This gave me a tingle inside... LOL... I was Smartpunks Soundguy... I read the posts, and I got a couple answers from behind the scenes... The Smartpunk stage was a "B" stage and warped management didn't expect that kind of crowd... the guys in yellow were assigned to my stage and part of the tour,,,, the guys in blue were contracted locally,,, and they got scared... pretty sure they didn't understand the scene of the times... LOL.
Super cool! This must’ve been right at the time when Underoath’s popularity really started to take off. Also telling, how they only played one song from they’re only chasing safety
I can't help laughing at Chris just gettin' it on that keyboard. Even when he's not playing he's just jammin' that head... I wonder if he has migranes at night.
I have to say I am very diss appointed with a lot of the comments here. This is an awesome look at a band that had no idea they were about hit certified gold two albums in a row.
From what I gather, the large security guard in the light blue shirt grabs the kid directly by his trachea/throat at 12:47 and 3 other guards have to carry him to safety because he can't get to his feet. Tim took note and shoves the guard at 12:37..and you can see the band's reaction at the end of the set. An amazing band, I hope they spoke to someone about the abusive handling.
I know this is a super old comment, on an even older video, but absolutely can't stand tough guy security. I understand they're trying to keep everyone safe, but dude cushed that kids throat, wtf. I guess that why I prefer local shows with minimal security that understand what's going on
First off there was no need for that many security guys in front of the stage to begin with. Then there was no need to use that much force to subdue the guy. He had already stopped resisting and at that point was trying to get the security guard to stop choking him. If it was someone from the crowd, this wouldn't have happened if security had done their job to begin with and payed attention to the front of the stage and the sides.
Dude those “security guards” are ridiculous!!! The crowd should’ve just tore them up honestly. For anyone who knows who “Metro-State” and Jeremy Dewitte, these guys remind me of them & If you don’t know, search it up. GREAT entertainment.
Ok, so some clarification please. Is this with Spencer or Dallas? I'm asking because they dropped off the Warped tour in 2003 I think and booted Dallas from the band. Was that because of this incident? Or was this them actually playing on the 2004 tour with Dallas? Some of these dates are wrong as far as members go. Just wondering. Thanks!
Dallas left Underoath in July 2003, days before that year's Warped Tour. They canceled that date, calling in Matt Tarpey to fill in for a small tour in August and September. In October 2003 Spencer arrives, and the following year they are summoned again for the Warped Tour
@@sethh4628 Pretty sure Spencer wrote his parts on this record tho. I know there's an early version of Reinventing Your Exit with Dallas, and some elements were recycled, but Spencer contributed a lot to TOCS. Saying he did "karaoke" on this record is kinda underselling his contribution here.
No offense to an awesome musician, but with all of the moving around he does...I wonder how the hell he isn't a much skinnier man...? Also, what's the name of the first song in the video? I do keyboard covers for my channel and wouldn't mind covering that one...?

20 years man. Damn we’re getting old.
This band is amazing man. I'm not really into this style of music anymore, but I will always love underoath. Great song writing.

What a show, wish I could see them live in this golden era.
angel below, reinventing your exit, when the sun sleeps
10 years and only 13 likes for this legend. Disgraceful.
These security guards have never seen a punk show, and Tim was NOT having it
Jackson The Epic you call that punk music? Lol
Miss they play When Sun Still Sleeps :(
They should add it again on their setlist
when the sun sleeps..... :'( I miss you guys so much
The man on the keyboard is a hero

The guy on the keyboard is my favorite.
Stacie Digby Chris Dudley

Hard to disagree bere

it was probably this year that they stopped playing these old songs...
This must have been awesome to see live, the video quality isn't the best but such a great set of songs.
epic live...there isn't anything to say...timothy you are the best here
I love the fish lens haha
from 12:43 to the end if anybody was wondering. my favorite part was at 13:39
Icepack to the neck! I met him at the front gate of the Las Vegas 4th of July show in 2004.. great ass year.
the guitarists messed up so much, but who cares, it's underoath ;)
I wish they still played While She Sleeps and Angel Below

13:57 no matter how rich I am I would never do that A Gibson
gosh..... i miss those times...

I'd thought you come back.

Spencer did karaoke not just for TCOT, but through TOCS. This versions of Underoath’s first real album was DTGL.
This lineup’s first record was TOCS.
