset her numbers, possibly when we get Fontaine since Hydro tends to scale with HP and that's a part of Dehya's scaling.
The only thing HoYo needs to do to fix her is change her burst into normal attack so it can trigger Xq and Yelan burst. Forget buffing her multiplier. Just change her burst into normal attack and she will be tons better! WHY CAN'T THEY UNDERSTAND THAT?!
Should be the opposite, doing that Will only turn her into a worse Hu Tao/Yoimiya Buffing her multipliers Will allow her to be a good character that doesnt need Yelan or Xingqiu
This is what will happen (my prediction if you will): Since she appears a lot in the story and a lot of people like her design, character, and animation from her trailer so they will want to play her, and when they do they will realize how bad she is and they will intentionally (or not, at least the thought will appear at the back of their mind once in a while) start to compare her to other characters that they can use and they will stop using her but because they like her character they might still try to make her work but then realize that they are wasting resource and time and they will just dislike her more and their opinion of her as a whole will change. Basically, for better or worse, most people care about power level tho it may vary between individuals. Unless you are doing a challenge run, handicapping yourself never feels good and intentionally using a meh character when you can use someone else is just not fun, I still use Diluc, Qiqi, and Klee sometimes when I feel like it because I like them but how many people will go out of their way to use mid-low tier character when they have other option, their usage rate is so low despite their relatively high ownership rate and I can only imagine Dehya's once she gets to the standard banner, I'm afraid even if people like her if they get her instead of whatever they want more they will start to treat her like a joke (qiqi). Even for the pure sake of variety and experimentation, there are still plenty of well-balanced and flexible albeit not top tier character in the game which is basically anyone that is not Qiqi or amber (heck even amber can be decent if you are a whale or dolphin) I only buy welkin and still can get 53 characters out of the 60 or so character in the game and almost 40 of them at level 90 crowned/lvl 9 talent, using Dehya right now will just highlight how bad she is in comparison to any other character that I have, including 4 stars. I'm not saying that everyone should care or all the characters should be top tier but I really don't like the mentality of accepting a bad deal when you deserve better. She is not Alloy, you don't get her for free nor is she a 4-star that will get to really good or at least acceptable state at C6 that you can get for free, she is a 5-star that will soon enter standard which means pure RNG to get her cons with super high opportunity cost, basically a second Qiqi. Oh and she doesn't even have much use on casual roaming/overworld unlike like Sayu, Yelan, or Wanderer. People criticize Scara for being mid without C6 Faru and or Cons but even then he is still a really good character to use in a certain scenario or in the overworld (daily, exploration, event, etc) with his ability to fly and travel quickly while also regen stamina and have low cooldown skill, have a good long-range attack that is not tied to burst/energy and being anemo giving him flexibility in build and team building. He might be mid-tier in the abyss but he maxes out the stat for anything else making him a really good value character regardless of whether you like him as a character or not which is what I hope all the characters could be. They don't have to be a top tier generalist like Bennett, Xinqiu, etc but at least I wish they could be great in some situations and not be a burden which what I feel using Dehya, Qiqi or some C0 sumeru 4 star atm. I know she will get a buff directly or not (from artifact like Kokomi or weapon like Albedo) but we don't know how much she will improve nor if we can ever get that buff at all (locked C6 4 star like faruzan) but regardless her C0 performance is the worse I have ever seen in since the game release (Qiqi, at least she is a competent healer that will keep your team alive while Dehya can't even do that well)
Oh yeah. 100% this. I love her character, her playstyle, her aesthetic, basically everything about her. Unlike Kokomi for me though, she doesn't seem to have the good uncapped potential that everyone is overlooking. Koko at least had one of the best hydro off-field applications. Dehya seems to just be missing something, that not even her C6 seems to fix. The fact she's weaker than Diluc, but competing for the same spot as him, is disappointing.
And this could be a bad thing in the future, because they surely gonna make more bad characters if Dehya sales is okay to their standard even with her bad kits, because they knew players will still pull just for the looks...
Oh, I thought "The Bell" would be a good option for her, but sadly the shield doesn't work... she still gets damaged, even if when you switch to her, she has the shield up, so it is applying it, it just doesn't work if she's not the on field char. One day this weapon will work with someone, I swear. Anyway, her kit is fun, and she's nice (like, in the story). Her kit fits her attitude, it's just kinda weirdly implemented. We'll see, it's not really a competitive game anyway, and the passive bonus, paired with Rosaria, is top tier for world exploration.
Oh thanks I won't waste my resources building it. I have a Sacrificial that just got R5'd during her banner so I'll see how that works since it's already built. Otherwise I guess I have to build my R1 Fav.

