Good to see you back Dave mate. Like you I generally use a swivel to join my leader to the main line, but as someone mentioned you have to be careful not to damage your tip ring. What I do is to thread on one or even two soft rubber beads on your main line and stop reeling when they hit the tip ring.
Great stuff yes we seen good weather on its way and luckily we both had time off from work so a last minute thing was planned...it was very cold at times though and sweating later in the same day thats Scotland for you lol...tightlines bud
Nice one lads, I lived in kyleakin for just over a year as I was rebuilding a big B&B after it was destroyed in a fire, the owner was a keen fisherman and owned a boat so ended up being really good mates, loch na beiste which is a cove in loch alsh has a ship wreck and you can see parts of it on low tide, we caught some massive fish around that area so I'm planning a trip up in mid June with my kayak 👍
@northumberlandmountainhopper haha great stuff the isle of skye is incredible not just for fishing...spectacular scenery...walking .. wildlife.. well worth a visit.. I hope you enjoy your trip with the son and enjoy the videos
Ahh it's great to have you back davie 👍🏻 as always a fantastic video 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻 some cracking Pollock 🎣 pitty about the big one but at least you got the scrap out of it 🎣 and I'm pretty sure they'll be plenty more like that for you in the coming months 😉😉🎣🎣 Regards Arnie
Well done guys! I can’t get over how calm the water is in most of your videos. Beautiful area. You gotta get a little camp stove and do a video of you catching and cooking lunch right next to the water. I have mentioned that before , but I get it if you don’t want to kill the fish , I just think they are so delicious fresh out of the water! Thanks for sharing.
Always love your comments...yes the calm water is when the fishing is best..it can be extremely rough though at times so I have to pick my days and places very carefully..on the opposite side of skye it was scarily rough ...one day ill cook that fish for sure...thanks so much for your comment 👍 tightlines
Hi j.v brilliant video as always..skye is really beautiful so it is it's on my to do list so will get up there one day..they pollock you and Steve were catching were really good scrappers so well done to both of yous ..looking forward to your next vids keep up the good wok bud 👍
Thanks Scott ...yes get yourself up to skye its incredible picture postcard around every turn...even if the fish don't turn up its just a blessing to be there...enjoy mate tightlines
Yeah j.v spoke to my pal last night so gonna head up there soon..can u pass some info on the spot you were at be much appreciated..just over the bridge and down to the left that stretch of coastline a take it ?
Absolutely love it dave,so pleased you decided to come back on RUclips, been following you for years,im up skye in mid june for 4 days with the wife im allowed 1 days fishing 😂keep up the great content and tight lines in the future 🎣🎣
Great video some fantastic fish caught by yourself and Steve. I'm off to Mull skye harris and Lewis in June hoping to catch some fish while on family trip
Blast from the past Davey. Lovely to see you doing what you love still. Just getting back into the rock hopping again pal. Been years. And popped your user name in here just incase, sure enough there you are. Hope you're well mate... Greg 😊
Hello Dave, enjoyed your latest video saw you was using the seekers and catching nice ones, Glasgow angling are selling a lure called Hunt Fish eagle, they are identical to the seeker for more than half the price, just had four posted to Ireland to try, they are an amazing lure and very reasonably priced. Regards Keith.
Hi Davey! Watched this last night and forgot to put a comment on. Good job I decided to watch it again eh 😂. Lovely to see you back on the fish with that big smile on your face. Suns out now, we are all starting to feel a bit better for it. New rod looks sweet, Im going to get a bit heavier one next time I go up to Stranraer. Stevie in the shop up there really knows his stuff. He talked to me about a penn rod last time i went up and ive been thinking about it for the last month 😂😂.
Get in mate cheers for the comment 👍 yes the smile is back and the sun is shining...penn make a good rod...if you go too light with pollack at a very kelpy spot most of the time a big fish will win...its good to have a lighter rod for fun and a stronger rod too if you are losing fish to the kelp..im hoping to go over there soon 😀 so happy days ...tightlines 😀 👍
Glad you enjoyed mate 👍 i mainly get my stuff at the local shop...agm online..blackdog tackle online ..veals or glasgow angling..hope that helps..this yearso far ive found lutes around 30g are best that are multicoloured instead of just plain silver..tightlines 😉
Another great video JV, keep em coming. I’m going to Mull in June and hope I do as well you. I’ll probably copy your lure selection ps what did you think about your new rod
@user-uh7er6el1k it was ok tbh maybe a little slow service ...breakfast was nothing special and the drinks at the bar were expensive but if you just want a base its fairly chep as skye goes...you can get cheaper places but they will likely be back packing shared dormitories
@@jarrowvikingsinsaneangling9785 thanks Dave I sometimes do the same as you lads did but up Ullpool just the other side just thought l would have a change it's a bit hit and miss up there 🐟🎣
just one fish on it frosty.. they just didn't want the 60g heavier lures for some reason...it was mainly the 30g lures fished slowly ..i think the fish must be a bit sluggish in the cold water..thanks for your comment 👍
What a great trip eh!!! Gutted you lost that bigger fish mate. But at least you felt it and got it up. Well done mate and thanks for your company. Great craic as always 🎣👍
