The crushed ice with juicy flavors is not called Raspados dude that is totally wrong, we Salvadoreans never use that term in El Salvador or anywhere,we call it MINUTAS, raspados might be a term other countries use like Puerto Rico,Dominican Republic,etc. We call it Minutas. But hey,nice channel.
the white flower you saw is flor de izote that is the name. that is the national flower.
Shaved ice drinks are called raspados in Mexico, in El Salvador they are called "minutas".

Our empanadas are made out of the ripe plantains, fried and stuffed with beans or custard , then covered in sugar like a churro!!!

In some parts of El Salvador "Chirimoya" is known as "anona"
I never heard someone say chirimoya here in El Salvador, anona all the time. Chirimoya is its standard Spanish name though.

Rockstar Eater yucca is the English word for izote. You are right ! I am Salvadoran and I grew them here in San Jose California and eat them

8:05 the bread with honey is actually called "zemita alta" in El Salvador because it is thick, then we have "zemita pacha" the thin and more sugary one. Marquesote looks similar but does not have honey on it at all, it's dry
8:39 we call rambutan "lichas" but they're also called "mamones peludos" like the "hairy" version of the green ones at 9:01
9:35 You said "curtido" (koor-tee-doh) as "gordito" (which means chubby) xD It was funny.

Izote's flowers are a little bit bitter. Here, in El Salvador they cook it with eggs, for breakfast ... I really don't like it, but it is my personal opinion 🙈🙉🙊😅 But when it comes about edible flowers I recommend you the Loroco, specially in pupusas, with cheese! Yummy!!! 😍

I haven’t been to that particular mercado, but everything i see in the video is authentic, I see they have all kinds of fresh green leaves and flowers that we eat as well.

Alot of people took stuff from LA to El Salvador like classic Mexican LA Hotdogs
Flying Nazgul, all those foods are el salvadorean traditional fast food dishes.
The ingredients, spices and method of cooking are very different from mexican