If the passive just was not so... weird. Even it's description is kinda vague, that weapon definitely shows that it comes from 1.0 ...
I doubt the Bell will ever have a good user. almost every character they release now relies on their burst uptime and weapons with hp, atk substat, etc aren't that valuable
Honestly, I think she'd be a much better unit if her burst was more of an extension of her E and less DPS (if you can call it that lmao). A burst that boosts her E's Pyro application or leaves a Suiryu-style Pyro field could've turned her into Burgeon's answer to Kuki.
@@mooddood4570 Yeah, I know. I remember when Eula got so much hate and I pulled for her anyway because she brought me back to Genshin and has kept me in Genshin since her launch. I’m okay with being a black sheep. Kokomi was another I absolutely adored so I pulled for her and she has not left my team since. I love destroying everything in Genshin with my God Eater team Eula, Zhongli, Raiden and Kokomi. Now I just need to find a team for Dehya and I’m set until Eula and Shenhe return to C6 as I promised Eula I would do for her since she’s so much fun to play. I love this game.

I really like your comment at the end of being nice. I personally play the game at a mid-high end level but mostly with a fun focus. I aim to make my characters good but also want to have fun and enjoy finding different ways to go about it. I like Dehya’s design and character in the story a lot. I hope they do buff her at least or something changes that makes people sight on her change a bit. Thank you for the video ^^
I do feel that she has a little Kokomi/Kuki syndrome, and that she'll get better with time or with a dedicated artifact set, but damn hoyo you didn't need to treat my girl like that. I'm an advocate of pulling for characters you will have fun and ignoring the damage meta slaves on a casual game (which rewards you with less than a pull for completing the hardest floor of the hardest content), but that does feel lazy, if not straight up ill-intentioned, for a 5-star character. Tighnari also got added to standart banner after his limited one and he's pretty good and very functional even at C0, but Dehya just feels like she's lacking a LOT for a character people would spend pulls on. Will gladly build her for a burning melt Ganyu if I ever lose 50/50 and get her, but that does feel bad :( Can't even have high hopes for them to give her buffs like Zhongli because of the standart banner thing, truly a shame. Guess it's time to ignore all banners on the version and save up for Baizhu Note: I'm not comparing Dehya to Kuki or Kokomi, they're very different characters. I'm just using them as examples of characters that had a bad/mid reception but ended up shining with the addition of new things to the game. Unfortunately she really doesn't seem like them.
The difference is Kokomi and Kuki still a good elemental applicators(plus heal) even before they get dedicated artifacts and Dedro updates, while Dehya on the other hand...
Whats even more scary is that it can happen on any future character at this point. I thought it would end with Tighnari simply because we havent gotten a dendro 5-star standard char yet, or maybe later on with a new 5-star standard geo char, but with Dehya when diluc already exists? Im honestly unmotivated to save at this point cause i might end up skipping banners for a character I like in the future like on Fontaine and they could just decide to put them on standard banner with a bad kit.
Well Kokomi was good from the beginning unfortunately she dropped around Raiden(another one not truly appreciated at the time)and m9st were to fixated on the critical even though she still can out dps most carries Dehya is more like Zhongli on release desperate need of a buff
He burst looks so SOOOO cool. There's so much holding her back. Unfortunately, it's not worth the detour to get my c6 r5 Pyro Archon. But who knows, maybe I get her on standard.
Thanks for your honesty. It is a shame that the developers did not give her a decent kit, it seems halfway done and that sucks because I really like the character. I want to pull for her because of that but I hope that she can be buff maybe not so much on damage but in utility like that the interruption resistance can last for all her elemental skill and the pyro application can be speed up a little bit.
That interruption resistance seems sooo good. I want to use her, Mahinda and my Tanya together as a team option. I will be summoning her thank you for the video
I’m curious: Given that Dehya is able to take damage while off field, is she able to activate The Bell while her skill is active? At any rate: Thank you for being so upfront about everything. I’m still HEAVILY debating whether I want to pull for her or not, but this video has added lots of good information to consider.
Man, I'm just so bummed about this. I know she is just gonna be on the standard banner, but god I hope Hoyoverse does something. This is like if Yae Miko came out and was trash because Dehya is like the character I've wanted the most in Sumeru.
Yae Miko was actually only decent on release. Her scalings were weird cuz of the Turrets benefitting from EM and Electro DPS in general not being favorable anywhere outside of Raiden National comps. Yae has only seen greater play with Dendro alongside Kuki and I rly hope Dehya's chance to shine comes soon as well.
@@andrewaigalew that doesn't matter, Yae was excellent to me at launch and I was clearing Abyss with ease. My point is I waited for Yae for soooo long after Inazuma's release because she was one of favorites. Dehya is the same way, only she is incredibly lackluster, which is disappointing considering how long I've waited after Sumeru's release for her... Just like Yae.

