    Alright Tony, as a PA boy, with another PA boy over here in the UK, come on over to England and do an on-location video of “Stay Tuned.” Hell, I’ll even pay for your airfare. The English engine/Foxbody combination has me intrigued. That said, we are just a couple of Pennsylvania boys and a British mate, with Foxbody Mustangs doing the impossible over here; restoring, rebuilding and drag racing with the logistic pains of being overseas.

    • @MikeAnderson-uj3oo
      @MikeAnderson-uj3oo 9 месяцев назад +1

      I was right there with ya. I know how tight those engine bays are to begin with. They still have a lot of hurdles to jump. At least they have the main one cleared.

    • @cudak888
      @cudak888 9 месяцев назад

      @@MikeAnderson-uj3oo Even though they have some massive issues to deal with, I'd say the remaining hurdles are next to nothing (though I would have tried a K-member that supports coilovers in order to hack out the shock towers for throttle body clearance). If there's a bellhousing, there will be a flywheel and clutch, and the remaining bits to make it workable are nothing in comparison to the job they just achieved. Plus, since they had to low-mount the rack, they should be able to avoid the bump steer issue by using the later spindles - relatively easy issues to overcome.
      The only thing I'm concerned about are engine mounts. I don't trust how far out they're cantilevered, or the thickness of the mounting plate. That's the only obvious point of failure that I'm seeing at the moment.

    • @cudak888
      @cudak888 9 месяцев назад

      @@earlbrown They can hack the core support and install one slightly angled, C4 Vette style. They can go full Porsche and run a pair of radiators on either side of the fenders - and given Tony's experience with a 996s - including having PowerKraut on hand as a reference - doing that wouldn't be too difficult either. So many ways to make this happen.
      The intake is the only concern I still have. Does the "other" intake bolt up as the internet claims it will, will it drive the build cost way up, and will it provide the clearance necessary?

    I've owned several Ford era Jaguars. The biggest issue I encountered on almost every one was the wiring. Mechanically, they are built tough. And yes, I do know I'm talking about Jaguar. Like Jeremy Clarkson said once, an Aston is basically a Jaguar in a party frock.
    In the situation you guys are in, you will no doubt be using an aftermarket, stand alone, wire harness. So you will be able to eliminate all the issues they are notorious for. Fun fact, the reason things seem to good to be true on availability for conversion parts is because the 6.0 v12 from Aston was a ford design utilizing the 3.0 duratec v6 block as starting point. They literally duplicated the casting end to end to make a v12

      Small block Chevette,
      4x4 Elcamino,

    Simply Stunning!
    I absolutely love this build, Tony! I can’t say enough about it but I’ll try. This embodies the true spirit of hot rodding, just like the vets did on the dry lake beds after they returned home from WWII.
    Speaking of “dub’ya, dub’ya TWO,” as my beloved grandpa used to call it, I’m reminded another well known Mustang that benefited greatly from a British V-12 swap, the fighter aircraft that served as inspiration for Lee Iacocca’s original Ford Mustang: the P-51!
    Not sure if you realized it, Tony, but you just stumbled upon my dream custom build with significant historical heritage. I instantly envisioned a bright silver paint job with air brushed panels and rivets in a direct nod to the P-51D, with an old school olive drab interior with stacks of aviation gauges, levers, and canvas or leather bomber seats? My imagination is running wild with names like “LOW LEVEL ‘STANG” or, since it was the Rolls-Royce designed engine that completely transformed the Mustang into a real world beater, just straight up call it “MERLIN!”
    One last thought- if you route the exhaust out the front fenders to resemble the aircraft, paint some nose art of a dark haired, bosomy pinup girl in knee-high socks and not much else, name her “SIMPLY STUNNING” as she is on my tattoo and you can consider me at the top perspective buyers. Please! My wife may divorce me but I’d go into debt for the opportunity to own this direct link to aviation and automotive history. Don’t call me crazy, just crazy enthusiastic.😂

    From 1999 to 2006 the Lincoln LS was available with a 3.0 l v6 with a manual transmission. The Aston Martin V12 was built from the 3.0 l v6 molds. Therefore the rest of the rear of the engines are the same. The flywheel and clutch from the Lincoln engine will bolt up to the crank on the V 12. I have seen both engines and when you look at them from the rear you can't tell the difference. Ford would use all the same dimensions as they already had the main parts. I don't think the clutch would be able to handle the torque oh the V 12 but it would be a start. Hope this helps. Good luck.

    Dudes!! Mad props!! Just saying it... V-12 Mustang!! Ahhhhh.... I found myself saying several things at diff. points. 1) They're gonna have to cut that firewall out to let that monster roam: remains 2b seen! 1a) They're gonna end up w a 13" driveshaft!! 2) Gonna have to cut that trans tunnel: True! 3) Don't like the angle of the dangle! (motor mounts) need gussets! 4) Still have major hurdles: room for accessories, Rad, fans, steering shaft, Master cyl, (maybe under floor or electric?) HEADERS!! Carnac says: (answer): I see a LOT of Fab in your future!! All that said?? "DAMN THE TORPEDOS"!! FULL SPEED AHEAD!! Brakes?? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING BRAKES!! BRAKES ARE FOR QUITTERS!! I love the antique crane/hoist being used, but gotta put an electric hoist on her. The chains dragging on body's gives me chills. It'd be around $15k fully installed to that original crane, which I know is literally a project. But so worth it. Maybe at 500k subs :)
