This attention to detail and working toward perfection is why I love your approach. I have a 30-06 that I bought during the pandemic from this couple and it is a thrill to shoot every single time! And heck yes we need that REAMER VIDEO. Talk about minimum, spec chambers too please.
My father was a master machinist , God bless him !! He would be amazed at the tolerances you work with on a daily basis !! A reamer video would be awesome ! Looking forward to seeing how that 7prc shoots ! Cheers man and much respect
@@quarterminutemagnums the tolerances you are able to hold with the new generation machinery is way beyond what was possible with 1970s equipment !! That speaks to why the chamber dimensions ( throat ) , were generous by today's ( prc ) standards. With such close tolerances every cartridge is " inherently accurate " when built by a craftsman like yourself ! Cheers man , I wish I had your skills.
Beautiful work. Thanks for taking the time to make and post this video. I appreciate your efforts to explain things and dispel some of the crap on the internet. I’m anxious to see how the PRC shoots. I’d love to see a reamer video. I’m hoping to shoot the 6x47 this weekend. I’m sure it will be amazing.
Yes, I would love a reamer video. Boots Obermeyer told me “People don’t understand reaming.” Of course, since he made barrels, maybe he was referring to reaming a barrel after the hole was drilled. To bad we can’t ask him now. He was a good guy.
Love to see a reamer video, maybe don’t use an explanation of everyone. They all function the same but with different specks correct! My suggestion to help free up Vicky with time on the range is to get an electronic shot marker and watch your shots at the bench on say I pad or tablet of your choice. You can save the targets, measure the groups and then print them out at home .Adam McDonalds products are top notch.
Would definitely like to see a reamer video. Also it would be great to see what the rifle shoots for velocity and see how it shoots. Good luck and really appreciate the knowledge base and great videos.

@@Accuracy1st I'm sure it is, most 7mm's I'm aware of are. I haven't shot one, and if I didn't have a fast twist 7 mag with a longer mag box, I'd probably be interested in it. But it makes me laugh when Mr. Scott called them public relations cartridges. I'm not a fan of Hornady and their overhyped, but effective marketing.
@@robertmajors1737 I have a wonderful built 7RemMag with a 9 twist, 26" Krieger. But I also like new stuff. I did not buy a 6.5CM when they came out. I did not buy the 300 or 6.5PRC when they came out. I knew it was a matter of time when the 7PRC would be introduced. I now have 4. Had 5, sold one. I like a variety, even if I'm essentially duplicating something. But my 7RemMag just does extremely well with 168 Berger VLDs over 73.0 Retumbo at 3010fps and I tested that bullet and the 180 BVLD quite extensively. I settle for accuracy first, speed/energy second. With one of my 7PRCs that I just completed, I'm using a 175 ELDX over 70.0 H1000, 3005fps 24" barrel and I'm essentially in the 0.1s to 0.2s for both rifles. My next 7PRC will have a 26" barrel, maybe even 28".
You get excited about your chambers being +.003 over SAAMI? It's not very complicated to get headspace down to +.001" or less. Do all your final sanding/polishing and then take a very minor skim pass on the barrel shoulder while allowing for "crush" during final assembly (whatever you need based on your surface finish on the receiver face/barrel shoulder).
@@quarterminutemagnums You do what works for you and your setup. I am just bringing some unbiased information to the reader. As you can agree there is A LOT of smoke/mirrors and self-proclaimed wizardry in the custom rifle industry that needs to be brought to light. Anyone who knows anything about machining and rifle building can spot quality work and quality assurance, it doesn't need to be sold with magic and ooohs and aaahs.
First thing, that’s not SAAMI chamber. He hasn’t torqued the actions on to the barrel which will reduce headspace. What he’s showing is that the two barrels are really, really close to the same headspace.
