I love the sink and vanity. It is beautiful! I’m so happy for you that you found the company that would make it work. Thank you for sharing w/ us. You are a darling lady…..and pretty smart, too!
I think it turned out really pretty and it looks much more appropriate to the age of the house than a vessel sink would have. We did something similar when we restored our old home 13 years ago, although I didn’t find a piece that had original marble. We had to buy a slab of marble for ours. We did this in our kids’ bathroom and I wouldn’t recommend doing that. An accident happened with fingernail polish remover or something like that and it etched the marble pretty badly. Also, stains appeared in the marble. It isn’t a very durable stone, just in case someone is thinking of doing the same. I would save it for the parents’ bathroom.
I just re did my powder room and put in a gorgeous French antique for the vanity. I really sweated out getting the marble cut for fear of breakage but all went well. I used a drop in black scalloped porcelain sink and we had the two bottom drawers cut down and the top drawer is now just a false front. Due to the size of the sink, the marble lip, and the depth of the drawer front I had VERY little room for error! I wish I could add pictures because the room turned out so beautifully. I put a French trumeau over the vanity for my mirror and wallpapered the room. Also added an antique crystal chandelier and many other touches. It is now my dream powder room!
Lisa, you have a DARLING way of sharing your life and home. With grateful empty nesting arms... your Vermont sister living on a large farm in rural South Australia since 1995! Inspired from afar! My sister here, gave me a dresser.... and now I'm keen to measure it up! Bless you and your family and ESPECIALLY that wee babe growing! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺⬆️✝️🙏🕊🌺🌻💐💝🌺🌻💐💝🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸
Absolutely beautiful! You’re so talented and your vision is incredible. Good for you for not taking ‘No’ for an answer. It all looks perfect and what you did with the drawers was smart. Kudos to you and your husband!
Lisa, your smaller sink also gives you more space on top for your beautiful touches! ❤️. Great video. Bravo to both of you for getting to the finish line on this beautiful bathroom. ❤️
When vessel sinks first came out, we made our own & used bowls that we really liked, as there weren't as many styles to choose from when they first came out. It never drained properly because a regular bowl is more flat on the bottom. So we always had a little bit of water sitting in the bottom. Just something to think about if anyone is thinking of making their own vessel sink & using their own bowl, or any other type of container for that matter...
After all the extra maneuvering and brain twisting thoughts, the vanity looks fantastic !!!! I love how unique and lovely it looks in your bathroom!! Thank you for sharing!
I love that vanity! That had to have been made in the 1800's or early 1900's! Love antique furniture like that and you can redo it to what you want! It is a lovely bathroom!
I never knew that I wanted a vanity made out of a dresser, until I saw this video!! 😆 Already searching Facebook marketplace for my own dresser! 😊 Thanks for the inspiration! Yours turned out so well!!
You can always add a piece of board to each side towards the wall and stain it to match the original stain. That would give you more space for the marble and a bigger sink.
You chose wisely with the undercount sink. Access to the vessel sink would be difficult for the children due to the height of it. It is absolutely beautiful! We just installed the same floor in our bathroom and have a drop in sink in an old Victorian sideboard.
WOW Lisa your bathroom is really really beautiful, right down to the style of your door knob…. I told you I’m fixing up my old farmhouse and I’m going to steal this idea from you- Hope you don’t mind… I absolutely love the look of the dresser and white marble top.. Thanks so much for sharing you’re SUCH a sweetheart 😊
Your vanity is absolutely beautiful!!! We searched for months and months and could not find an antique vanity that would work for our bathroom since we were working with such specific measurements, so my husband ended up building ours and I was able to get my beloved copper sink for it.
My husband and I put a antique dresser in our bathroom and we done a drop in Sync and cut that drawers like you were talking about and built the Wall up on them and we had storage and every drawer even the top one the way he done it
I think the piece turned out absolutely gorgeous You just can't do better than antique and redone for home like yours 😍❣️❣️ But yes there's a but.... Please tell me you're going to show us the whole process of redoing that bathroom?? That's what I want to see I want to see more of the updates and the makeovers of the spaces in your home, and in this amazing older farmhouse home where you're restoring it to more authentic look and feel just like the vanity for that bathroom 😉❣️❣️❣️ So please tell me your documented these makeovers for these rooms and you're going to show them to us because that's what I'm waiting for 🤭❣️😇❣️❣️
I certainly give you credit for doing this, seems like quite a bit of work. Marble is gorgeous, but I would worry kids would stain it, margic markers etc. It does look just perfect though.
I hate vessel sinks. I flip homes, I am a woman and let me tell you men always want to do whatever is easiest. The first thing they say is no. Eventually they do what I say but it is Always a battle. Your bathroom looks fabulous! Well done!
Very helpful! Your project turned out lovely. Is the structure of the dresser solid still? I’ve had a vessel sink before and hated it. They are pretty but don’t hold up well with kids, and the angle to wash hands is awkward.
Lisa please read. I just received a refurbished iMac since my birthday is approaching. I have an iPhone and iPad but not the desktop iMac. My question is do I just sign onto teachable to continue on with my course? I absolutely love how the bathroom turned out, the vanity is stunning. I have dark furniture and people are so crazy about white. I think those dark pieces are timeless
Love that vanity so much! What are the chances you both found that same antique vanity, that's amazing! Key piece of information here is to stick to what it is that you want and find someone willing to help you achieve it, so often contractors aren't willing to do anything that is out of the norm which I understand, but there's always someone!
Beautiful job. It looks gorgeous!! Totally worth all the agro. Does your husband ever roll his eyes and wonder what is the latest mess his wife has got him into?😂. Mine used to and then set to to try and work it out!!
That was quite a project Lisa!!! It turned out beautifully, be sure to tell your kiddos not to stand on the marble (you know how kids can be!) as it could crack. Your farmhouse is looking so pretty!
Honestly it has been a while since we did that so I really don't remember. I have learned over the years that things like this vary depending on where you live....your best bet is to find a local business that does this and check their pricing...
Its bar sink isnt it ? First thing I said when I saw the marble top was it was to thin...Glad it worked out for you. I dont really like marble they glutted the market with it for the last 20 yrs Im tired of looking at it hahah

