i was waiting from long long time to see tal and botvinnik from you mato.. thank you very much.. and i think much funs like me, waiting to other matches of tal and botvinnik..
The fact that Tal didn't even need to play any crazy sacrifices to beat the legend Botvinnik tells you how good he was. Sometimes simple chess is the best chess.
Max Payne Obviously you have not seen many Tal games. Tal will risk it against anyone if he feels like it is the right decision. Tal was a fearless player, it didn't matter whether it was Botvinnik or someone else.
Sahm A No... I have watched his games, and even though it sounds very cool to say that Tal war "fearless" let me tell you that sacrifices are just another tactic which allows you to even gain material back in the long run, when properly executed. Many times that proper execution relies on your oponnent making mistakes while defending the very complicated positions that can be created after a piece sacrifice. Those mistakes are usual because as I said finding the correct move in those positions can be very difficult. However, if the defender plays his cards well, he will probably come up on top. So Tal didn't sacrifice because he saw no clear sacrifice in this game (because Botvinnik is an excellent player and doesn't have such exploitable weaknesses on his structure) or because he knew that if he was not going to be able to be at a material advantage vs Botvinnik himself, maybe it was not worth it. Just my thoughts on the matter.
mato thank you for posting this vid.. botvinik and tal are my 2 favorite chess players.. because i feel my chess style is like botviniks and i wish my chess style was like tal's lol
Thanks so much Mato! It is interesting to see how the past generation champions were so much risk takers than todays! even in the final games! It does look like a fun blitz game! Anand-Carlsen games looks too conservative to me compare to this!
Botvinnik doesn't seem to be mentioned much among the greats by chess fans on youtube videos these days, but was an important champion as well as leader of the system
mato, do you have any videos where tal loses? haha. dont get me wrong , i love tal and enjoy watching his unpredictability, but it would be nice to see some of his games where he loses because of..whatever factors came into play.. got anything?
+insolentMinx47 He lost quite a few against Botvinnik, I think maybe he was nervous about playing his extreme sacrifice tactics against such a defensive player
Botvinnik may be the most important figure in 20th century chess considering his lynchpin status between the Capablanca's, through Tal, and finally as the founder of the school that provided both Karpov and Kasparov for the 80s WCC.
Liam Cooper also botvinnik saw the potential of computers in chess and helped pioneer it. The field Computer science owes at least something to Botvinnik too
It took quite a number of games for Botvinnik to figure out how to play against Tal. Eventually Botvinnik learned that closed positions or quiet positions without many tactics were the right approach.
In a way that seems kind of obvious, but on the other hand playing wild tactical positions against Petrosian (which is kind of the same thing but reversed) doesn't work at all, because Petrosian is extremely good at calculating tactics and even more difficult to defeat in those positions (even though he dislikes them), according to Spassky.
yep, Spassky said "above all else, Petrosian is a superb tactician". Tal was a heck of a tactician too but Korchnoi handled him very well, even in open positions.
Only official tournament or match games have been taken into account. '+' corresponds to Tal's wins, '−' to his losses and '=' to draws. Kostandin Artp where did u get these records? are they accurate? it seems unbelievable that Tal would suffer 11 losses against korchnoi, 8 losses against Keres, 8 losses and only 2 wins against polugevsky and zero wins against Stein?
In his first match against Botvinnik, Tal was much stronger than Botivinnik. I like especially the 6th game of their match. Pretty good ! i wish Mato could comment this great game...
mato got me addicted to Tal and now I can't watch anybody else. ...
+Pasha Pasovski Max Lange is also another exciting guy.
Watch Rashid Nezhmetdinov. He's Tal x 10
+Akbar love Rashid
Try Keres, Rashid and Botvinnik
Pasha Pasovski .😂 Me too
what a great way to continue w Botvinnik. This is good video making - suspense, drama, and a reason to watch every day.
I want Mato to say:
"Tal sacrificed a piece...and his opponent resigned."
Long live the memory of tal,and his chess games too.
Tal is my favourite player!
i was waiting from long long time to see tal and botvinnik from you mato.. thank you very much.. and i think much funs like me, waiting to other matches of tal and botvinnik..
good to see another tal game. hoping to see more in future
I enjoy the history you provide as much as the analysis itself. You have renewed my interest in chess. Thank you.
The fact that Tal didn't even need to play any crazy sacrifices to beat the legend Botvinnik tells you how good he was. Sometimes simple chess is the best chess.
Well he wasn´t gonna risk it against someone of botvinnik´s caliber.
Max Payne Obviously you have not seen many Tal games. Tal will risk it against anyone if he feels like it is the right decision. Tal was a fearless player, it didn't matter whether it was Botvinnik or someone else.

