As a big Depeche fan, instant buy for me. Depeche Mode used a Wave 2 mainly in the studio for the second album (‘A Broken Frame’, 1982) and onwards for a couple of years. Its unique and distinctive sounds are unmistakable on that record. The single ‘See You’ features the very recognisable choir sound, plus the bell riff and other parts, while that release’s B-side ‘Now This Is Fun’ also has Wave’s hallmark stamped all over it.
You play the keys with such joy! for real, its so cool someone play so evocatively in so many styles and of course with such enthusiasm. Already picked up some techniques! Great demo.

This is the first wavetable synth ever that I like the sound of. It has all the attributes that I love in synth. I'm sold on those warm pads. But the only space that I have left is for a module/desktop. Great demo :)

I have a DeepMind desktop, (and a deep mind), and it ranks right up there for quality and genius. I’ve wanted a PPG forever. I still own a Kawai K4-r, which has sorta kinda similar architecture, and was the only affordable PPG-ish synth in the early 90s. It’s capable of some quite unique and extraordinary sounds, and also some awful artifacts and quirks, but I love it. I thought I should stop acquiring synths, but … you know. Wave. Ooeee !

@ the control panel looks fine. Most people will appreciate, that it doesn’t take up too much space. All the Nord Leads also only have 4 octaves. Enlough for most situations. About voices; for 599,- you just buy two and have 16 voices😂

@SantiagoGT15 Walmart isn't a noble institution because they are able to sell their products for less. Remaking existing products reduces labor costs by relying on other companies to do their R&D, and rebuilding existing products means you have a much better idea of the demand, which reduces the risk of investing in a "new" product. All of this is sound business strategy, and while we consumers are not hurt by lower prices per se, companies relying on economies of scale like Walmart or Amazon have well known externalities, ie costs paid not by the company or its owners but by its workforce and the public at large. An example of this kind of externality would be the quality of life among poorly treated workers. All of this is, again, business as usual. Behringer isn't worse than inMusic because they reduce the price point of their products, but neither does selling a cheaper product make them a boon to society. It's just business doing normal business stuff: making as much money as possible for the investor class.
@@GeorgeLocke- their competition can’t be arsed to revisit their old designs in a lot of cases. Behringer give people what they want at prices that could easily be 20 or even 50% higher and still sell a lot of units. TD3-MO is £125 ffs, that’s stunning value for money. So any naively moral issue is neutralised.
He was soooo enthusiastic, he clearly has played an OG PPG Wave before so he's probably surprised over the similarities of the sounds. Fantastic demo video.

A very cunning choice of demonstration host here, Behringer. This man is going to be the main topic of conversation in all the B chat groups for the next decade. OTT, yes. Entertaining? In reasonable doses. Good at his job in the sense that he generates interest for the product? Absolutely. I'd much sooner watch this than a lot of vague teaser ads.

Wait a moment, I had a wave 2.2 mid 80's and know the synth very well. If you have a step recorder sequencer (the same in all other Behringer) than this is not an original Wave. With PPG Wave you had a realtime sequencer with count in click and you can quantize later on like a midi file. Soundwise: Close to the Original.
In the history of synthesizers, no one has ever demoed a synth so enthusiastically. I’d buy one of these just based on this dude

Sadly it doesn't sound like one , far to smooth for Ppg, the highs are rolled of at a much lower sample rate than the 367 kHz of the original Ppg2.3

Linn is just samples, there’s no hardware synthesis and no filtering. You can just drop the samples into anything.
The 3rd Wave is still better. Has more of pretty much everything, but this is still good enough for the price.