Thank you so much!
I loved your statement, "I wasn't giving up" and just look how beautiful it turned out! It is stunning!!!
Thank you!
Love it!❤️
Get out of the Way of a Woman w/ a Vision! Great creation!
Enjoy!🎈
I don’t care for vessel sinks. I think what you did is beautiful!

The sink turned out beautifully!!!! It looks original.

Your bathroom is very pretty. You have done a great job to make it functional, family friendly, and eye appealing!

You always show us endurance!! Beautiful!

I was thinking the same-more decorating space!
Thank you for all the tips based on experience. We will be trying something similar for our 140yr old house and your videos are invaluable to us.

Wise care you took of the marble. The entire piece looks beautiful and quite practical, too.
Your bathroom looks absolutely beautiful! Honestly, its breathtaking!
Thank you so much!
Lovely job on the sink and vanity.
I’ve always wanted to make a vanity from an old dresser. Your bathroom turned out so nice! Thanks for inspiring us to make houses into homes.
Thank you!
My husband built something like that 30 plus years ago and I still love it. Your bathroom is gorgeous! Everything is so fresh.
Everything is just perfect-so much beautiful character! Well done y'all.
I love that vanity! That had to have been made in the 1800's or early 1900's! Love antique furniture like that and you can redo it to what you want! It is a lovely bathroom!

yes do it! you won't regret it -- thanks!

That's true! But then you can't use the original marble.
You chose wisely with the undercount sink. Access to the vessel sink would be difficult for the children due to the height of it. It is absolutely beautiful! We just installed the same floor in our bathroom and have a drop in sink in an old Victorian sideboard.
wow! so beautiful!! Love the color of the wood with the marble
Lisa, you are looking absolutely radiant!! This is one of my favorite projects! GORGEOUS!
Oh thank you!
I'm so glad that you didn't give up on the sink. It Turn out so beautiful 💚 hope some day soon I Will have an old house to fix and do this projets

