Memories for sure. I remember when the Slug-Go came out. I was not a fan of the big chunk of plastic until I actually tossed a Tennessee Shiner. I am 67 years old and been a fan ever since that first cast. Keep up the good work, I have and still use your great products, RIP Doug Hannon miss him much
Doug caught over 800 10 lb. bass in his life. If you were able to fish every week, you'd have to catch a 10 lb. bass every week for 15 years. Wrap your head around that.
I've been using the sluggo for at least 25 years now and I still use it. Arkansas Shiner and Rainbow Trout colors are killer here in Southern Cal. as well as Central Florida. They are my go to baits. Not to mention Fin-S-Fish in all sizes.
I've used slug-gos since I was 15 (28 years ago). I've used this lure more than 3 times all other lures (both hard and soft) combined. The action on these is incredible. Decades later and thousands of bass, I just had a new experience happen last week. As soon as I cast out and the slug-go hit the water and started sinking, a bass struck. That bass had to be right under where that slug-go landed. Never had anything like that happen before.
Man, I remember when they first came out. I was a buyer for Dick's Clothing & Sporting Goods (not lures, though) around 1992. Started telling the buyer at the time about Slug-os, and took him down to the local river to show him the action. He put them in and gave me the category for my buying responsibilities. Great lures! Still work like a charm.
Herb, that's pure gold, Man. I used to work up the street from your shop in Meriden. I have a Texposer hook on my fishin' workbench right now. Go Army.
Biggest bass I ever hooked was on a sluggo… in a farm pond , it was easily 12 pounds … she finally rolled over on the pads, got her tail under her , made a wallowing jump and straightened out the weak 5/0 hook I was using …
I really wish I could go back 30 years and smack myself in the face. I used to see these on the shelf and go “sluggo...wtf? NEXT” like a total dummy Fast forward to now, the soft jerk accounts for more fish than any other bait for me. 1991 me: you missed out on hundreds, possibly thousands of bass...good goin 👍

I have been using the Lunker City slug go for over 30 years with out a doubt the BEST jerk bait ever.

I still use the slug-go. Its one of the few baits where I've seen fish come up and hit right by the boat. On numerous occasions.
The 80's were awesome
Early 90s wasn’t too bad either
