  • Wow! Join us for today's real world, real life new Missouri Ozark's mountain property land adventure. In today's episode we will tie the last few episodes together for a complete picture of last weekends Ozarks land improvement projects with my Bobcat E42 R2 series mini excavator. Somehow I don't think this is what Bobcat equipment co had in mind when they built the Bobcat mini excavator! Buy hey just like in the Marine Corps, you 'Improvside, Adapt and Overcome!' And that's just what I did today to complete the mission of cutting a new road through the deep woods of our Missouri Ozarks property. I had to backtrack a couple of times due to steep and rugged terrain and steep ditches, but in the end it was a success. We may be selling an 80 acre parcel from this property so with that in mind I have a dual mandate with this new road system. A) To provide land access to the possible new landowners for the 80 acre parcel and B) to make the access road NOT too close to our property border! And with steep, rocky terrain that severely limits your potential road paths! I really love our property, but for sheer beauty you just can't beat the Ozarks. No one in our family could do what you are doing, so we had to have a guy bring in a dozer for our roads.

      Hey I envy that at times, hire a dozer and get it all done asap!! Nothing wrong with that! But I do enjoy time in the woods so it is not that big of a problem, except that I want it done yesterday! lol Thanks

    Good days work Mr K 💪💪👍 not a criticism but an observation you are hard on the slew motor on that machine 😮 and admittedly was a few years ago but actually had a bobcat mini snap the boom of the machine at the swivel point on front of the machine 😕

    • @KapperOutdoors2.0

    Sorry Joe, but if I’m looking at property I’m not looking for steep road that snow or rain are going to make it hard to travel on 🤷🏻‍♀️. Just my 2 cents

    • @KapperOutdoors2.0
      @KapperOutdoors2.0  Месяц назад

      Yep, no doubt Ozarks land is not for everyone! But it is beautiful and it does have some advantages. Your actual land 'area' is bigger for 'equal' acreage due to the hills, and the steep terrain greatly reduces trespassing on foot as long as you've got your roads closed off. But soil ain't as good though. Give and take. Thanks

  • @mt-kp2tb

    Keep the whole thing, i parted a piece like your doing and it was the worst mistake ever.

    • @KapperOutdoors2.0
      @KapperOutdoors2.0  23 дня назад

      Yep I really don't want to make that mistake! But I may not have a choice, but if we do sell we will try to be very selective as we have a great one of a kind place on the end of the dead end road!

  • @enti5863
    @enti5863 Месяц назад +4

    I don't understand it at all anymore. You move to another place to have a larger piece of land,
    further away from neighbors and then sell pieces of land where you will have again neighbors who live close by again.??!!

    • @SuperLooneyrooney
      @SuperLooneyrooney Месяц назад +6

      i beleive from previous episode he had an opportunity to pick up some extra acreage at a great price, do some clearing/upgrading them, and sell those at a profit to help pay off the 290+ he was originally looking at

      Yep thanks for thevupdate@SuperLooneyrooney

    • @kapperoutdoors
      @kapperoutdoors Месяц назад +2

      Yes, you've got to look at things in 3 dimensions. In illinois, we had a hundred fifty acres, and even if we sold off two hundred acres, we would still have the end of a dead end road with more than double the land that we had in illinois, so it's all relative.

    • @KapperOutdoors2.0
      @KapperOutdoors2.0  Месяц назад

      Oh and as far as the neighbors 'close by,' that is also relative. Even if we sell off a few chunks we will be at least as private, but likely still more private than our last farm. So it's the lesser of e v ils if you know what I mean. We do what we have to do to make it happen and we have plan A, B C and D in line. Hope this makes sense!?