You did s marvelous job!
Everything looks perfect and amazing 😊👍.
Wow Lisa, that looks amazing!! So happy it worked out for you 😊👍🏻❤️.
Me too!! thanks!
So clever how you did the drawers! You always need storage!
WOW Lisa your bathroom is really really beautiful, right down to the style of your door knob…. I told you I’m fixing up my old farmhouse and I’m going to steal this idea from you- Hope you don’t mind… I absolutely love the look of the dresser and white marble top.. Loved the vanity
It turned out beautiful! Have you sealed any of the dresser ? I would just put a clear sealer and it would stop water stains!! Joyce
I haven't, but we probably should!
I was wondering the same!
This is lovely! Vessel sinks are more breakable with children around, anyhow (or with klutzy parents, in my case 🙃)
Vanity is great. Shout out well deserved🌷
It looks simply beautiful! 🧡🤗
oh my word its gorgeous i love it!
Looks beautiful! I don’t care about vessel sinks but yours looks great!
Your vanity is absolutely beautiful!!! We searched for months and months and could not find an antique vanity that would work for our bathroom since we were working with such specific measurements, so my husband ended up building ours and I was able to get my beloved copper sink for it.
Well it sounds like it came together beautifully even though you couldn’t find an antique!
It's just perfect for your home! What a beauty!
Thank you so much!
I think the vessel sink would have been difficult for the kids to use. I love what you did😊
My husband and I put a antique dresser in our bathroom and we done a drop in Sync and cut that drawers like you were talking about and built the Wall up on them and we had storage and every drawer even the top one the way he done it
It’s absolutely beautiful Lisa! I prefer what you did☺️
You did a beautiful job on this Lisa !!! I LOVE it!!! God's blessings on you and your family !! :)
I’ve been wanting a sink like that for a long time, hopefully soon. The thing is I can’t find a dresser that I really like. Yours is beautiful !
That's so beautiful
I did this too, Lisa, in our girls bathroom, and we love it🤍❣️ We might do it in our bathroom too?
I think the piece turned out absolutely gorgeous You just can't do better than antique and redone for home like yours 😍❣️❣️ But yes there's a but.... Yep! I already posted them along the way.
It is stunning!
I love it! So beautiful.
Beautiful and very informative!
Totally worth it. Just beautiful...xo
I love this idea and hope to recreate it one day 💜
I certainly give you credit for doing this, seems like quite a bit of work. Marble is gorgeous, but I would worry kids would stain it, margic markers etc. It does look just perfect though.
I'm ok if it gets from character from the kids :) it will just age it even more haha
I just received you video 9 hrs later , wow wonder why it takes so long to post. Love the bathroom and sink / dresser.
I hate vessel sinks. I flip homes, I am a woman and let me tell you men always want to do whatever is easiest. The first thing they say is no. Eventually they do what I say but it is Always a battle. Your bathroom looks fabulous! Well done!
thank you!
Very helpful! Your project turned out lovely. Is the structure of the dresser solid still? I’ve had a vessel sink before and hated it. They are pretty but don’t hold up well with kids, and the angle to wash hands is awkward.
So far so good!
Lisa please read. I just received a refurbished iMac since my birthday is approaching. I have an iPhone and iPad but not the desktop iMac. Yes! Just login through teachable
Very nice
Beautiful job. Looks really nice. What color are the walls?
the beige is balanced beige by sherwin Williams
Beau tiful!
Did you try finding an RV size sink?
I love it!
Love that vanity so much! What are the chances you both found that same antique vanity, that's amazing! Exactly! You really have to push contractors a little if you're doing something other than the norm. I have found that many times!
Beautiful job. It looks gorgeous!! Totally worth all the agro. Does your husband ever roll his eyes and wonder what is the latest mess his wife has got him into?😂. Mine used to and then set to to try and work it out!!
I'm sure he does!
Beautiful. Xx
I love it 🤗🤗🤗
That was quite a project Lisa!!! It turned out beautifully, be sure to tell your kiddos not to stand on the marble (you know how kids can be!) as it could crack. Your farmhouse is looking so pretty!
Can you please tell us how much is cost to get your marble cut ?
Honestly it has been a while since we did that so I really don't remember. I have learned over the years that things like this vary depending on where you live....your best bet is to find a local business that does this and check their pricing...
Wait, did the vanity come with the marble top? It wasn’t wooden?
Seems if someone is going to use old dresser for vanity a vessel sink is just the easier way to go. No cutting.
Its bar sink isnt it ? First thing I said when I saw the marble top was it was to thin...Glad it worked out for you. I dont really like marble they glutted the market with it for the last 20 yrs Im tired of looking at it hahah
Love it! Thanks for sharing! I’ve decided to try this route for our bathroom ☺️ I’m not seeing the link for the sink in the description though
Whoops! Forgot that. Adding it now!
