I collect for the dreamcast, 4 games left for a complete pal set 213/217. I’m also 7 games from a complete uk pal original Xbox collection, currently sitting at 778 games for that system.
Nice one , Dreamcast is a beauty for me . I collect for it but i collect USA and pal so it rough . Nearly have complete usa. Shooters are my fav on Dreamcast . They still make games for Dreamcast too. It will live forever

Pandemonium is great, i had it back in the day as a demo from the old PS1 magazines. Also had the demo of ghost in the shell. Wish i kept hold of them now!

Of course you need that other GTA! 🤣 I only kept 3 ps1 games, driver, driver2 and DOOM (gives you doom2 on the same disc) what classics! Finished all of those games but recently started the first driver game again, I think they did improve the visuals on driver 2 plus the ability to get out of the car and I'll go on to that after but the first one is just so playable! When you finish driver2 there is a great track and it plays as the credits go up. I'm a rocker too so was surprised who it was by. Good challenge and you smashed it! Cheers🍻

That monster attack is the 1st earth defence force game. I got it for a fiver five years ago in cash converters. Its a great game and part of a great series
Great vid as usual OG. Pandemonium is a great game, definitely worth picking up. That Batman game is a collection of Arkham asylum and Arkham city, both of which are on PS3 and are pretty cheap if you don’t have them already 😊
Pandemoniums a great game Duffy, difficult but enjoyable. Favourite tomb raider is tr2 as using the boat around the Venice level blew my mind at the time and wipeout was my 1st ever Ps1 game so good choice 👍

Oh shit, that's Sittingbourne lol. Monster Attack is the alternate title for the incredible Earth Defence Force. As an old school gamer you'd probably even love the latest entries in the series they're tremendous fun with a lot of replay value.
Great pick ups OG. I am and always will be a Nintendo fan boy so megadrive I only got to love years later but ecco the dolphin always Intrigued me, was quite a unique game and as you say the magazines gave it high scores across the board, so was always interested in that. Great price 👍
Blood bowl are fun games but there never seems to be replay ability on them I always enjoy them for an hour or two but once campaign done that’s about it , it’s not got the online features like fifa / ea or madden etc. my last purchase was a switch edition
Mine personally was tomb raider 2,I bought the remasters on ps5 and I'll say this,thank god you can save anywhere,makes it more fun and less stressful 👌 completed them all on ps1 and the pain was real 😢
The reason why 360 collecting is so popular is because there's so many of the games for sale. 360 is becoming more or less vintage now. As for getting that over PS3 I don't know because they both have exclusive games. For example you can't get Forza on playstation and you can't get granturismo on Xbox. PS3 and Xbox 360 were peak of games where graphics were becoming good and it's not all about online game play like the modern games of today
The retro debate is really interesting. For me it's anything prior to the generation before last - so the PS3, 360, Wii era and before. Scary to think I was a teenager when those consoles came out 😢

Ecco! I loved this game as a kid. I remember thinking how beautiful the graphics were back then, and I just loved to swim around without any real purpose. I consider anything over 20 years old to be retro. That means PS3 isn't quite there yet, but give it a few more years and it will be. If you are able to get a black label ps1 game first, then I don't think you need to bother with a platinum version. If you get the platinum firs because that's what was available at the time, then I think getting a black label is fine if it's at a reasonable price.
Ecco is a fun game and I have now played it some more so getting the hang of it 😉 I love collecting for the PS3 such a cool system with some quality games 😀😉

The snes didnt need the extra cartridge ports for micro machines as their controllers had enough face buttons for two players to use one controller making it 4 player!
A pass, I think. I prefer the original single editions. I note Cex list Platinum PS1 games as separate listings, typically £2 less than the original editions, from looking on their website, so the question about original or Platinum, the original seems to be more desirable. Great pick ups, Ecco does get challenging so a read of the manual should help.
I think the originals will always be more expensive and for me more desirable. Since been told that there were alternate covers for GTA 2 so looks like another GTA for the collection 🤣😉
I would say anything 20+ years is retro , so I would say ps3 is entering retro when was it 2006 release! Tell you what OG , I’ve been collecting a lot of switch games, so much versatility in their games and great to collect for even tho it’s modern !
I suppose anything that's not in production is arguably retro, but many of the games don't really change that much - so maybe there's an argument there. Next year the 360 will be 20 years old... Surely it's considered retro.
Ps1 to ps4 i collect for certain games what keeps value. From silent hill to gravity rush back to the box set of killzone trilogy. I dont see x box games keeping value or worth unlike other consoles

