Hey guys I hope you see this and you take this into a effect I would really like to see how buddy Antunez's & and Greg Albertine's 125's 93/95 Suzuki RM'S matched up and compare 93/95 Suzuki RM 250'S.. I love these bikes because how simple they are to work on and hold them all so dear to my heart. I still have three....
tom thorne lol, they have blue veins can't ya tell, anyways YZ is a great bike as are Kato's and Huskys, we just need more 2strokes to keep everyone happier in the world! 4t cause cancer, floods, hurricanes and famine, just all round nasty beasts, lol, 2t ftw...
The Sick Horse Ranch premise to say that I feel for all the people going through the floods and the fires, by no means no respect or empathy them personally, good luck to everyone and all best for recovery, on a serious note!
very true. but buying any usa made pipe is the same problem too cause they are all spec'd to a stock cylinder. dep, the old spes, doma, all those pipes were designed with people setting the cyl up already like transfer matching and blowdown time correction. good point sir.
Cause for this to be posted 6 years ago I still don’t have problems with my 2004 yz144 it’s the best bike by far and I ridden every brand and f bike and everyone that comes off a ktm says the rear brake is like not there and that the geometry is not right.
Rusty Shackleford yeah it's an issue, but also you need to get people entering races, you want to have well organised events, but simple and easy to participate in, would it make a difference if you are an mid level rider vs a pro, no! Pro vs pro, debatable, pros ride on the pipe full gas to flat and 125 won't lose out anything on top, where it is helpful is if you are a bigger rider vs a lighter rider maybe and really tight tracks. Me probably prefer to have a std 125, full aftermarket pipe, (FMF, Bills etc) VForce reeds, maybe a higher compression head! Again debatable but for some tracks in altitudes would help, some heads you can swap inserts for high elevation and lower elevation eg Slavens heads! build it reliable is more important, Samco hoses, def suspension tune as done here, but that's about it, fav bars grips done go racing, have fun if someone's on a 134/144/150 ok rider harder! But just ride and have fun! 🤙
Modern 4 stroke technology has defeated the 2 stroke. If it were up to me I'd encourage big bore 2 strokes to race the 250 4 strokes and 450 4 strokes. It'd only make it fair because 2 strokes sleep off the gate.
Hold on I just started watching this video bigger displacement is a plus if you can lighten the rolling assembly crank rod piston wrist pin. The lighter you can get it the quicker it revs up less mass and inertia....!!!!!! And that goes along with why flywheel/ magneto.. that's why Woods guys add fly wheel weights..,,, harder to stall at low RPMs and you get more umph @ low RPMs.
Late comment, but just boring it out to 144cc is the lazy way. If you wanted to do it proper without killing the top end you would have to stroke the crank in combination with a bored cylinder and cut head.
I guess the cylinders dont have the time/area in the porting to be able to support the CC. Same with the 250/250x. The 265/270 69mm bore has better top end than the 295cc/72mm bore.
Built a 144, but not through straight bore. I Stroked the crank on top of it, while getting the cylinder bored, and cut the head in combni to get the 144c. Excellent motor and didn't kill the top end. Probably the best combo if you have the money. Problem is that boring the stock cylinder and dropping in an overbore eventually cracked one of the bridges on the cylinder. Stock cylinder didn't take to well to bore. Sent it out to get re welded. Put it together and was having issues finding the right jetting as no matter what range it would break up. Brought it to the track, leaned it out to fixed the problem and about lap 3 blew it up going through the sand section. Surprisingly i thought it seized, but it was the crank that seized most likely cause of high hours. Keeping it simple and just going to get the head cut and bolt on the stock cylinder and piston.
Alex Kid ktm is unreliable and stuck with air suspension. Thats not good yamaha has made the same engine for years why cause its bulletproof. Same fork why cause they are not air forks and are very good stock. Ktm loses the air forks and gets some better reliablity we can talk
Garrett Gustafson I've had my stock ktm 125 2017 for a year and nothing happened except the usual piston and rings and I have a 2017 ktm 250 factory edition and it's just awesome nothing to complain about when I first started out we bought a 2007 ktm 85 and 2008 ktm 85 and they where sooo so unreliable the older ktms are unreliable i think
@0:38 "the 2017 KTM has over 3 horsepower"
Well it better have over 3 horsepower lol
EreksonJ lmaoo
EreksonJ 😂😂😂😂
You guys should test them with lectron carbs
Shouldn't make a difference, other than the electron carb is easier to "adjust".
I love my rm 250 but every once in a while it is nice to rip a 125.
I had a YZ144 and as a Vet rider, I LOVE IT. I love chasing down my buddies on 450's, but you will be chasing them down off the start, lol
2 stroke or big 4 stroke
Sort of weird that you told us literally nothing about the big bore kits what was the purpose of this video
They just like to bolt shit together and shoot videos, not write good journalism. They even "review" off road bikes on MX tracks.

Damn their ripping those 2 strokes awesome..
What’s the jetting on these bikes and do the run regular grass?????????????
That made me smile for New Year's Eve
What was the point in saying both bikes were faster than KTM 125 when KTM make a factory 144/150 you should be comparing them with
tom thorne lol, they have blue veins can't ya tell, anyways YZ is a great bike as are Kato's and Huskys, we just need more 2strokes to keep everyone happier in the world! 4t cause cancer, floods, hurricanes and famine, just all round nasty beasts, lol, 2t ftw...
Maverick 4t is definitely responsible for the West Coast being on fire right now too! lol
The Sick Horse Ranch lmao🤙

No typos in the comments!!!!We are highly tuned in motor departments by now, lets meet our reputation as a skilled professional should
What’s the suspension issue??????
Were they faster the a KTM 150SX or a Husky TC150
Good oil though if buying second hand this gen YZ all the way🤙
Where can I get a 134cc kit
We all know yamaha is 2stroke king nothing beats it
without a propose built exhaust you are kinda split balling with these big bore kits, no 125cc exhaust will ever be perfect for a 144/150

Ok, so I just bored my yz125 to .25mm over, so what size does it make it now in cc?
Joz Sports over 9000!
That’s not how this works lol
Are those frames painted? look super fresh for 06
The frames are sanded and buffed. If you watch Jay Clarke's video on the youtube channel "dirt bike tv" he has these two bikes and mentions it there
Only problem with this is by making these bigger than 125s, you go into a higher class which kinda defeats the purpose🤷♀️
darius bekker seems like they allow up to 150cc in the 125cc Dream race series!
It's only cheating if you get caught................

They allow up too 134cc in the school boy class in my area which is 125cc for ages 13-24

What if the 144 was ported to rev higher and not flatten off at top rpm would this fix the 144's problem?

What track is this?
SJ Rodriguez milestone socal
Socal *
Just get a Mugen Cr125 and put it in an aliminum frame best 125 ever
Garrett Gustafson no yz134
I takes alot of work but anything can be tuned to be a ripper. it's all time an money. ktm quality has had some issues latley.
Can I have the 134 pls😭😭😭
I have a yz125
@@brendenketelsen4417 make yours a 134

The only thing is the test riders….
Fucking hell
word
Ktm has junk forks and the worst durability in its class.
lol Yamaha sucks compared to ktm

That’s why every bike you see cracked in half is a ktm tho...