Unfortunately, I distinctly remember people did not like Yae when her gameplay was revealed. Many people called her boring. And her turrets had issues at first and hoyo went back and forth on fixing her. I didn't give a shit as I think she is one of the most visually appealing characters in the game, along with a fun personality. Pulled for her immediately. I wish her gameplay was a little more engaging but she was still doing pretty decent damage off-field. And now she's great with Dendro. Sad that Dehya's numbers are just bad. Yae was certainly doing better damage at release.
You'll get bored of her in a week and never touch her again. Especially when the new flavor of the month comes around because you seem like the type of person that would be swayed by that. Basically, what I'm saying is what a waste of Primogems. I hope you lose all your 50/50's, and I hope you every single time lose to her just to rub your bad decision in even further. Heck, she still wouldn't be good even at C6.

I missed out on the opportunity to get Yelan because I really thought I was gonna spend all my 18k primos I saved up on Deyha, now I gotta skip another patch GODDAMMIT
I have her. I have a love/hate relationship with her. It took me FOREVER to build her. I have 2 piece Emblem, 2 piece Crimson witch. And I have the Katsuragikiri Nagamasa weapon on her since it’s energy recharge and give a boost to her elemental skill damage by 6%. The only down side is that after her Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the character loses 3 Energy but regenerates 3 Energy every 2s for the next 6s. This effect can occur once every 10s. Can be triggered even when the character is not on the field. But I find this to be beneficial since I use her with Yelan and Raiden Shogun.
It’s actually out. All it does is give her more damage based on how many times she takes damage. The problem is that this will be only as strong as what we currently have right now (give or take 5%) if the recent artifact power scalings are anything to go by. And judging from her current power levels with the best artifacts we have atm, it’s not much so the damage increase won’t be much either.
See I think there where a lot of small changes they could of done to make her better increased her pyro application, increase her skill up time and even making her work with yelan or xingqiu small changes like that
Honestly, I thought they would made deyha similar to Hao tao and give her more damage each time character is dealt damage. I'm disappointed of the lost potential but still, I need the Pyro sister's
I hope this doesn’t come off as mean spirited towards your comment but I personally find it really sad that its so hard to come up with good things to say about her that we’re at the point where we’ll pull for her just for her day time movement speed passive 😭
@XanderKai Honestly, even then, that's not a good idea because we literally have control over time in game, just keep it set to night in that case! Plus, we have busted movement speed options like Sayu and Yelen, and personally, because I have both, I move 50% faster all the time with a full bar to boot!

I'm happy you have the final saying to those Coop players who harrased one another just because they are using Dehya. I mean i never met one in fact i met someone opposite to that. They were using Dehya as well. But tbh i hope Hoyoverse can fix her up the same way they did with Zhongli. I iust want her Burst to be coordinated with Yelan/Xingqui's Burst since she is my first 5* Pyro character. Burgeon is nice but i need to farm more Paradise set...oh the pain.
Just remember that Zhongli and Geo itself had to be buffed because he was so bad on release. I get that shes bad now, but that could always change in the future.
Zhongli is literaly the Geo Archon and remains a limited character Dehya on the other hand is a side character - beloved - but not the Pyro archon and to make matters worse she is pushed onto standard which many pick up as a death sentence. What use is there to Buff her - she will never be re featured on a banner hence she will not make them money anymore.

There are so many small tweaks that would've taken almost no effort to implement but could've made her at least "not trash". - Allow her second skill cast to reset it's duration so she doesn't have 10 seconds of downtime between skill uses. - Allow her burst to trigger Yelan/Xingqiu bursts, like wtf? - Totally forget about split scaling and just let her build one thing - Give her an EM scaling instead of HP to make her a designated Burgeon support, which due to her insanely slow damage ticks on her skill actually works fairly well.
I really appreciate your objective non-sensationalized reviewing of her. There is alot to question and critique for certain with her kit, but I am tired of people jumping on bandwagons and just calling characters trash and leaning into that negativity far more than is necessary. Again, there is alot to be frustrated about here regarding Dehya's release, but the way people having been going about expressing it has been non-constructive, so thanks once more for not going that route in your review.
I heard throughout the testing a rumored leak about 3.6 adding a domain for her and baizhu and it's basically how it works is that for every drain of HP is consumed in or out field can be stacked I think 3x gives a DMG buff that way basically she's incomplete now getting literally patched in the next patch. I want to use her but making us wait after all this shit is the pits. But only bright side despite c0 absolutely sucks having her now. But she's eventually cracked if all I say down the line oh and the constellations are great that's definitely plus to give. In all honesty I don't like this method next time I'm ignoring test server drama it killed my hype for her so I got yelan since I didn't have her and better that way.

