South Lake Tahoe Mountain Coaster
What a great way to spend my husbands birthday! This mountain coaster was a lot of fun! A bit pricey at $117 for the gondola and 1 coaster ride. Once you’re at the top, you can purchase additional rides for $25. Still expensive but worth at least one go around.

Hike up to Mission Peak, the iconic Bay Area peak.
Просмотров 646 месяцев назад
Join us as we hike to the top of Mission Peak. I know some folks do this trail frequently as a work-out, but for this chick, it was my first time and I was worried about the ascent/descent and my cranky arthritic knees, ankles and toes, but guess what?! We made it! We did that! Woohoo! #missionpeak #hiking #california
Plan Francey and Le Moléson
Просмотров 248 месяцев назад
This is the last of our Switzerland trip excursion videos. Whew 😅. This trek took us to a small town outside of Gruyère called Moléson. We found another mountain coaster for Ken to try out. He had a blast and there was no line so he just continually rode for 4 times. Afterwards we headed up the mountain in a really cool funicular to Plan Francey and then moved onto a very large cable car. The c...
Cailler Chocolate Class
Просмотров 209 месяцев назад
A day in the life of Cailler Chocolate. We had an 11am chocolate class booked at Maison Cailler. It exceeded our expectations and was so much fun. I highly recommend (25 CHF / $27.50 per person) - worth every penny. We got to make our own chocolate bar, enjoy samples and learn all about how chocolate is processed from the bean to the bar. #familyadventure #switzerland #cailler #chocolate #gruyere
Trek to Trümmelbach Falls, Lauterbrunnen Switzerland 🇨🇭

Our hike from Lauterbrunnen Valley to Trümmelbachfalle was delicious. We made our way down to the river (Weisse Lütschine) where we criss-crossed, passing through farm fields until we made it to the falls. We paid the entrance fee (14 CHF per person ($15.50)) and made our way to the funicular that takes you up into the middle of the falls. From their website - With its 10 glacial water falls in...

Hike to Stellisee Lake, Zermatt, Switzerland 🇨🇭

A funicular takes 4.5 minutes straight through a mountain tunnel to Sunnegga. At Sunnegga you switch to a 6-person cable car which takes you up to Blauherd. This is where the most beautiful hike begins! Stunning views of the Matterhorn all the way; we were above the clouds. It is a 2 mile out and back hike to Stellisee, an amazing lake which on a calm day you can get that perfect Matterhorn ref...
Drumheller, Canada Badlands
Просмотров 18Год назад
So I wasn’t originally planning on doing this teeny tiny video on Drumheller, however… None of us were really ready to jump back into “city life”, in Calgary so we decided to drive 1.5 hours to Drumheller, the “Badlands of Canada”. I’m sad I didn’t take more footage (maybe I was just tired from our previous days of adventuring, and it was 90 F degrees outside 🥵). But here is what I have. It’s a...
Glacier National Park in a day+

Our road trip from Canmore, Canada to Glacier National Park started today! We enjoyed listening to 3 different podcasts along the way, two about Glacier National Park. One by “Dirt In My Shoes” and another by “Gaze In The National Parks” which provided some great insight on a few trails and how to navigate the park system. We also enjoyed another random one by “National Park After Dark” about S...

Update: Apologies for the double upload. I had to reload with better resolution and a couple of outtakes 🤣 Our 2023 trip to Canada, included Banff, Jasper and a side trip down to Montana to Glacier National Park. This video is just for Banff, and others will be coming. Note: In 2023, you will need shuttle passes/reservations to get to some areas of the park (Lake Moraine), and while there is pa...

