1981 for me was one of the best years of my life…..Where has all that time gone too!
I was 12 and my home was miserable with alcoholic violent parents. This song meant a lot to me at the time. The 80s were incredible for music and freedom. I feel so lucky I got to be young in the 80s.

The 80s were such an incredible time for music, where songs and groups were not all manufactured via Simon Cowell, but there was innovation and true talent. Being a teenager or in our 20s during this time was just such fun, discos, dancing, slow dances and kisses, great music. So nostalgic to hear this, I'm transported back to a time of being care free and a much simpler life.
Some of the most awful dribble and absolute shite music was in the 80s .you seem to forget the music industry was run by a handful of people just like Simon Cowell who churned out shite after shite after shite year after year. Oh boohoo music was much better in the 80s .it was in my arse ffs 😂

The Butlins and Pontins 80s weekenders have The Fizz performing quite regular, Ive seen them about four times in 12 months.. and will be in Prestatyn Pontins this July.. also performing is Go West, Toyah, Dr and the Medics and DJ set with Martin Kemp...
1980s music doesn't come anywhere close to music of the late 1950s and 1960s
Oh! We lived in England then and never missed "Top of the Pops" on Thursday nights. Bucks Fizz was a favorite. This is total childhood nostalgia.
TOTP was a British staple in British households back in the day. Miss those days.
I lived in Wales between November 1971 and April 1982. Watching TOTP was a favourite and I definitely remember seeing Bucks Fizz performing this song. Ah bliss!

You can see that everyone in this video, from Bucks Fizz themselves to the audience, is looking happy and having fun. I wish I could go back to this happy part of my childhood.

I was having a hard time at my horrible school back in late 1981, but when I hear this all I remember is the snow and frost everywhere at the time (Northern England) and the magic of Christmas and New Year in the early 80s, what feels like a millennium ago.

This song always reminds me of Christmas when I was a kid, makes more sense now that the song was released in November 1981 and was no 1 in January 1982. Happy memories, that are never fully appreciated when you are growing up.

Takes me back , my ex long term girlfriend used to dance to this and had the same hairstyle as Jay Aston . sadly years later she passed away aged 40 from Cancer whilst married to someone else . We were very close and this great song just transports me back to those days .

Still a great, really catchy song, more than 40 years on. A real feel good tune. Better than the Eurovision song in my book. Who knows where this band could have gone but for Mike's accident. Sadly we will never know. This tune brings me back to much happier times
