      I like the air flow and it solid construction. It would be perfect if the plastic window were tempered glass, however what it has is very thick and resist scratches.

      Yeah, I have the same case. My only gripe with it was maybe I should have gotten the mATX version (along with a mATX mobo) back when I built my computer. Then again, modern cases are gigantic by comparison, so my cube case isn't actually horrible to haul around

    very useful. I just intalled in my PRime X670-P and first it was detecting the keyboard and mouse I have connected to a CalDigit3 to the Ext4 card. and now no POST! stupid me, I did not know I had to change the BIOS!!! I have now go back remove the card, change the Bios and try again.

    I noticed you installed sodtware/drivers from CD/DVD. Did you check to see if there were updated deivers from their website?
    Im curious about whether updated drivers would enable more performance.
    Also, last i looked at TB adapters for PC, they were pretty specific to the motherboard. Is there a BIOS/UEFI setting that needs to be enabled or changed?

      Great questions Jeremy.
      The driver CD I used exactly matches what is on the ASUS Website file-to-file, including date to date.
      There is however a new firmware for the unit available on that site as well, but the Read-me file is somewhat confusing and concerns me. Here it is word for word (including spelling):
      “TBTFwUpdateToolEfi V1.3 is Update PD and Thunderbolt Firmware Tool for THUNDERBOLTEX 4 Add in card
      ※Please note that this motherboard must be supported [ThunderboltEX 4] add in card and should be confirmed thunderbolt function had work properly
      Update step
      1.Please extract the TBTFwUpdateToolEfi V1.3 file and copy it to a USB Drive.
      2.insert USB Drive on motherboard
      3.press the [Power key] then press and hold the [F2] into BIOS setup meun
      4.Click[Advanced mode]
      5.Select [Exit] and [Launch EFI Shell from USB drive] into shell mode for update process”
      I will do some more research and try to understand this update tool more before I try it, and I may make a video about it as long as it doesn’t ‘brick’ my card.
      Also, I believe I showed the Motherboard BIOS settings needed to support the device, and I did not think anything there could affect the performance.🥴

    one question. the manual says that the 6=pin is only if you want the card to power devices connected to it. is that your understanding too? I just want to connect some OWC Raid boxes.

    • @PE4Doers
      @PE4Doers  26 дней назад

      Sort of - that extra current capability will provide up to four times the amount of power to the devices plugged in to the USB-C connectors. Even without it, power will be provided, but it's light a 'fast' charger rather than an 'average' charger, and can support full power to larger devices (like a small to medium sized laptop).

    Perhaps you should have used a Casio thunderbolt case; sometimes an OWC dock will increase your speed.

    thanks again. I got it working, yet, I am having an issue that the TB4 is not detected at boot, so for instance, I have my keyboard and mouse connected to a hub and then to the TB4 in the card, but I cannot for instance, get into BIOS using the keyboard and even after the windows screen, it takes a several seconds for the keyboard to be recognized. any chance you know if there is a setting to make the card more readily available at boot?

    • @DanielRodriguez-fg5ll
      @DanielRodriguez-fg5ll 25 дней назад

      on a related matter, have you tried for instance, to boot from a device connected to the EXT4 card?

    • @PE4Doers

      Do you have the TB4 in a 4X slot on your motherboard. I have heard of some people placing it in a 1X slot and experiencing some some strange results.

    • @PE4Doers
      @PE4Doers  24 дня назад

      I have not attempted that, so I really can't give a technical opinion in that area.
