Many of these newbie bands probably haven’t listened to a board recording of themselves. I wonder if that would change anything. I also know a few bands that video their shows and then take it and see what they can do to make it better.
Having to deal with the composition, tonal & client issues was the secondary reason I decided not to continue in the industry. I just didn't have the interpersonal skills or local mentorship connections or business skills to deal with it all. If I had a local JR things might have been different. Such is life - no regrets.
I have a topic for you to maybe discuss…. The end of life for a sound guy. We all know that it’s the two holes on the side of our heads that won’t last forever. “Exposure over time.” When is it time to say goodbye to the business?

Man I honestly think my back and knees will force me out of the business before I completely loose my hearing.