Max Payne Yeah cool stuff, I got what you meant :)
+Sahm A The 11th game in 1960 is a great example of Tal systematically outplaying MB in a relatively quiet strategic contest.
Thanks for the upload mato. You are very considerate of viewer requests :)
mato thank you for posting this vid.. botvinik and tal are my 2 favorite chess players.. because i feel my chess style is like botviniks and i wish my chess style was like tal's lol
Awesome!!! I actually have this book, Tal offers great commentary as to his thinking and reasoning behind using certain openings
Mindblowing game and too complicated ... thanks for posting ... brain hurts ...
Tal played a move, and Botvinnik resigned. One sentence, so legendary. Good job!
Thank you Mato !!!
Posle onoliko odgledanih Botvinikovih partija i odgledane ove partije, postaje mi jasnije kakav je sahista bio Talj sa svoje 23 godine zivota.
I love Tal games! Other games Tal vs Botvinnik please Mato!
Terrific game, Thanks Mato!!
Thanks so much Mato! It is interesting to see how the past generation champions were so much risk takers than todays! even in the final games! It does look like a fun blitz game! Anand-Carlsen games looks too conservative to me compare to this!
just amazing.... thankyou
Nice game. Most of the games of the world championship match 1960 are interesting.
More Tal! Come on Mato, show us some other games from that match?
I love when Count Dracula talks chess
Botvinnik doesn't seem to be mentioned much among the greats by chess fans on youtube videos these days, but was an important champion as well as leader of the system
Botvinnik vs Fischer please MATO and finish all the 21 games if possible.
I downloaded this Thank you
"And botvinnik resigned" I think first time I ever heard this.
Like a meteor; Tal suddenly lite up the Chess world.
mato, do you have any videos where tal loses? haha. dont get me wrong , i love tal and enjoy watching his unpredictability, but it would be nice to see some of his games where he loses because of..whatever factors came into play.. got anything?
You have not subscribed, have you?
i did yesterday, yes. also, it was no ordinary subscription, it was in fact a MONSTER subscription worth 6 points instead of 3.
I subscribed a while ago, it was worth 69 points, haha.
+insolentMinx47 check for Nezhmetdinov games with tal
he won 2 amazing games
+insolentMinx47 He lost quite a few against Botvinnik, I think maybe he was nervous about playing his extreme sacrifice tactics against such a defensive player
Great game ..Tal is the best in my books
Botvinnik may be the most important figure in 20th century chess considering his lynchpin status between the Capablanca's, through Tal, and finally as the founder of the school that provided both Karpov and Kasparov for the 80s WCC.

Kasparov doesn't think so about Botvinnik because he used the another champions against Tal and in all his championships.
After Pawn to h4 2:49, knight cxd4 looks really good for black. Maybe I'm missing something though
The French Defence is impressively rich. What a great way to get a world championship match underway!
Well, I told you guys MATO has left the good ones for the last.
Who do you think would win between Morphy vs Tal if that ever happened? ;)
at 2:43 after h4, black could have played Ne7, giving himself room to castle. or am I missing something?
Tal was incredible ❤
Open & Exciting!
It took quite a number of games for Botvinnik to figure out how to play against Tal. Eventually Botvinnik learned that closed positions or quiet positions without many tactics were the right approach.

I like when he says... And on this move, the black resigned.
Talminator defeated Fischer and Botvinnik wow :)
what is the last move? queen check can be blocked with bishop

Tal the master magician strikes again.
3:44 why didn't tal play rxn e5? if nxr e5 queen takes queen
MAtooo, Tal games..... thx sir :D
This game created a slightly dizzying effect on me. Just how good are these players.(rhetorical question)
Mato the Magnificent.
Hi Mato, could you please make videos of matches between Tal vs Petrosian ? If I'm not mistaken Tal had minus head to head record against Petrosian.
I think he had at least one video where Tal plays Petrosian. If I recall it was a very good match
Hung Do
I think it would be interesting to see the games between the greatest attacker (Tal) vs the greatest defender (Petrosian).

From Wikipedia dear friend ! :) - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikhail_Tal
best commentator ever
Why would white play g4 at 5:35?
in 3:44 why didn't tal take the knight with rook. rook e3 taking knight on e5
I would like to see a collection of Paul Morphy games...smile
3:40 why not Black Rook G8 to H8, attacking/possibly winning Queen??
The rook then would capture the knight and give check, and if knight takes rook, black would possibly lose more than one piece. Thats what i think
Bg5h6 saves
Allen Barry the bishop is there to prevent castling.
Wait why not at 3: tal didn't capture the knight with his rook as the onether knight won't be able to cupture the rook as its pinned
Happy to see Botvinik lose this match, he win every game
In his first match against Botvinnik, Tal was much stronger than Botivinnik. I like especially the 6th game of their match. Pretty good ! i wish Mato could comment this great game...
спасибо за втдео
Somehow, games where Tal wins are more exciting than games where Botvinnik wins.
There was this one hilarious game where someone resigned right after having made a move. "White played a move and then resigned." ^^
Oh. Hilarious.
Mania versus Order.
Crazy game
I'd like to see just one game where Tal loses. It would be interesting to see what it takes to do that.
Tal played a move and someone resigned ......always happens 😃
Tal vs me
Tal: play e4
me: resigned
Mahmoud Hachem Hilarious...
Tal had to have a serious advantage in a helter-skelter game like this. Not Botvinnik's type of game.
At the age 23...
WOWWW !!!
Hello Mato
This video must be called:Tal vs The Rest of Soviets.
Tal makes it look so easy =).
Mikhail Tal's style of chess can be very persistent but it can also be very complex. too bad he was a heavy addict to cigarettes
Таль ГЕНИЙ!
привет
I cant watch this it looks like Homer vs Peter Griffin
The another soviets against Tal.
Mikhail Tall+Mikhail Botvinnik=Tallboot
I believe if tal was healthy he would’ve beaten botvinnik in the rematch.
I cant find a game where Tal loses :))
Botvinnik lost...o.O
and black ressiighhhhhneddd!!!!
Tal rulez! yeah!
Tal healthy was much better than Botvinnik.
1st!
Why can't world champiomships these days be like this..? specially woth carlsen and karjakin, its boring ass draw games
Carlsen will by in the future probably the best chess player ever, so you can trust to his chess oppinions :-)
