Cars so technically the VW Group is bigger. How about photography and computers? Cameras are struggling against smartphones in sales and no Japanese brand in the top 5 best-selling computer brands. This isn’t the 80s anymore. Japan has been overtaken by US, Chinese, and Korean companies years ago.

"Richest" should be incorporating some measure of financial performance laid out against the revenues of the largest companies, while factoring in large liabilities (like the VW emissions scandal). This is just a sloppily cobbled list.

Toyota need to start making nice cars again on it's brand. I know it owns lot of other brands too but we need a new supra, celica and mr2 with good turbo engines. Toyota and Yamaha makes god engines like 2jz together. And i mean god not good.

I do not know where you have got your figures from but Daimler, Tesla and BMW should not be on that list and be replaced by PSA (Peugeot-Citroen-Opel) and also Suzuki. VAG is the top one. Nissan is owned by Renault at 43 % and should read Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi is now resached first place.
