Not impossible. If one takes to account that Jeff Bezos became a billionaire overnight, thanks to the sudden spike in Amazon's share price; and that Apple was getting run into the ground by the clever people who fired Steve Jobs, only to hire him again to save the company; and that Samsung was rather mediocre in the mobile phone industry, until they had their run-in with Apple and the S-series (which I believe, has a great part to play in their current standing in the tech top 10 listing)... it might happen, that some unknown (or known, but not highly regarded) company suddenly has an invention that propels it past Apple.

The USA own the majority of the patent for electronic technology. The majority of electronic gadget are manufactured in China. Nice to learn that only 7% of currencies are papers and coins.