I like an overload team. It’s fucking cool and she’ll follow anyone she knocks away really doggedly. With kazuha/sucrose, Bennett, and Raiden, you get the burst back real quick and overload procs really slow anyway. Overload isn’t super optimal but It looks and feels great
I'm having fun rotating with Candace and c6 Benett. She seems like one of the better candidates to run infusions on. Haven't figured out the fourth slot just yet (probably kazuha), and she has nothing on my hyperbloom or itto teams, but it is a lot of fun! I was really hoping her attacks during her burst could trigger yelan/xingqiu but I'm sure I'll find something to fill in the gaps.
Idk I can see a pattern here with 5 star characters who are to be in the standard banner being nerfed .. but Diluc Qiqi Keqing are probably exceptions, maybe there aren’t characters who have replaced ‘em yet.. that’s what bugs me, I used to main Diluc before Dendro and now it’s so hard for me to place him in any team. The more new characters we get the lesser we use older characters

@Erik Neon Even if it is, she still wouldn't be that good, and you're pigeon-holed, pretty much to one artifact set if you want to go main DPS. Furthermore, knowing Hoyo, it's probably going to be like a 10% improvement over a pre-existing set like emblem, which in my view means she will still be bad and the set is not worth the grinding and that's basically my view on all the dedicated sets.

In a way I am kind of thankful for her kit being like this. Really killed my desire to keep playing, which saves me a lot of time going forward and now I don't feel any need to keep doing those damn daily commissions for primogems. It's good to finally be free.
Fun character design. Fun personality. Good integration into the Sumeru story. Dehya had it all, and was the first character since Ganyu that I really wanted... and then this. It's not just that her kit is bad, or not powerful (I thought Kuki and Kokomi were both fine from the very start because they were both really fun to play) it's that her long cooldowns with long downtime in between make her painfully unfun to play.
Such a good character design, animations, personality, could have brought in bank but hoyo got lazy finishing her kit 😭

Fun fact, she can get frozen during her burst animation. If this happens, it cancels the burst. You can get 1 hit in, get frozen, and lose the rest of her burst. Insane, bonkers, ridiculous. They already lost me when they made her burst be a animation instead of a stance change, but this is genuinely worrying. Did they slap this together in a weekend to see what would happen and ignore all beta feedback?
No, it was worse. First beta week she was just average, but then each week they made it WORSE. It was 100% intentional, thats so sad
Yes just like the other guy posted. For those of us who followed her leaks, and really wanted her we knew from the beginning this shit was bad. She was intentionally NERFED in beta, and they knew from the start how bad she was. It was all on purpose. Now for what reason we may never know, but they 100% knew she was gonna suck and made her this way.
Not only Frozen. Her Burst will be cancelled when she got hit by Hydro Abyss Mage's bubbles (that bubble that can trap you)
And don't forget about jumping cancels her burst.

Its actually kinda funny because if you look at her constellations, it kinda shows they knew people wanted her. Her C4 fixes her own energy issues by making every burst hit generate energy and heal her.

Standard banner characters are supposedly to be like this, if you're lucky enough to lose 50/50 on same character over and over, that character will become your main eventually.

I genuinely, GENUINELY hope that Dehya can be more utilized in the future--either through a great artifact set or other support characters. Or just buffing her up in general, honestly. She's a great character and it just sucks that she's underwhelming right now.
Trust me, she won't be there's no new elements to save her. She will be forgotten just like that other dark-skinned claymore user that Hoyovese seems to dislike to the point where they never even fixed her massive bug despite giving everyone a copy in an event!
Hopefully artifacts but if it's characters then that's just worse since you might be forced to pull for a character you don't like just to make dehya good.

theres only 3 options, BP, abyss and map exploration, and this come in many ways, i have a lv20 tigniari paired with mona 90, keqing 65 and xianling 70 doing lay lines and i just love how i get fun with that, focus on how you can get fun for every character you have, forget the meta and the crazy numbers theres no way it can make any improvment in your game here because hitting 20K with every character is just fine i have clear the abyss with that, only in pvp gachas exist that not here
The crazy part is that this is dehya at "high investments". Imagine how much damage she does at low investments.
Yup its already been calculated by the math people. Base Dehya does less damage than all 4 stars. She has lower scaling than all claymore users as well. C6 dehya with hundreds of dollars spend is barely at c0 Hutao. Still slightly worse. Its insane, and possible criminal they made her this bad ;p

I actually quite like the tank aspect of her skill. It just really sucks that the pyro application is slow and it's got that dumb Albedo style proc. She could have been a good support if they just made the skill a normal AoE that went a off a bit faster.

