God woke up one morning and wanted to be a defender. He then saw Paul McGrath and went back to sleep.
Best player I've ever seen in claret n blue.....
Pretty sure it was Scott who said it? They were some great times Colin ❤️
My favourite player from my era has to be Gordon "Sid" Cowans . Brilliant passer, defender, midfielder - creative player and he worked hard . 💯🔥👏👏👏💜💙
My first experience of villa was 1981 yeah i know but i didn't understand football at all i was 5,the first season i actually understood football a lot better was 89/90 and omg,god platt and Cowan's my first real villa hero's,utv

I'd put Yorke in that world class bracket too. So of arguably 5 world class players at the club since around the early 1990's, apart from Martinez, four of them, Platt, Cowans (return) Yorke and God all signed by Sir Graham Taylor.
I’d put Garry Parker in the world class bracket - signed by Big Rob in November 91 🤭😗🫢
Labelling Lorimar a thug would be like referring to Paul as 'that Villa alco' . Poor smear to switch neutrals off.
