Very similar build as my first boot i got, the twisted x. same insole, inner mesh lining and outsole! only mine is 100%cowhide upper. Very comfy, gonna definetly be my winter boot here in slovenia :)
I LOVE Em'... They would be great for my long distance drives where I need protection and comfort but feel of an athletic shoe. For me they are a HIT!!!
I did almost forgot to mention that yes they are good boots but when they switched production to China there quality went down . The sole stated coming apart from the glue they used . Had to take them to a a shoe repair and get them fixed . The quality was better when they made them in Mexico .Also they don't offer to much of a round toe selection in steel toe .I own 7 pairs . The ones from Mexico are actually good quality.
No doubt! I like the ones they make in Mexico better too. They seem to have also switched to using more sustainable and eco friendly methods in making their boots which is really expensive in the Americas so I can understand why they'd outsource in order to keep their prices reasonable to their target market
Another give away, winner winner chicken dinner! And more importantly another live stream. The combination of the grey and red is a good look. I will need to be completely convinced about the recycled leather but I am all for sustainability. Shame about the lack of repairability.
Although it does look like a nice boot, I think a slightly more traditional build would be better and could still be plenty comfortable for most people.
I have owned these boot for about 9 months. And have worn them almost every day for hard work in a Lumber Mill. Jeremiah's assessment is pretty spot on. Pros: Extremely light, good all day comfort (once broken in). Cons: This is a rough boot to break in. Soaks in water like a sponge. Composite material is cracking. Not as durable as traditional leather. Personally I will go back to a more traditional leather work boot on the next pair. But, for work around the house. Not a bad option.
Have to say I like the fact your what I call a creative type BUT you havent forgotten what a little good old fashioned work is about ( particularly when I see you working in a cow shed which wasnt in this episode ,still you rolled your sleeves up ( figuratively ) and did some real work for your brother , its just nice to see . The boots are not my style but the I can see how others might like them ( I check your videos for toe styles , colour combos , stitching patterns etc as Ideas for future boots ill get made and the grey and red is certainly interesting.
Thanks Soul Firez. I appreciate that. I've done a lot of different jobs over my short life so far and I've noticed manual labor helps my creative mind produce more!
Had some twisted X boots after 3 months they started squeaking. I love them till then, boot Barn did not want to replace them but, twisted x took care of it for me I didn't get another pair because I was unsure if it would happen again so I got a different brand. But yes they where so nice, especially for work. Maybe try them again one day.
You know, Twisted X had never really been on my radar before this video, but these seem like they'd make for a pretty great pair of beater boots for yardwork and other light work. Very interesting.
"Hello Jeremiah, your gray square-toed boots, the square toe you can't see anymore because the boots are really nice and solid! The boots in the video remind me of my Nocona gray cowboy boots that I love, light and flexible . Yours boots in the video depending on the light look, the leather is really nice!In the inside heel, I had trouble with a pair of cowboy boots one day but I fixed it! the problem, I think it comes from the manufacturing ... Great video Jeremiah! "
Jeremiah, I was very happy to have found you here on the u tube. I enjoy your testing's & road trips, making me feel as I was right there. The only thing I find interesting about you telling us about the boots you are describing is, that you never tuck your pant legs into the boots. Why is this?? But thanks for the great work that you do, on the different brands. GBB.
Thanks Ken! Glad you're enjoying the content. I just don't usually shotgun my pants when wearing boots so I never think about it and most folks I see don't either but I got nothing against the folks that do
@@JeremiahCraig I have the Sof Sole Men's AIRR Orthotic Support Full-Length Gel inserts. I purchased several pair over the years. The manufacturer made some changes to their line recently. That being said, they are much better for me than Super Feet insoles, which are just too stiff.
I wear twisted x work boots everyday for work, although I've blown through 4 pairs I think its just cause I'm rough on shoes period, they are the most comfortable boot I've ever worn and working in the gas industry you see alot of people also wear them so they must be doing something right
I have the boots now....I have the same issue with the lip on the counter. I feel it on my left boot more so than the right...as soon as it happened I heard your voice hahahah
Looks good! 7 toe for me would be killer cool. I think the boot looks to have some great properties! You're really stacking those Jean's JC & they are a good looking sneakerboot. 👍
I have a question. Boot barn, twisted x and along with other retail stores list it as a soft toe. I got mine in the mail a week ago and have been trying to get used to them. They don't fit terrible but i noticed the end of the toe area is compressed a bit on the tip of my toes. Do you know if it really is a soft toe/leather or is it some sort of composite material? It feels solid to me. I'm just curious as to if it will break in more right there or not.
Toe boxes won't break in. Even if they are a leather toe box or celastic, it's there made to help keep the toe shape. Your boots may be a safety toe of some sort depending on which style you bought but all boots will have extra material above the toe so the boot keeps its shape. If it's not safety approved, it's list as soft toe. Here's a video I did about where boots break in - ruclips.net/video/JWFRBkpiPvA/видео.html
omg I want these!! The colour of these are what I voted on when you first showed them! The comfort level is what I'm looking for as well. While I'm on vacation this summer I will be trying these on!!!! love love love! So waiting for this video to drop!! Thanks Jeremiah!
Great video. New balance is my favorite sneaker brand and I wear them if I need to go to the gym or driving to a bike race to change out into my cycling gear or at an amusement Park but seeing those if I ever need to go to an amusement Park they would probably be the best.
Interesting pair of boots. I agree it would be great if they offered a couple other toe shapes. It will be interesting to see how they hold up in time. Looks like they are trying to see if they can make boots feel like sneakers as Ariat has. The recycled products they are using are interesting so time will tell how they will perform. Looking forward to the livestream giveaway.
My Twisted X boots were very comfortable BUT they fell apart in 2 weeks.. I would like to get another pair but I'm afraid they will just fall apart. Has anyone else experienced this or have a take on which boots will fall apart and which ones won't
Hopefully people have better luck than me. My soles came separated in under a year and warranty department called it "normal wear and tear". No more Twisted X for me!
I wish a boot company would make a boot with a zipper going down the side all the way down. Because I'm a amputee and I used to love wearing cowboy boots before I lost my leg..
Kudos for the eco-friendly. If they would just get rid of that double welt and wide square toe, I’d buy them in a heartbeat. I’m tired of my feet looking like a platypus with all that duck-bill width, and the double welt stitching just collects more mud and dirt
7:53 i always use cowboy boots for yard i never trusted tennis shoes either there thin material on top and grass stains em green and causes bad blisters
You noticed I was wearing them here! They are breaking in nicely. I did have some stitching come loose at the cuff which was a little disappointing but we'll see what happens. I'll make an update video late fall or early winter

Most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned
I like the looks of the gray and red, not sure how the cloth lining will hold up? But they should be a good work boot. Thanks for the review Jeremiah.
You're right. Cloth lining is not nearly as durable as leather. You got me wondering what a leather TWX lining would be like
Different but nice concept -- these boots vs traditional made boots. I'm still liking that Bill's cap!

do they have retail locations?
Their boots are carried in lots of places. Sheplers, Boot Barn and lots more!
Why would you move from New England to New York? But this boot is more for me. Traditional boots can be rough on my feet.
