Plan Francey and Le Moléson

This is the last of our Switzerland trip excursion videos. Whew 😅.
This trek took us to a small town outside of Gruyère called Moléson. We found another mountain coaster for Ken to try out. He had a blast and there was no line so he just continually rode for 4 times.
Afterwards we headed up the mountain in a really cool funicular to Plan Francey and then moved onto a very large cable car. The cable car passed by mountain climbers doing the Via Ferrata (a “via ferrata” translates as “iron path” in English. It refers to metal rungs, ladders or permanently fixed safety wire as a means of crossing otherwise tricky and steep rocky terrain). We finally reached the summit of Le Moléson (6568 feet). I went on a short solo ridge hike that gave way to steep drops on either side of the trail. Eek, but awesome!! I forgot my trekking poles so I was a little uneasy on the steeper slopes.
There was a nice restaurant and cafe at the top with seating inside and outside to take in all the amazing views. We enjoyed watching the paragliders jump before heading back down the mountain.
Switzerland did not disappoint! It is as beautiful as the photos you see and everyone was so nice. We saw a lot in 2 weeks, but there is definitely so much more to see!! We hope you’ve like watching our videos and they have inspired you to explore these places too. Until next time…