Did you bring a gimbal? I'm debating bringing mine but I'll likely leave it at home since last time an extra hair tie seemed like extra weight. 😊
@@MakeBetterStuff hello, I did not have a gimbal and you’re SO right, anything extra feels like a brick, haha! When did you go the last time? Buen Camino!
Congratulations on completing the Camino de Santiago! Your journey is truly inspiring. As someone who has dreamt of undertaking the Camino myself, circumstances have held me back. Yet seeing individuals like you accomplish this pilgrimage fills me with admiration and hope.
Thank you so much! 🥰 It was an incredible adventure. I hope you are able to get out there one day and live your dream.
Not sure how long I’ll keep up on drinking caffeine.. little did she know she indeed WOULD keep up 😂!!!!
Hahahaha it was my rocket fuel!! 😂😂 And will be again!
The lupine!!!!!😍
It definitely did NOT smell like grape soda tho! 💜💙
Love that you have all this gear ready to go! We will backpack!
Yesss! We must make this happen! 😘💕
Man, this bring back some great memories. Thanks for sharing. The Camino is calling again. I need to find time to do it again. :)
Hi, can I know the exact month and date you went? Because I am going there May 15 to 25. I want to see your video to figure out what cloth I should bring. Thanks 😊
Hello! We started the Camino on May 13th. We had a misty first morning, but then beautiful weather thereafter. More rain once we hit the Galicia area. And a heatwave in the Los Arcos area. Have a great trip! Buen Camino.
Thank you so much for the quick reply. ❤
The new P word is PIVOT! That’s life!
Ain’t that the truth!! 💕😂
Serendipity - Feast of the Assumption. Great view of the celebration. Buen Camino
Yes 🙌🏾 Queen
This was great 👍🏾
Thank youuuuu! ❤️
I love when you said we're one mile in and we've both cried already. I'm the same way
I wanted to be as transparent as possible. 🤣❤️
what route down did you take from orisson ?
We were on the Napoleon route from Orisson to Roncesvalles. We followed the signs all along the way and the map given at the passport office. There is a section that is shorter and steeper down from the top, but they told us to make sure we stayed right, don’t go left at the wind marker. People who went left had a very hard time with knees and ankles, but going right was tough too.
Hi! I was wondering if you could speak to how you travelled to St Jean Pied de port?
Hello, we flew into Madrid, and took the train to Pamplona. From Pamplona, we hired the Caminofacil transport company to SJPP. It was the easiest way for us. I hope this helps. We stayed at the Only YOU Hotel Atocha in Madrid because it was right across the street from the train station.
What month did you do your Camino?
We started May 13th in SJPP and ended on June 22nd, 2022 in Santiago.
Es mi pueblo
Loved 🥰 this one!
I’m staying at both places next week! Great 👍🏾 video!
Ohhh wonderful, thank you! Have the best trek and hoping all goes great!!
Every. Single. Video. I am in awe of your mad video skills and talent.
🥰🥰Thank you! They are fun to relive all the moments!!
Awesome which route did you take?
Hello, Orisson is on the Napoleon route. It is beautiful for sure!
No more blisters please!
We stayed at many of the same places as you. Every time I watch, I’m awed at your skill, the special moments you create, with rocks & moss, self-portraits below a sun umbrella & the sky above. Again, your beginning quotes & ending music, which I then often purchase. Thank you for sharing your Camino - and my own!
Thank you So much! I’m really happy you are enjoying these videos. Makes making them all worth it. 🥰
I just got back from doing the last Sarria to Santiago stage and I'm hungry for more. I think about doing that first stage but I have some fears holding me back. What if I get lost? It looks like there are a number of possible routes, how do I know which one to take? But your videos are definitely helping me. I would probably need to break up that first day into two as well. Thank you so much for these videos. I look forward to watching all of your Camino.
Hello! I had the same fears!! And I tried to watch every video I could find on how those first two days would be, and while nothing can truly prepare you for it (not in a bad way, but for how amazingly beautiful it was), I found navigating was the easier part, if that helps at all. I was more worried about my knees, but breaking the day up was definitely the right choice for me. If you do the same, I highly recommend getting reservations for Orisson and Roncesvalles as soon as they are available to make. It was a game changer! I wish you the best and I hope you can get back out there. Sarria to Santiago was so green and lush! 🩵💚
Also, the RUclips “Cruisin’ With The Colemans” is a good one as they are out there right now and posting videos.
Do you think it would have been easier to send your pack ahead?
After Sarria is about the time I finally decided to send some of my stuff ahead. I bought a second smaller pack, threw extra stuff in there and sent that ahead, and kept my big pack with me, because it was much more comfortable and sized to my body.
How heavy was your pack. How did you train for this Camino.
My pack was 25 pounds at the beginning and I could’ve gone lighter for sure. I “packed my fears” as they say. I started training for the Camino a year before I left, that is probably excessive and not necessary. Most people will say 16 weeks prior to leaving. I started my pack weight at 15, and built up from there, eventually carrying 35 lbs, so that when I did eventually leave for the Camino, my pack was actually 10 pounds lighter than what I was used to. I also found some good hill hikes in my area to train on.
My goodness, the quality of your video, narration, music, and photos are superb. Every time I watch and listen, I marvel. My husband and I are watching them all again on this one year anniversary. He was following along with me on a long wall map and his own Brierley guidebook. We recently took a New England road trip, and I took many more videos. I learned from you how much video adds to your memories.