That was Wip3out Wipeout 3 and its a beauty. I picked up Driver 2 couple weeks ago ,it was 5 bucks but had a variant cover worth a bit more on ebay , all it says is this plays better on playstation 2 printed on fron cover. Collect the variant for games you love , GTA ps1 games are legendary. Put the game in cd player and listen to the music
Ps3/360 as contentious as it is im considering retro. Mainly as theyve got to that point where gamers that grew up on those systems have started to get nostalgic for them. The recent price hikes on those games are testiment to just how popular theyre becoming. For me collecting for the 360 was out of necessity back when i started. As i was skint snd needed bang for buck gaming which back then it offered in spades. You can still find bargains for it still so its deffo a console worth owning and collecting for. But those bargains are pretty much amoung the aaa games that sold in high numbers so theres less current demand for them. The games that are flying at the moment are those considered lesser known hidden gems. Thankfully those are always the games i gravitate towards first as iv seen demand amoung earlier systems go exactly the same route so my advice is ro grab the gems first and then get the aaa later when the price drops. That way youre picking up every game at its lowest possible price and youll not miss out on any. Plus if you play it right youre collection will increase in price which puts you in a great position to transition over to the next generation of xonsoles and get a jump start. It does get on my tits when certain gamers complain about rising prices when they didnt get interested unrill they discovered the games were rusing in price. Those of us that were in on the ground floor were there for the love of the games rather than looking at £££ signs thinking we might be able to flip for a quick peofit. Theres no quick profit in game collecting. As you have to wait at least a decade to start seeing any potential pay off should you chose to sell up
Very good response matey and agree with you completely… Game collecting is and always will Be considered an expensive hobby but as we know it doesn’t have to be… Especially with PS3 games… Cheap as chips 😉 And great games available at the cheap prices too 😀🍺

Ps1 is oldest I collect for, but I fussy on it. Actually eldest might be gameboy. I collect some gameboy as I have a gba sp. I collect ps1-ps4 (ps5 is digital rn), xbox 360, xbox one, switch, gb, gb colour, gba, wii and gamecube
i was collecting ps2 i think it started looking bit like a file in system from a office spines are boring . collecting for dreamcast as and when getting super exspensive . and im with you on ps3 hooked like a fish on a hook up to 325 titles . price of games super console.....
I personally think PS2, Gameboy Advance etc are definitely retro and the PS3/360 are absolutely entering retro territory especially with the Xbox store closing down in 2 weeks or so and the price surges that will follow. I loved both systems and I played more Xbox 360 due to online gaming with friends but now I'm going back and picking up all the titles I missed for me now beloved PS3. Genuinely adore that system and library. Also I have zero fond memories of Ecco 😂 that game infuriated me as a kid

Retro = over 15 years. classic = over 21 years. vintage = over 25 years and Antigue = over 50+ years 😊 so i'm an antique haha you have to consider the console itself for aging do you take it from when it cam out or when the console finished, example of this would be the Wii which came out in 2006 but ran till 2019 didn't it? Or 17 so is it 5 years old or 18 years old?arly forgot after antique it goes to historic and then prehistoric, I don't think we will see any games getting to the last 2 m8 haha
So a double is not a double when there are different variants of the game , for instance I have 3 copies of Turok 2 on the N64 , normal version , 1 came with a HMV CD soundtrack and the other a Dixons soundtrack , also retro wise I don’t consider PS3 or XBOX 360 retro thought they are great to collect for , PS2 and OG Xbox are borderline retro
i look for the og xbox more but it is hard to find here so the ps2 is cheaper ande easier to collect but if i find a og xbox game i got the ps2 version go. xbox 360 i collect morte because better controller.
i whoud keep the silver label u got it got the most updated version on it. the dubbel part is when a game is differten like aladin on the nes/ mega gear same title different game play. the gta2 is a dubbel u got the same game already but in a collection on the same system.

