One day I'd like to turn this type of work into my own small business. Fix a massive variety of low-liability things, for anyone who's willing to pay for that repair. The art of repair (hell, even maintenance) is basically gone these days, as we all know. Good work as always.
economics don't work. People ask me to fix their reels but usually what it makes economics sense to pay for fixing an old reel is not worth my time. In this case i do it for the video and for the fun but otherwise wont be worth it..
Hello sir.. your video has me ready to do this same work on several of my reels. You mentioned that some of the replacement parts were from China. What are the best sites to use, what keywords should I use... All help is appreciated!
I don't do this any more, i apologize. I had a couple of cases where people had problems buying from places i told them and it ended up seeming like it was my fault, even though i never recommended those places. People get upset because it is impossible to return something if it is defective or u dont like it. I don't tell people where to shop any more just to stay out of trouble ..
Love the video victor! For those bearings I use houdini spray. It’s meant for locks but man o man it works really well for getting grease out of bearings! It makes them crazy smooth about 80% of time.
@@ifishcatfish haha no worries brother! You are doing a great job. That’s very humble and professional of you! Always protect your brand that even means not siding on certain points or topics!
I enjoy these videos Victor. Always good to know how to maintain spinning and baitcasting reels. I do have a question though. If I were to order several different sized hybrid ceramic bearings, are their common sized ones I should be looking for?
No common sizes at all. Every brand has their own sizes. Most of mine similar cos i mostly work on shimanos. But every now and then i have other projects and they are always different. Remove besring first, messure it and google it. Sometimes amazon will have a good price and u get it next day
amzn.to/3RlLQtX I don't know why i remembered 'silicone'. It doesn't say silicone. My memory is terrible : ). It is water based tho and i am comfortable using it. I use it to clean the guides on my rods before every trip with a q-tip
Looking for a good mono/fluro line from varivas for a ultegra spinning reel. Strong and no/little memory. For redfish and trout. Not happy with braids. Thanks Vic. Keep the lessons coming professor.
I love the Twitchmaster nylon. Cheap and very little stretch and very thin. And good color. But all of their lines are good, to be honest, u dont need the expensive ones
This is so cool! I am happy to try them again!
I don’t understand why I_fish only has 13k subs. I could watch this dude break down reels for days.
thank you 😊
Reel nerd😊
Love the reel maintenance videos, Realistic fishing is a great channel too.
thank you sir!
These vids are so satisfying. Your making me want to start digging through some of my reels I discontinued and see what I can do with them
u gona never wana throw them if u do this. It gives them personality...

Great video; very informative. I'm starting to gain some insight into bearings from your instruction. Thanks.
thanks Rob!
This was such an interesting and informative video!! I truly enjoyed watching you restore Alex's reel!! Thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks for not being lazy and dropping a comment! :)
Most welcome :)

@@ifishcatfish I totally understand Victor, thank you for the reply.
Fantastic work! Great video. Very enjoyable viewing. Thank you.
thanks D
Couldn't wait for this video. Thank you so much for these videos!

Excellent video sir

I can try that but not on video. Otherwise i will never hear the end of it.. my customers can be a tough crowd sometimes :)

What is the water based silicone cleaner are you using here? Thanks.

Another great maintenance and repair! Only thing I would of done is paint the new handle to match but that does 0 for the performance ha ha
i don't have the skill for that. Every time i do it the paint peels off and looks HORRIBLE. At least this is kind of consistent : )
@13:44 "This looks so familiar but I dont know from where"
When I saw that I was like "is this Okuma's cousin?"
i haven't opened an Okuma in many years
@@ifishcatfish the cover on the anti reverse gave that impression. I wouldnt be shocked if these reels are the same since the rotor also looks similar
Enjoyed.
I hav caught hundreds of fish trolling with my 13 fate black and okuma itx combo without one issue
Not one issue? U never forgot to put the plug on the boat once?
Yes I've had to use the bilge pump,ha ha
@@darcywood4637 me too, at least once every year..
Nice job
thank you!
Did Realistic get the Ozark Trail reel back yet?
yes. he got this one too! It took me a while to edit it but he has both of them back.
❤
I too take bites out of my knobs when fishing gets rough
does it help with fishing, sir? Or just helps with the nerves? 😂
@@ifishcatfish yeah, just with the anxiety that any second the big one will bite 🤣
@@technicallycorrect838 U don't need no aluminum knobs then. It will really jack your dentist bill

Knob looks like eaten by mice.
Yes. Dog. Possibly a Labrador. They love putting things in their mouth.