Dehya was the one Sumeru character I wanted to pull from the moment she first showed up. I'm so disappointed that I'm now second-guessing on whether I should pull her. I normally don't care about meta, but I'm worried that I'll end up benching her after a while when I start having to pull out other characters to more quickly beat domains.
She wasn't the only Sumeru character I wanted to pull for (Al Haitham was my other) but otherwise I'm in the same boat. I don't want invest all the mats and such if I won't end up ever using her

Same for me. Pulled for her because she'll move to standard and I'd rather regret pulling her than regret not pulling her. Once she moves to standard it could take thousands of wishes to get her c0, I'm pretty much gonna bench her after testing her today and im deeply disappointed, but other characters were also shit before new artifacts/characters released so im still a bit hopeful. So it depends on how much you like her, for me i've never wanted a characters this badly before so I went for it, but if you judge characters based on strength more than yeah save your wishes.

Dehya should've healed her party members per hit during her burst and her skill resistance should've lasted for the whole duration. It would make her so much better in terms of supporting
But then she would still be bad. If u need a pyro healer bennet would be better, his burst alteady can heal your entire party pretty fast AND gives tahr hude AD bonus. I think it would be best if she was a shielder and did more damage the more her shield takes damage. But the she would still have to compete with thoma in that regard.

Yup. When all the characters leaked, I was most excited for her along with Cyno. But we've known Cyno for a long time. Cyno turned out to be pretty good but nothing meta-defining or anything. Still have fun playing him and he does decent damage.
Dehya, on the other hand...just a sad state of affairs.
The problem is that Hoyo made her incomplete, and she only feels like a complete character (= C0 limited 5star) when she gets all her constellations… Only after getting all her constellations does her cooldowns and scalings etc make more sense. It’s like they want to make us keep playing for like 7 more years so we get to her C6 by losing so many pities.
This is the problem that a lot of players are ignoring, hutao becoming amazing at c1, Raiden becoming amazing at c2, players will just say, well just pull for more copies, but what happens when one day genshin locks the best effect behind c6, it's so predatory to lock character skills and effects behind more paywall after getting the character, like when other games do that, at the very least they introduce something such as a general purpose constellation so that players can eventually unlock the skills or effects through grinding, but it seems up till now genshin does not have the intent to introduce stuff such as that, 2 years into the game.
@@dinochan3560 Hu tao doesnt become amazing at c1, she's amazing at c0 too, she's just easier to use at c1. Same for Raiden, those are already very strong characters at c0 and your average f2p player has no reason to get more constellations for like 20% damage. Dehya however is worse than a 4 star at c0, and she cam compete with other c0 5 stars only when she hits her c6. It's a very different situations, and maybe they're testing the waters to see if they can get away with it and, as you said, start implement 5 stars that need c6 to be viable.
For now it seems only Dehya fans are concerned and expressing their issues with Hoyo rn, but all players should start spamming Hoyo since if they see that people can ignore these things they will surely not stop at Dehya and keep this practice, so its not a problem for just Dehya fans but for the future of Genshin characters too

I think the takeaway to be made is not that they're con-locking characters (bc both Hutao and Raiden function very well at C0), they just happen to have a disproportionate boost with a key constellation
Dehya on the other hand is basically a C0 unit that's broken into 7 pieces

A side note: You can still get frozen mid animation of burst which means you spam space bar meaning you could end your burst unintentionally coz jumping cancels your burst.

At least it mechanically makes sense since the attacks happen automatically and the additional player inputs are basically a QTE to increase the speed of the flurry. Unlike Raiden not working with Beidou which is actual Bullshit since even if her Burst uses Normal Atks but is considered Burst dmg, then it also shouldn't work with XQ and Yelan. Instead it only has no synergy with Beidou...

@@andrewaigalew cmiiw, beido's burst can only be triggered if a normal attack (with normal attack damage) hits an enemy, meanwhile xq and yelan's burst can be triggered with NA animation, no need to hit enemy. Raiden's burst is considered as normal attack animation thats why she works with xq and yelan, but not beidou.

i really wished that her defensive utility should be like this. everytime you get hit while you're in dehya's e. Dehya takes all the damage instead and it's reduced by 50-75% and her burst would have some sort of healing. now this would make her a good tank. the idea i got this from is that. what do tanks do in games? Yes they take the damage to defend their squishier teammates but tanks also Taunt and that means you're forced to go after the tank until the taunt wears off or until the tank is defeated.