Ps1 to ps4 i collect for certain games what keeps value. From silent hill to gravity rush back to the box set of killzone trilogy.
I dont see x box games keeping value or worth unlike other consoles

Last genuine retro console? I'd say anything in the 5th Generation - PS1 etc. Anything onwards I just can't accept as retro lol

Gta 2 what a game duffy buddy 😊 I much prefer the old top down style for gta. Yeah echo the dolphin.... mmmm.... remember getting that for Christmas back in the day and thinking what the hell am I ment to do 😂 xenon on the master system aint the best bud, saying that mind it could be as I was playing r-type and submarine attack just before playing it

I collect for the switch and ps4 currently got 300 switch games and 200 ps4 games i only go for the games im going to play ive also just started collecting for the 3ds got about 70 so far

That was Wip3out Wipeout 3 and its a beauty. I picked up Driver 2 couple weeks ago ,it was 5 bucks but had a variant cover worth a bit more on ebay , all it says is this plays better on playstation 2 printed on fron cover. Collect the variant for games you love , GTA ps1 games are legendary. Put the game in cd player and listen to the music

Ps3/360 as contentious as it is im considering retro. Mainly as theyve got to that point where gamers that grew up on those systems have started to get nostalgic for them. The recent price hikes on those games are testiment to just how popular theyre becoming. For me collecting for the 360 was out of necessity back when i started. As i was skint snd needed bang for buck gaming which back then it offered in spades. You can still find bargains for it still so its deffo a console worth owning and collecting for. But those bargains are pretty much amoung the aaa games that sold in high numbers so theres less current demand for them. The games that are flying at the moment are those considered lesser known hidden gems. Thankfully those are always the games i gravitate towards first as iv seen demand amoung earlier systems go exactly the same route so my advice is ro grab the gems first and then get the aaa later when the price drops. That way youre picking up every game at its lowest possible price and youll not miss out on any. Plus if you play it right youre collection will increase in price which puts you in a great position to transition over to the next generation of xonsoles and get a jump start. It does get on my tits when certain gamers complain about rising prices when they didnt get interested unrill they discovered the games were rusing in price. Those of us that were in on the ground floor were there for the love of the games rather than looking at £££ signs thinking we might be able to flip for a quick peofit. Theres no quick profit in game collecting. As you have to wait at least a decade to start seeing any potential pay off should you chose to sell up

I collect for ps2 but especially ps3.. ps3 over xbox 360 as ps3 was my first proper console I was late to it then others my age (26) but I do get 360 exclusives or if it's cheaper than ps3 and available I'll get it on 360. My first console was the wii that I shared with my siblings. I think ps2 is the max for retro.. I don't want ps3 to be retro😂 ps1 is definitely retro to me coz it came out before I was born😅 I love the driver series! I got 1, 2, 3 and San Francisco collectors edition
Ps1 is oldest I collect for, but I fussy on it. Actually eldest might be gameboy. I collect some gameboy as I have a gba sp. I collect ps1-ps4 (ps5 is digital rn), xbox 360, xbox one, switch, gb, gb colour, gba, wii and gamecube

i was collecting ps2 i think it started looking bit like a file in system from a office spines are boring . collecting for dreamcast as and when getting super exspensive . and im with you on ps3 hooked like a fish on a hook up to 325 titles . price of games super console.....

I personally think PS2, Gameboy Advance etc are definitely retro and the PS3/360 are absolutely entering retro territory especially with the Xbox store closing down in 2 weeks or so and the price surges that will follow. I loved both systems and I played more Xbox 360 due to online gaming with friends but now I'm going back and picking up all the titles I missed for me now beloved PS3. Genuinely adore that system and library.
Also I have zero fond memories of Ecco 😂 that game infuriated me as a kid

Original Pokemon games do fetch a good amount but to be honest I’m really not big into Pokemon so don’t check out the prices too often.

Retro = over 15 years. classic = over 21 years. vintage = over 25 years and Antigue = over 50+ years 😊 so i'm an antique haha you have to consider the console itself for aging do you take it from when it cam out or when the console finished, example of this would be the Wii which came out in 2006 but ran till 2019 didn't it? Or 17 so is it 5 years old or 18 years old?arly forgot after antique it goes to historic and then prehistoric, I don't think we will see any games getting to the last 2 m8 haha

So a double is not a double when there are different variants of the game , for instance I have 3 copies of Turok 2 on the N64 , normal version , 1 came with a HMV CD soundtrack and the other a Dixons soundtrack , also retro wise I don’t consider PS3 or XBOX 360 retro thought they are great to collect for , PS2 and OG Xbox are borderline retro

i look for the og xbox more but it is hard to find here so the ps2 is cheaper ande easier to collect but if i find a og xbox game i got the ps2 version go.

the dubbel part is when a game is differten like aladin on the nes/ mega gear same title different game play.
the gta2 is a dubbel u got the same game already but in a collection on the same system.
