Another awesome video! I work from home and these are perfect to put on my second screen. Breaks up the monotony and make the work seem so much less tedious!
As a new viewer who’s also new to the retro collecting hobby, focusing solely on getting myself all the nostalgic games of my past that I absolutely loved alongside a decent collection of the ones I missed out on which I think will make a great long-lasting gaming experience for myself and my future kids etc, I have to say I really enjoy the content & the communal feel in this niche! Each episode makes me hopeful I’ll be able to find the games I miss and crave for my own collection. Awesome stuff🔥🍻
Seeing Metal Gear Solid and Syphon Filter has just bought a massive wave of nostalgia over me! So many hours in those 2 games when i was growing up. You've sent me on a PS1 console hunt, great video.
I remember when I worked in gamestation back in the day we got tons of those GameCube Zelda collections delivered, they were given away as part of the windwaker gold GameCube bundles, but we got loads more disks than we did consoles so a few may have gone ‘missing’ 😂
Hearing you talk about memories of GameStation bought back memories of my nan taking me to EB, which in return bought a tear to my eye as she is currently in my mum's living room on end of life care😢
You’ve inspired me to begin collecting my childhood gaming classics again. Just at the beginning but I can see the buzz and addiction element 😬 love seeing the vids.
For the conspiracy minded: Matt the “guy I keep missing at CEX” doesn’t exist. It’s an illusion, RG’s alternate personality, which he uses to buy more games without admitting to himself just how many he buys 😄
I picked up the Zelda collectors game in BlockBuster for 20 quid, I remember being surprised to see it because I didn’t think it was sold in retail but I imagine it was obtained various ways because it’s not as rare as you’d think it would be if it was only obtained through the method mentioned.
im new to your channel, growing up with all the retro consoles, was a big part of my childhood and teenage years. and over the years now and again i would invest in those consoles, but having to get rid of due to circumstances. apart from CEX there is only one shop that i know over the years has had retro video games. its very small electronics store, used to have loads of retro games, not so sure anymore, very small store in Bury called Victor Wrights electronic store. used to have them in the window displays. wish we had more retro stores up north. but loving your content, love your collection and your set up is mint. thanks for the nostalgia.
Another fab vlog to sit down with a cuppa in the morning to start the day 👍🏼 Love the idea of a time lapse drawing!! Also really enjoy watching you play through some games from each console. It really gets me wanting to get a different system out to show the appreciation to the console. Have a good week 😊
55:25 Ghostbusters the video game…played through it on the PS3 about a year ago, not bad, definitely worth a go. Yeah it’s voiced by the original actors and has the original music (which gets a bit repetitive after a while) and plenty of references to the films. It’ll scratch that ghostbusters itch but don’t expect a classic.
Thank you very much for helping me out I watched your video when you went to Kirkby sales and exchange recently and I noticed that they had a couple of FIFA’s I needed for the megadrive as it was only 20 mins away from me I went and got them I didn’t even know that store existed.
I’m 47 now, when I was about 22 I started collecting “retro” systems. Immaculate boxed SNES & Gameboy, Megadrive, all poly inserts, paperwork, all bags etc. Games, back in those days you had the pick as not a lot of people were doing it. Suffice to say, I sold it all a few years later. Gutted. I still think of the SNES to this day! 😂
Hey callum just finished watching your video while packing for the move can't wait really enjoyed it always makes my Sundays special thank you for the great content and Happy Easter
Great week with some great games! "Sneaked an extra sword" cracked me up 😂 I picked up driver San Fransisco collectors edition this week. Definitely one for the smaller big boxed games with a window collection!
I had a chipped PS1 and I remember having Syphon filter about 3 months before it came out over here, it was the ntsc version had to buy a converter from the back of a magazine so could play it in colour as it would only play in black and white 😂😂
Great video as always. Glad you picked the wall for the Magazine, I voted for Mrs Rg's suggestion, I hope she was happy that most of us sided with her 😂😂 Didn't know about how people got the Zelda Compilation back in the day, so good to know. Props to RG Jr for confessing he had "added" an extra sword to his figure 😂😂
Grid is one of my favorite racing games ever, none of the sequels can match up to it imho. The TOCA Racedriver (in some regions it has different names) series was the prequel to Grid and those are some awesome games too! Race Pro was a console version of a (at the time) very well received car simulation series called Race 07 and its expansion pack, GTR Evolution. It was known for its license for WTCC and STCC. They were some of my favorite simulator games to play on PC; and GTR 2, a game by the same developers were considered a gold standard for a very long time. It is a shame they couldn't translate their success to consoles.
Callum destruction derby two is like my second most favourite game for the ps1! It’s soo good even now but I could never get to the top league so hard remember the awesome arcade like sayings; “YOIR RADIATOR IS BLOWN!” EPIC MATE
I found metal gear solid with the silent hill demo at a car boot fair in Devon whilst staying with an auntie and I couldn’t bet what I found there I guess as it’s so remote. I was the only guy there hunting video games I ended up taking that off him for £5 and an Atari 2600 boxed with OG Mario bros cart on it I kid you not was probably the best car boot find I ever had