I was with the idea that when Dehya takes the dmg, it is stored in reserve, with an indication like Raiden's E chakra desiderata. And when Dehya unleashes her burst, the reserve is consumed and she heals all the teammates by the amount she took that is stored in reserve.
It will act like Fa Jin of Deku in MHA, so with that, Dehya's burst gains additional buffs dependent on how much of the reserve was depleted. 50% of Max reserve: deals additional dmg based on 50% of max Hp, as if it's Shenhe quill.
The % of overall reserve depleted equates to the amount of max Hp bonus she gains

They basically made her a meat shield without being a meat shield. Like at first I thought when she applied her E, when the enemies hit the character on field, they won't take damage (besides the resistance to interruption), and Dehya would be the one taking that damage. But uh no turns out both members take damage. What's the point then of making her a tank if the characters still take damage. And I thought she'd be a bit like Hu Tao, where the lower her hp the more dmg she does with her burst and with her passive talent of healing herself. Even if her burst doesn't do big damage, I thought her E would make up for it if the characters on field wouldn't take damage and it'll be transferred to Dehya.
Still gonna pull for her though. I love her design and lore and her personality, so I'm willing to invest in her.

I am so aware of what she can and can't do, but I was literally crying when I got her bc I prefarmed for her and wanted her so bad. And with my current hyper dehya team, mona, benny and sucrose, she dealt 91k with her burst and I have to say, I love her to bits!!!

I don’t even have hope that she’s going to get better with new artifacts or when Fontaine got released anymore. I mean they deliberately handicapped her in so many ways, from her skill not giving interruption resistance all the way through, and making it extremely hard for her to gain energy all by herself. If I have to find reasons to stop playing this game someday (oh and it is very close) Dehya will be at the top of the list, because it is now clear that because of simplicity of the gameplay, they are only going to save the best concepts for Liyue characters while leaving other regions from now on with mid-tier units. Poor Dehya, I’m afraid she won’t be the last.

I run her with Nahida, popsical boy (ice), and book boy (water sword). Almost every hit is causing a melt or vaporize reaction. Plus she is super damn tanky with 50k + health and the healing ability/damage from the set she uses. She doesn't do the best damage but she really is fun with this set up.
Thank you so much for the honest review. I feel like Hoyo is trying to experiment a new kit with her and they overestimate the damage mitigation mechanic by making her multipliers that low. I was very excited to finally have another off field pyro that is not Xiangling, but damn, that low uptime and multipliers is so horrible. She also the first 5 star Pyro in around 1 year and 6 months(last is Yoi from Aug 2021) so I was really looking forward to her.

This is what will happen (my prediction if you will): Since she appears a lot in the story and a lot of people like her design, character, and animation from her trailer so they will want to play her, and when they do they will realize how bad she is and they will intentionally (or not, at least the thought will appear at the back of their mind once in a while) start to compare her to other characters that they can use and they will stop using her but because they like her character they might still try to make her work but then realize that they are wasting resource and time and they will just dislike her more and their opinion of her as a whole will change.
Basically, for better or worse, most people care about power level tho it may vary between individuals. Unless you are doing a challenge run, handicapping yourself never feels good and intentionally using a meh character when you can use someone else is just not fun, I still use Diluc, Qiqi, and Klee sometimes when I feel like it because I like them but how many people will go out of their way to use mid-low tier character when they have other option, their usage rate is so low despite their relatively high ownership rate and I can only imagine Dehya's once she gets to the standard banner, I'm afraid even if people like her if they get her instead of whatever they want more they will start to treat her like a joke (qiqi). Even for the pure sake of variety and experimentation, there are still plenty of well-balanced and flexible albeit not top tier character in the game which is basically anyone that is not Qiqi or amber (heck even amber can be decent if you are a whale or dolphin)
I only buy welkin and still can get 53 characters out of the 60 or so character in the game and almost 40 of them at level 90 crowned/lvl 9 talent, using Dehya right now will just highlight how bad she is in comparison to any other character that I have, including 4 stars. I'm not saying that everyone should care or all the characters should be top tier but I really don't like the mentality of accepting a bad deal when you deserve better. She is not Alloy, you don't get her for free nor is she a 4-star that will get to really good or at least acceptable state at C6 that you can get for free, she is a 5-star that will soon enter standard which means pure RNG to get her cons with super high opportunity cost, basically a second Qiqi. Oh and she doesn't even have much use on casual roaming/overworld unlike like Sayu, Yelan, or Wanderer.
People criticize Scara for being mid without C6 Faru and or Cons but even then he is still a really good character to use in a certain scenario or in the overworld (daily, exploration, event, etc) with his ability to fly and travel quickly while also regen stamina and have low cooldown skill, have a good long-range attack that is not tied to burst/energy and being anemo giving him flexibility in build and team building. He might be mid-tier in the abyss but he maxes out the stat for anything else making him a really good value character regardless of whether you like him as a character or not which is what I hope all the characters could be. They don't have to be a top tier generalist like Bennett, Xinqiu, etc but at least I wish they could be great in some situations and not be a burden which what I feel using Dehya, Qiqi or some C0 sumeru 4 star atm.
I know she will get a buff directly or not (from artifact like Kokomi or weapon like Albedo) but we don't know how much she will improve nor if we can ever get that buff at all (locked C6 4 star like faruzan) but regardless her C0 performance is the worse I have ever seen in since the game release (Qiqi, at least she is a competent healer that will keep your team alive while Dehya can't even do that well)
Oh yeah. 100% this. I love her character, her playstyle, her aesthetic, basically everything about her. Unlike Kokomi for me though, she doesn't seem to have the good uncapped potential that everyone is overlooking. Koko at least had one of the best hydro off-field applications. Dehya seems to just be missing something, that not even her C6 seems to fix. The fact she's weaker than Diluc, but competing for the same spot as him, is disappointing.

