I have to disagree. I think what Taika does which is even more impressive, is transition from sad or poignant moments back to humour, without undermining the emotion at all
It seems like Ali's made his brand on paying attention to actors and genuinely trying to understand their sense of humor, to put them at ease. It's a delightfully honorable and kind technique.
Said this once and I'll say it again, Taika Waititi's contribution to Thor's character in Thor Ragnarok was a turning point on both Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi's himself's career
@@buffnipz not really. He made a huge improvement to the character. Which was then really done well in infinity war and the endgame kinda of just ruined that
This interviewer was really good. He did his research and seemed to lift Taika's spirits. I get a sneaking suspicion that lots of press interviews in a day can be grueling for actors and movie makers.
It's interesting to me cause most of the time Taika seems like a big child (on a good way) and Ali seems to get more joy out of the people he interviews. But for some reason it's like Ali's calm insightful questions made Taika happy to show his more serious side
"And you're giving him notes dressed as Hitler and you go-" "Can't you follow a simple order?" This is why I watch every single interview that Taika does.
The interviewer was such a delight. Usually they are do not let the quest speak (being more interested in doing the talking) or ask boring questions (haven't they done any research?). This was a rare treat indeed.
I can honestly say this is the only celebrity interview show I will watch with any regularity. Ali is great at his job and brings out the best in those he is interviewing.
Mandalorian's season finale is a prime Taika. Well crafted, humour, mind blowing actions and most an importantly that satisfying ending with top notch cliff hanger.
@@frederique3006 yeah, I know. But if have seen Taika's previous works, you would've noticed Taika's touches and uniqueness. And most importantly, he worked with and in collaboration with John Favreau & Dave Filoni. They are known to be open minded as creator and giving space to their directors.

It was a great movie! We laughed and were touched. Acting was A+ too. It was kind and smart. And it is so relevant today... We kinda have nazi problem in my country. :/ Sending love from Slovakia.
Every day I find more interesting Ali's interview, and I enjoy also watching them because, improve my English level, so I must keep going. About Jojo Rabbit, if I could highlight something from the movie, it would be Scarlett Johansson. She was the reason why I wanted to watch the movie, so good job Taika, he has good eye to cast to the actors.
Watched Jojo earlier today, and loved it. It has genuinely funny comedic elements, and some fully serious moments that are suspenseful or which touch on the horror of Nazi Germany. And Taika has delivered a film that balances on the tightrope between those elements. The acting delivered by each of the main cast is also excellent. Bravo Taika.
Been meaning to comment for an age, I think you are the best film interviewer at present( I still bow to the greatness of Bazza Norman). But between your enthusiasm and pure cinematic knowledge, you are joy to watch in action. Nice one.
from the german side of things- even with scarlet and like, rebel wilson in there, this movie just worked fabulously and was still weirdly accurate...also "give him a bazooka and go" is a mood

I'd give Archie a bazooka anytime. Sam Rockwell's performance in this film is spectacular. This whole film is brilliantly heartbreaking and simultaneously uplifting.
In my opinion there is NO ONE who does the "hilarious movie and then suddenly you're crying cause it got emotional" better than this guy!
Yup, he's the expert at it

I think it's because he makes it a conversation too instead of just an interview. Makes it more fun for the both of them and less awkward.
I used to work at radio London as security a lot of celebs would drink and smoke alot and not many of them liked doing press runs at all.
It's so interesting how Ali mirrors the "sleepy calm voiced" manner of talking Taika has, so the interview sounds pleasantly balanced.
Either that or he is smoking some top grade dried crap...
Taika looks tired and even then, the interviewer manages to get his interest and cheer him up as the interview goes on.
This is the least flamboyant I've ever seen Taika dressed for an interview.
Simon Vin weird how this is like the most energetic interviewer
I think it’s because taika knows he doesn’t have to carry the interview this time
Grespino 1 lol makes sense I guess

Taika directed Thor Ragnarok and the season finale of the Mandalorian. He also played Korg and IG 11. Taika is my spirit guide.
