as a youngster .. after the gaffer , Jim would follow on by to the dugout and EVERY time he would shake my little boy hand .. such a huge part of my villa memories - not gonna lie , shed a few happy tears watching this .. thank you to you both #utmv
Brilliant interview. One of the best I’ve heard with people from the hall of fame. Huge thanks to you both and gentlemen Jim is a spot on description. 😊
What a hero. His relationship with Paul is amazing and without saying a lot about him it shows just how strong that bond of care and friendship endured. An excellent insight into the man and his character.
What an absolute gent, very much of the "old school". Once again Pete a masterly interview where you actually allow your guest to speak. A fascinating 50 minutes. Clive & Michele
Thanks Pete This was a brilliant interview with one of Villas all time greats who didnt really ever get the praise he deserved..He sounded a very modest chap and it was a joy to watch. Keep up the good work!
Another excellent interview Pate, following on from Brian Little. Jim Walker is one of those special “Mr Aston Villa” legends along with all those top players and managers who have walked through the tunnel to play on the grass or who have directed from the dugout. Even now I expect to see Jim run onto the pitch to attend to whoever goes down injured on the pitch. So good to hear his story. A joy indeed 👌
Edinburgh. What a breath of fresh air. I'm so pleased I got to hear and see such a good and interesting interview. I'm fed up to the back teeth about all the transfer hype. All the usual suspects blurting out a whole load of rubbish about who's going and who's staying. Why can't they all take a leaf out of your book and say nothing until they have some actual facts, either that or better still, copy your example and produce a superb interview as above. I really like T H T. Keep up the great work. Come on, you lions. Up the mighty VILLA.
My grandad knew Jim well, he had a lot of love for him and you can see why . Because my grandad wrote large portions of the villa programs and the fanzine (the claret & blue) if Jim asked, my grandad would always send them to him . Really enjoyed listening to this one 👍🏼 UTV
What a wonderful interview this is. Jim Walker was such a huge part of Villa over the years and did a remarkable job. I've never felt he got the accolades he should have for what he did, especially when it came to getting God out on the pitch every week! Jim is a delightful man, Thank you for giving us the opportunity to listen to his stories, not just about his time at Villa but his times spent with the great Brian Clough and his playing days, as well as his encounters with some icons of the entertainment world. Excellent content as always Pete. UTMV🥃
Jim Walker is a legend. He was always there in my time goin down the Villa as a kid with my Dad & as I grew up. We all thought alot of you Jim. That run onto the pitch with the magic sponge was infamous 😁Big respect to you Jim UTV 💜💙
Jim Walker was always just the guy in the team photos when I was a kid. What a wonderful person, and what great stories he has. Absolutely top drawer stuff Pete. Great interview.
Villa fan from Singapore here since 1981. Such a lovely interview with a top class gent. A real nice insight into the family spirit at Villa and between the players and the support staff. And thanks for the kind words for Singapore, Mr Walker! UTV!
Excellent interview Pete. My main memory of Jim Walker is from the FA Cup clash against Leeds (2000) when Merson & Duberry clashed heads. Merse was a mess, blood streaming down his face , but he would not leave the pitch. Jim had to pretty much drag him off, it took forever! Was a hell of a game too, with a beauty of a goal from Carbone.
Brilliant. Just a point of note Pete, can you North Americans pronounce "era", "ee-ra" and not "errra", otherwise to us it sounds like "error". 😅😂❤ Great interview 🙏🏽. Thank you