Thank you SO much for saying all of this. Makes my heart happy to know you enjoy the videos and they are helpful to people wanting to make this trek. I learned SO much!! I hope you had a great trek to New England!! No one quite understands the Camino, unless you’ve been there so it’s nice to have folks to talk to about it.
ET to handmaids tale 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hahahahaha Right?! Movie day! 😂
Ya’ll are cracking me up with your zombie and dateline talk.
The fog on the trail is 🤌
I loved those days!!!!
Loving the old ruins!!!
I walked the Camino in 2015 when I was 70 and my advice for any "senior" who wants to do this magnificent experience, is "DON'T START FROM ST. JEAN!" It is easy to overlook that the first day of the standard classic route is the longest and hardest of the whole Camino and takes down a lot of pilgrims pro rata. There is only one Auberge on the stage, which you need to reserve a place to get into, and however nice the day sleeping out in the mountains is not for the elderly. Remember the "Official" start is the Monastery at Roncesvalles, where the St. Jean stage ENDS. It is here you should get your "Credential" and it is from here that distances are measured on the Camino de Frances. Roncesvalles is easier and safer reached via Pamplona - there is, or was in 2015, a bus running out to the Monastery every evening - and Pamplona is a wonderful city to rest from your journey out, check and amend your gear, talk to other first-timers and so on. A lot of seniors actually start from Pamplona - you are still a long walk from Santiago - but whether you start Pamplona or Roncesvalles, if you are over about 65 and have not done much walking or training, consider leaving St. Jean for the young people! The Camino is a singular experience about which you can make your own rules - eg, alone or with company, carry or ship your bag, auberge or hotel or both - and it is plain stupid to set off like a rocket and crack on day one. I believe there have been more deaths on the St. Jean leg than any other single stage. BUT, whatever you decide, "Bon Camino!"
I can’t believe how bright it was at 9:30pm!!!
You could definitely walk much later into the evening if you wanted, but some alburgues close their doors at 9pm 😳😳
The sped up walking part of the video makes me lol 😂
Haha a little variety 🤣🤣❤️❤️
That church is incredible!!!! Though I’m not religious, I find it fascinating to observe religious traditions.
Me either, and there is some sort of draw into some of these spaces. The architecture is simply amazing, and how old everything is. ❤️
I love how you compare it to parenthood. ❤
I’m going to have to watch this one again. Thank you my friend! ❤️
This is so well done that I feel like Im walking there with you. Thank You for sharing the experience. I look FWD to doing this myself in the future God Willing
Thank you so much for tuning in, and I really hope you can go one day and have the Camino experience. Its pretty magical!!
Hi Maria!! My husband Eddie is watching with me as I rewatch your videos each day for my one year anniversary. Since he followed my journey back home, he’s enjoying seeing the real thing now. You continue giving Camino gifts through your video and photos. Thank you!
I love this even more, that your husband can watch along with you! And I think Maria is back out there as we speak. She went for round two! ❤️❤️ Enjoy!!
On this first anniversary of our start, I’m going to rewatch your record of each day of our Camino. We covered the same ground on the same day, meeting many of the same people. Wonderful videos, super photos, great commentary and music! You must be a professional at this!
I love love love so much that you have enjoyed these videos, a labor of love in themselves and so thankful to have them to look back on. Have a beautiful day Mindy!! 😘❤️
Your video footage is some the best I have seen for really capturing what it is like walking the Camino. You have a knack for capturing just the right shots to tell the story of the trail itself. You also have a very pleasant, soothing voice which is easy to listen to. Keep it up! I hope you give us just a little more insight into your internal journey. A little “why” goes a long well to enhancing your journey!❤
Thank you so much for saying that. It was my goal to cover the parts of the Camino that I worried about the most before I started my own Camino. I hope it helps people. Thank you for watching.
I’m glad you stopped and listened to the music. ❤
It was so beautiful! So many great memories!!
Awesome video! I am planning for the French Camino in September 2023 This will be my third Camino 2019: From Sarria to Santiago 2022: Portuguese from Porto ( Coast) I am a little nervous about my first 2 days, I am 63 and living in Florida ( everything flat) I really enjoy your video!!
I know the feeling, those first two days scared me too, however it was the third day that was by far the most challenging with the way the trail surface was and the downhill. No one ever talks about the trek into Zubiri, but I will. It was not fun. Could’ve been that we were already tired from Day 1 and Day 2, but nonetheless a lot of our Camino friends struggled on Day 3. Days 1 and 2 we really took our time, enjoyed the scenery and just went at our own pace. I know your Camino Frances will be wonderful, enjoy all the moments!! ❤️Buen Camino!
This is a lovely video! How did you set up your horseback ride? Did you guys get into town and realize you could take horses or plan it beforehand? I would love to know cause I'm heading onto the camino shortly!😊
Thank you for watching! We booked ahead with Victor, it was very informal and worked out perfectly. This is the link to his website: al-paso-horse-rental-service.negocio.site/ We did it all through email if I remember correctly. Have a great time on your Camino trek.
Seven miles seems perfect for the first uphill day. Nice work!
🎉 you made it, HikerBabe ❤
Love that you add history and plantknowledge etc to your vids ❤❤
❤❤
❤❤
What month was this?
We left on May 13, 2022. 😁
Thank you for putting this together ❤ Loved the commentary, uou should be a professsional narrarator!
Beautiful... pictures and geat beautiful song selection
