I've got a collection myself, consisting of old-school and modern, working and dead. I think the reason good quality amps sell cheap on the used market is the lower power output compared to modern stuff. For whatever reason, alot of younger folks seem to think you need 2,000 watts on your mids/highs. I've got a bunch of non-working amps free and am around 60-70% successful on repairing 'em. Nice collection, I've always liked Alpine and have owned many, many Alpine head units. Actually still have a working AI-net CD player from 2008.
You aren't the only one bud!!! I also have a problem with collecting old school car audio that I grew ip with in the 80's & 90's. I have also collected a lot of alpine amps, speakers, subs, decks. Cheers 🍻
Recently I got an alpine 3537 and I use it to power my tweeters. Very good sound. In the owner's manual it shows SNR 110db, but in the service manual it shows 100db. Do you know which one is correct?
I believe that BBX T600 is the only 2 channel amp Alpine makes anymore. They didn't even market it here in the U.S. but some have made it across the pond. Would be great if you could test it out. Might it be able to run 200w rms? For a single 10 inch 4 ohm sub.
im thinking about picking up an Alpine PDX-F6 do you know anything about them? They meet the power requirement that im looking for but for $250 it seems pretty cheap so i wasnt sure if alpine hit a low point for that series or something lol
Have you measured the SNR at 1W for these? Would be very interested as most manufacturers report SNR at rated power, but in my case, I'll be using only a couple of watts, but still need an SNR of over 100dB at 1W.
You can recognise the amps by looking at the name, T is for 2 ch, F os tor 4ch. The model number 40x will be 40W and 50x -50W. So something like MRV-F407 will be perfect. If you can find 3554 in good condition, those are stellar.
Very good collection bro 💪. You def need to try and test the juba amp (here, in Russia couple of them sell for like 800-1000 quid). Class A, outstanding distortion rates, which can't be compared with any modern car amp at all. But I am completely broke and building ultra-budget sq setup (mrv-f405 for high and mids, bridged mrx-f65 on woofers and mrx-m55 for sub). What do you think about this setup? Again, thanks for your vid
@@RAW-CAt So if it's kinda overkill for midbass, is the f65 comparable to yours mrv-f305 in terms of sq on midrange? I'm simply not sure how alive my ~25yr old amp is
I have 4 1505's (and not many people know this, but there are 2 revisions of them, but without opening you would never know), but without measuring, just listening very quickly A/B, I think the '7' series sounds better than the '5', as in T757 and 1507 is better than 1005 and 1505. I haven't had the 1505 in my car running anything yet, too many other amps, I had layed out my T757s and 1505s in the lounge room on the floor hooked up to a nice floating ground 120dB SNR DAC and battery to test them and look for faults etc. Listening for literally a few seconds on the 1505 then a few seconds on the T757 made me say wow. I would love to do actual testing in REW, I've got a 120dB SNR capable ADC sound card, maybe need something better though

Oh man, I really would like to eat the MRP series, but I think (and this is only an opinion not based on data) that after the silver v12s the later amps were not as clean. I think F6 will be much cleaner than the F600.
Still have aMRV-T502 and MRV-T302 setup in a box for a standard cab pickup with a pair of JL 8W6. 25 years old and they still sound great.
wow! absolutely cool collection!! ❤Alpine

I'm the same way with all Memphis and US-Amps old school car audio, especially the M-Class.
Nice collection
Aww man that is awesome, I have a MRD 1000 that need a little service. Where can I send it for repair?

It depends on the power level. A higher number will be full power I guess.

Bbx is tested in Distortion Factory:

@RAW-CAt Thank you, I'll be joining the group.
Hola, muy buenas!!! La pregunta es si MRV-757 se puede usar para un midbass, luego MRV-F407 para mirange y tweeter???
That would be a perfect combination👍

I tested F4 in distortion factory, Frank tested F6. Great amps, especially if you can get them cheap.

Would be very interested as most manufacturers report SNR at rated power, but in my case, I'll be using only a couple of watts, but still need an SNR of over 100dB at 1W.
All the measurements are in Distortion Factory. However, we measure amps at 5W, not 1W.
I have a question, pssound was talking about using rear field speaker to create a bigger soundstage without losing imaging, is that true?
"rear fill". Yes, if your DSP can run the channels and they are tuned properly
I will try that out and see (or actually hear) for myself🙃
@@RAW-CAt Thank you
Looking for a class AB 4/3/2 channel alpine amp with about 50-70 watts per channel at 4 ohms, what model would you recommend?

Id love to see you test the old purple Pioneer Premiere amps. My favorite old school amps (besides the prs)
are any of these for sell?
I sold everything already. Kept only the best ones🙃
Wheres the Taramps smart 3k ??
Under the amp rack. Hiding😉
I have the old pdx 1000.1 what is your opinion about it? It can do 1000wrms at 4ohm
The first generation PDX were nothing special sound wise, but for subwoofer application it's perfectly fine👍

I just found a link for the v12s. But I have them over 300 amps.
