    You are a natural teacher. I like your educational videos, especially since I have an anniversary edition of the 2023 Fatboy also. So far, I have a chrome oil cooler cover and a heel shifter add on. More to come. I only wish the front fender dropped down a bit lower in the back. Some of the cooling fins are flat already from small particles of sand, etc. I'm trying to find a "fender extender".

    • @OkieTwister66
      @OkieTwister66  Год назад +1

      Hey thanks for the comments. I really appreciate that very much! I have seen a sort of front spoiler that mounts to the frame over the oile cooler that provides so e protection for the fins. I think it is made by Kuryakan. Might be worth a look. Thanks again for the comment and for watching 🤙

    sweet bike! I have 2023 fatboy non-anniversary and I have exact same complaint about the seat. My tailbone is really sore after 30 to 45 minutes. I was considering modifying my seat to add gel pads creating a valley in the middle. From your video, your new seat looks like it has a depression in the middle to cradle that area. Anyway, would love to hear an update on your seat. And I actually think the new seat looks way nicer too. Also, in your video you say two things. (1) you feel higher on the bike and (2) more in the saddle. I love the down in the saddle type position. Perhaps you could shoot some video of yourself on the bike holding the handlebars. I'm a little taller, just under 6ft tall, and my legs are bent with feet flat on the ground so being a little higher might be ok. I wish there was a place you could go and just try things out. Anyway, love the video, very informative.

    • @OkieTwister66
      @OkieTwister66  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the comment, and congrats on your Fat Boy! I'll see if I can get some pics in an upcoming video. At your height, you should be just fine. I'm 5'7" with a 30" inseam on my Levi's. With the stock seat, I could easily flat foot the bike with a slightly bent knee. I think the Corbin sits about an inch taller but is also a smidgen wider. Avoiding the pipes, I can flat foot one foot with the other foot on the ball. It's fine, and I have gotten used to it. If my legs were an inch longer, I could flat foot both feet more comfortably. And yes, I sit more "in" the bike rather than "on" it like the stock one. I had a similar one on my Indian and loved it. It is firm, but the shape is what makes it comfortable. Too soft is not good on long rides I have found. Corbin is pricey, but to me, it was worth it. There may be other seats less expensive and also comfortable. I just went with my experience and have not regretted it. I hope you find something that works well for you! Thanks again for the comment and for watching 🤙

    I agree, it's not nearly as nice looking as the OEM seat. I know a few people who loved the OEM seat on their bike but didn't find it comfortable enough for longer rides. They got some gel inserts put in it by an upholsterer. They all say problem solved - and got to have their cake and eat it too. You can always give it a try since you kept the original seat - and it's a lot cheaper than buying an expensive new seat!

    • @OkieTwister66
      @OkieTwister66  4 месяца назад

      I thought about trying that but decided to go with the Corbin and keep the original unmolested. And besides, I don't know a good upholstery skilled to do the job

    Corbin has got some of the absolute WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE of any shop I’ve ever dealt with! Those girls that work there are about as useless as you can get. My Corbin solo seat on my 2014 Fatboy is hard as hell. Any more than 3 hours and my ass aches. It’s got 4,000 miles on it now and there is no “breaking it in”. The leather shows wear but that seat is still rock hard. Even if they made the most comfy seat on the planet…. I would never deal with this company again.

    • @OkieTwister66
      @OkieTwister66  5 месяцев назад

      Man, I really hate to hear this. I have had two Corbin seats and have always gotten good service from them. As for the seats' comfort, I could not be more pleased. No, they are not soft and cushy, but they are firm and provide much better support and even distribution of weight. The seats that I have replaced with Corbin were both awful after about 30 minutes. After an hour, they were unbearable. If I can get four hours of comfort, then that's a good thing in my book. I am happy with my choice.
      Corbin service... I think you are the second person who has mentioned a poor experience with them. That's not a good thing for any company, especially one who is considered to have a premium product and a price tag that reflects it. Every customer should be handled with care. Maybe it is a sign of the times. It seems service in every part of life has deteriorated these days. It seems people these days don't give a crap. Again,, I'm sad you had a bad experience... I totally get it. Thanks for the comment and for watching 🤙

    • @beri232
      @beri232 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@OkieTwister66 I think their service is dependant on whether the seat is ordered online or purchased at their shop. Seems that folks who go to their shop always leave happy. I live in Canada and I can tell you this, the minute your seat is paid for and leaves their shop…. the service stops!

    HD is not paying attention to what the customer base requires for comfort and safety. Seat is one example. Another is the lack of LED lights on current models (head light, tail light, turn signals). Also, lame sounding horns, bad breaks, and tube tires. Nostalgia only goes so far, and my checkbook says no!!!! I should have bought a sportster, but HD has bitched this model up as well. That tank emblem is atrocious and you are concerned with the seat ????? God, it's an ugly emblem, and cheap looking !!! You will never guess, but I like the older bikes !!!!!! I did enjoy your content and have just subscribed. We need you !!!!!

    • @OkieTwister66
      @OkieTwister66  Год назад +1

      I have to agree about HD not listening to customers on some things, especially the ones you mentioned. Follow the money and it will take you there. That's the world in which we live today. Although I understand the premise of wanting customers to spend more on upgrades, but there are a ton of aftermarket "upgrades" out there that HD will never see any money for. My seat is a good example. I had to go elsewhere for comfort. Thanks for the subscription, your comment, and for watching! I need good viewers like you to help keep me on point 👍