Oh, I thought "The Bell" would be a good option for her, but sadly the shield doesn't work... she still gets damaged, even if when you switch to her, she has the shield up, so it is applying it, it just doesn't work if she's not the on field char. One day this weapon will work with someone, I swear. Anyway, her kit is fun, and she's nice (like, in the story). Her kit fits her attitude, it's just kinda weirdly implemented. We'll see, it's not really a competitive game anyway, and the passive bonus, paired with Rosaria, is top tier for world exploration.
Oh thanks I won't waste my resources building it. I have a Sacrificial that just got R5'd during her banner so I'll see how that works since it's already built. Otherwise I guess I have to build my R1 Fav.

Honestly, I think she'd be a much better unit if her burst was more of an extension of her E and less DPS (if you can call it that lmao). A burst that boosts her E's Pyro application or leaves a Suiryu-style Pyro field could've turned her into Burgeon's answer to Kuki.

Kokomi was another I absolutely adored so I pulled for her and she has not left my team since. I love destroying everything in Genshin with my God Eater team Eula, Zhongli, Raiden and Kokomi. I do feel that she has a little Kokomi/Kuki syndrome, and that she'll get better with time or with a dedicated artifact set, but damn hoyo you didn't need to treat my girl like that. I'm an advocate of pulling for characters you will have fun and ignoring the damage meta slaves on a casual game (which rewards you with less than a pull for completing the hardest floor of the hardest content), but that does feel lazy, if not straight up ill-intentioned, for a 5-star character. Tighnari also got added to standart banner after his limited one and he's pretty good and very functional even at C0, but Dehya just feels like she's lacking a LOT for a character people would spend pulls on. Will gladly build her for a burning melt Ganyu if I ever lose 50/50 and get her, but that does feel bad :(

Note: I'm not comparing Dehya to Kuki or Kokomi, they're very different characters. I'm just using them as examples of characters that had a bad/mid reception but ended up shining with the addition of new things to the game. Unfortunately she really doesn't seem like them.
The difference is Kokomi and Kuki still a good elemental applicators(plus heal) even before they get dedicated artifacts and Dedro updates, while Dehya on the other hand...
Whats even more scary is that it can happen on any future character at this point. I thought it would end with Tighnari simply because we havent gotten a dendro 5-star standard char yet, or maybe later on with a new 5-star standard geo char, but with Dehya when diluc already exists? Im honestly unmotivated to save at this point cause i might end up skipping banners for a character I like in the future like on Fontaine and they could just decide to put them on standard banner with a bad kit.

Man, I'm just so bummed about this. I know she is just gonna be on the standard banner, but god I hope Hoyoverse does something. This is like if Yae Miko came out and was trash because Dehya is like the character I've wanted the most in Sumeru.
Yae Miko was actually only decent on release. Her scalings were weird cuz of the Turrets benefitting from EM and Electro DPS in general not being favorable anywhere outside of Raiden National comps. Yae has only seen greater play with Dendro alongside Kuki and I rly hope Dehya's chance to shine comes soon as well.
There's no new element that will save her like Yae was, so not happening.