imagine if you brought other content creators to your game room and did a series talking about the first game they ever played and their favourite games, sorta in a complex sneaker shopping/kick game style but with video games
Great finds. I'm very pleased with my gets this week. I got Pal version of Spawn(arrived today shockingly as didn't think RM delivered on Sundays) for the Snes. Thrilled to get that. And had £250 in cex vouchers after trading in some tech stuff. Got Marvel Vs Capcom 2 for Dreamcast, Blood will tell for PS2 and Pinocchio and rival turf for Snes.
I felt the same about mad world, even all those years ago! My mate brought it over 1 time and I was bored (and confused) quick ! 😂 love some redsteel tho
morning For a minute i almost had some serious FOMO going on, didnt know if i could watch the vlog on easter sunday...i made it. Some pretty dope ps1 bangers you picked up there, plus i think you have set a new Retro Ghetto record, that montage was epic!!!😀 be safe be seen
Some great finds at that toy fair. I went to one this morning and found spec ops the line for £6, grabbed that quick. Kicking myself as I should've check the PS3 but not collecting for PS3 currently. I recently used my CEX vouchers to get MGS twin snakes on GC as always wanted it. MGS HD collection for 360. And outrun 2 for xbox. Looking forward to them coming. Picked up RE4 for £20 on ps5 from FB Market Place. That's my hunts for the week. Really tempted my Prince of Persia on Switch. Looks like your enjoying it. What good shooter ups and 2D platformers should I get for XBOX new and old as on a hunt. Also great to see you playing Grid. I work in games. As a video editor. And worked for Codemasters on GRID Legends. Great games, great company. I went on to EA with them. I now work for Build a Rocket Boy working on trailers and UI. Keep up the great videos. Always love the hunt!
Probably the most expensive PS1 game I saw in that box was Bloody Roar. £35 game now and its a very fun beat em up. I wonder what he had the price of the rest of those games, as they're great prices. Great pick ups as well. Some proper classics. Also the sequel to Baja. World Championship Off-road Racing is very uncommon game, especially on the PS3. Still pretty cheap in CEX. I got mine not too long ago.
It looks like that MvC3 steelbook is a G2 steelbook, so will fit in with the PS3 games as it’s the same size as a BluRay case. I think I’ve got both the G1 and G2 Steelbooks along with the MvC3 comic that came with the game as a preorder bonus. Happy Easter mate.
That street fighter sticker album is awesome! Iv never seen that album , I don’t remember that one from school but I was elbows deep in panini premier league shineys back then lol
I played and completed Syphon Filter for the 1st time at the end of 2022. Very frustrating on some missions but... LOVED IT. Fantastic game / story. The controls didn't take long to get used to but could certainly use an updated version (is the ps4 online one updated controls?)👀 and that awesomely minty n64 box sticker is a virgin megastore one 👌💪
Arrowflash and Chiki Chiki Boys. That’s not bad. Even though Arrowflash isnt among the best shooters on MD its still decent. But them Chiki Boys brings one of my favourite games on the system. So much arcade fun but still a fair, enjoyable and beatable game. Love it! 4.5/5 pickup!
Ahh mate ive been getting baxk intio my retro gaming after years having found my game and watch and SNES in the folks's attic so now building a retro gaming room but looks likeI've got a way to go to beat yours! Im pretty aure i had that WWF magazine with The Hitman Brett Hart on the cover. Great stuff mate. Subscribed 👍 EDIT' And on top of that a Gooner i noticed. Up The Arsenal! 💪
Excluding Nintendo cardboard, which console do you think had the best case? I was always a Sega guy so the mega drive was good but I found then tend to split down the seams when opened a lot.
As for that Zelda gamecube collection... the 2 main ways I know about it were in the Double dash game case console bundle I got for Xmas. Which meant it was just the disc inside DD so not cool box, and the other was free with early Windwaker copies. I love the N64, my favourite memories so your "one of 4 good games, ok maybe 7" did strike a nerve but even I'm aware the titles worth owning don't reach higher than 10-20 really depending on tastes. That size of games is a perfect collection and of course people will have different top 10s/20s. Shame many of the n64 versions are so expensive! So I opted for the lesser powerful ps1 versions.. a-la Duke nukem, glover, bugs life and Toy Story 2! For example
Punchout you can play it normally if you don't feel like moving around. I have gotten into Wii lately and I try to find stuff I can easily play from the couch lol
with your ps3 essentials have you got the ratchet and clank games i think ive got the same list as you and noticed that Ratchet and Clank Tools of destruction and Ratchet and Clank a crack in time weren't on the list but are infact essentials
Punch out on the wii is brilliant, do yourself a favour and turn the wiimote sideways as if was a nes controller. The later fighters get very tough and playing it with wii boxing controls will be very tricky.
Damn, so close to stars aligning as I ended up with a loose copy of Shattered Dimensions from a Charity Shop 2 days ago (£1, in the wrong case which I didn’t realise). 360 won’t read it though, scratched and pretty sure it has disc rot otherwise would have happily sent it your way 😢
Fun fact: the Zelda Collection discs we're also given out by Nintendo reps to staff at GAME, a couple of my colleagues and I got one :)
You've got a million dollar smile mate.
😁
Hi mate. Glad you enjoyed the stall. Priced to sell that day. It's sound seeing you go through and reviewing my old bits and bobs. Enjoy👍
It certainly was! appreciate the awesome deals, it's gone to a good home my friend 🙏
Here we gooo!! your videos automatically makes my morning alot better ❤
Thank you Ben! Enjoy my friend

Completed it recently and it's so underrated!
It’s currently 5 am in the us and it’s always nice waking up to your vlogs on a Sunday
Hearing you talk about memories of GameStation bought back memories of my nan taking me to EB, which in return bought a tear to my eye as she is currently in my mum's living room on end of life care😢
Always a good day when Calum drops a Video
Some epic journey you and Son had to start it off,See you at the next one take care

🤣🤣..... okay, okay... not 5..... maybe .... 4 🤷♂️😅
What can I say Superb vlog as always. Brighten my day, you sir got me back into gaming and collecting much to my Mrs dismay lol.

I got that Zelda Collectors Edition for GameCube as a pre-order bonus from GAME, maybe when pre-ordering Wind Waker
Hey callum just finished watching your video while packing for the move can't wait really enjoyed it always makes my Sundays special thank you for the great content and Happy Easter
I had that one stall gold hit this time at Stafford. Bought 6/7 pieces for my collection all from the same seller and at a steal 😂
Hi callum great video and pick ups room gets better each week loving it
Love your videos little man is enjoying it too. Keep Collecting. Love the smiles. 😊❤
Great week with some great games! "Sneaked an extra sword" cracked me up 😂

I’ ve never been in any retro toy fair, just videogames fair.I’m happy little man get some nice legos too.
Also love that WCW game box 2 absolute legends of the Game on the cover too you can’t go wrong with that
I spent countless hours playing GRID back in the day! Quality game!
Some awesome additions to the collection mate. That WCW vs NWO box looks real nice 😉. 👍👊
Great video as always. Glad you picked the wall for the Magazine, I voted for Mrs Rg's suggestion, I hope she was happy that most of us sided with her 😂😂
Didn't know about how people got the Zelda Compilation back in the day, so good to know.

Awesome! That's what it's all about! 👊🏻
Great video as always. Wow so much great new games to add to your amazing collection. Always love seeing ps1. 😊
Grid and Grid 2 are great arcade racers that feel pretty gritty (sorry) but remain very arcadey. Very satisfying racing!
Callum destruction derby two is like my second most favourite game for the ps1! It’s soo good even now but I could never get to the top league so hard remember the awesome arcade like sayings; “YOIR RADIATOR IS BLOWN!” EPIC MATE
Great vlog again and great pickups 👌

I like to see all the PS3 essentials lined up looks good but them far cry spines annoy me more than they should 😂
Stood out to me too! 😅
Yes!! PlayStation! Now you are talking my language! 👌🏻
Not very often you get funds like that!
Not at that price mate, you did well!!
Your collection looks amazing puts ours to shame 😂

Random question but the grey hoodie you're wearing, what brand/logo is it?
Also can we get an updated link to the discord on the patreon? Joined today 🙌🏻

Yeah really enjoying it thus far
@@RetroGhetto the touring cars is the best part of the game.driving them on the spa circuit was the best part of the game.
The sticker on the n64 box was a virgin megastore one
You going the NEC this weekend for the big toy fair
Yes mate
Hi Just like to know would it be possible to get a list from you of all the Essential PS3 games. Cheers
Good vid as always! It would be great if you shared how much everything cost (like a total haul cost at the end of talking through the pick ups)
Excluding Nintendo cardboard, which console do you think had the best case? I was always a Sega guy so the mega drive was good but I found then tend to split down the seams when opened a lot.
You should get all the grid games. All fantastic.

Great pick ups.
Your last two games hahahahahahahahahahaha
Both the final fantasies? There's three :D
what is the gaming music u play called. It's banging
Nice one m8 😊 I don't like madworld either or Ivy the Kiwi much prefer moving the character myself but it is a game becoming really expensive.
Episodes from liberty city is such a fun game
Burton CEX? My local too!