My point is I waited for Yae for soooo long after Inazuma's release because she was one of favorites. Unfortunately, I distinctly remember people did not like Yae when her gameplay was revealed. Many people called her boring. And her turrets had issues at first and hoyo went back and forth on fixing her. I didn't give a shit as I think she is one of the most visually appealing characters in the game, along with a fun personality. Pulled for her immediately. I wish her gameplay was a little more engaging but she was still doing pretty decent damage off-field. And now she's great with Dendro.
Sad that Dehya's numbers are just bad. Yae was certainly doing better damage at release.

I have her. I have a love/hate relationship with her. It took me FOREVER to build her. I have 2 piece Emblem, 2 piece Crimson witch. And I have the Katsuragikiri Nagamasa weapon on her since it’s energy recharge and give a boost to her elemental skill damage by 6%. The only down side is that after her Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the character loses 3 Energy but regenerates 3 Energy every 2s for the next 6s. This effect can occur once every 10s. Can be triggered even when the character is not on the field. But I find this to be beneficial since I use her with Yelan and Raiden Shogun.

It’s actually out. All it does is give her more damage based on how many times she takes damage. The problem is that this will be only as strong as what we currently have right now (give or take 5%) if the recent artifact power scalings are anything to go by. And judging from her current power levels with the best artifacts we have atm, it’s not much so the damage increase won’t be much either.
To give her artifact set that buffs her enough to be able to compete with xiangling, you would need to essentially triple her damage.
See I think there where a lot of small changes they could of done to make her better increased her pyro application, increase her skill up time and even making her work with yelan or xingqiu small changes like that

Plus, we have busted movement speed options like Sayu and Yelen, and personally, because I have both, I move 50% faster all the time with a full bar to boot!

I'm happy you have the final saying to those Coop players who harrased one another just because they are using Dehya. I mean i never met one in fact i met someone opposite to that. They were using Dehya as well. But tbh i hope Hoyoverse can fix her up the same way they did with Zhongli. Dehya on the other hand is a side character - beloved - but not the Pyro archon and to make matters worse she is pushed onto standard which many pick up as a death sentence. What use is there to Buff her - she will never be re featured on a banner hence she will not make them money anymore.

There are so many small tweaks that would've taken almost no effort to implement but could've made her at least "not trash".
- Allow her second skill cast to reset it's duration so she doesn't have 10 seconds of downtime between skill uses.
- Allow her burst to trigger Yelan/Xingqiu bursts, like wtf?
- Totally forget about split scaling and just let her build one thing

I genuinly believe Hoyoverse is racist towards characters with melanin.
I pulled her, gave her the same artifacts and weapon that was on my diluc yet she deals less than half than what my diluc can deal.
I really appreciate your objective non-sensationalized reviewing of her. There is alot to question and critique for certain with her kit, but I am tired of people jumping on bandwagons and just calling characters trash and leaning into that negativity far more than is necessary. Again, there is alot to be frustrated about here regarding Dehya's release, but the way people having been going about expressing it has been non-constructive, so thanks once more for not going that route in your review.
Wow her burst doesn't trigger xingqiu or yelans attacks. They nerfed her pretty bad.
I heard throughout the testing a rumored leak about 3.6 adding a domain for her and baizhu and it's basically how it works is that for every drain of HP is consumed in or out field can be stacked I think 3x gives a DMG buff that way basically she's incomplete now getting literally patched in the next patch. I want to use her but making us wait after all this shit is the pits. But only bright side despite c0 absolutely sucks having her now. But she's eventually cracked if all I say down the line oh and the constellations are great that's definitely plus to give. In all honesty I don't like this method next time I'm ignoring test server drama it killed my hype for her so I got yelan since I didn't have her and better that way.

I like an overload team. It’s fucking cool and she’ll follow anyone she knocks away really doggedly. With kazuha/sucrose, Bennett, and Raiden, you get the burst back real quick and overload procs really slow anyway. Overload isn’t super optimal but It looks and feels great
man this is sad alot of people where excited to see her finally out but i guess i will save my wishes for ayaka
I'm having fun rotating with Candace and c6 Benett. She seems like one of the better candidates to run infusions on. Haven't figured out the fourth slot just yet (probably kazuha), and she has nothing on my hyperbloom or itto teams, but it is a lot of fun! I was really hoping her attacks during her burst could trigger yelan/xingqiu but I'm sure I'll find something to fill in the gaps.

Idk I can see a pattern here with 5 star characters who are to be in the standard banner being nerfed .. but Diluc Qiqi Keqing are probably exceptions, maybe there aren’t characters who have replaced ‘em yet.. that’s what bugs me, I used to main Diluc before Dendro and now it’s so hard for me to place him in any team. The more new characters we get the lesser we use older characters
