Alvaro Velazquez samus is pretty typical of an American (I am from the US well unfortunately). he smokes massive amounts of thc so anyone with an accent is automatically funny and an easy target. marthyn on the other hand is chill and calculated , and I don't know where he hails from but I'm positive it's somewhere in Europe. my guess is Greece but that just shows 5he difference in culture I guess. and samus did say marthyn is a supirior drummer who plays stuff he wouldn't even attempt.

Hello, 1st of all I'd like to say that for me it's always awesome to see someone reacting/evaluating their own performance and see the mistakes & goods/cons, it takes a lot of time and also it demonstrates the humble personality to persue higher goals and progression.
Then I'd like too say that even though I'm a pianist/keyboard player, I also play drums (progressive metal and some more extreme) , and You're an awesome inspiration and resource for community. And why? You're very clear , directed towards the purpose. And you explain things in a easy way. Thanks a lot for Your dedication and share.

    Hi Marthyn great video!
It help me a lot to understand my foot technique when you were talking about yours, I'm also playing with calves for slow tempo, but I need to fix this technique because it works just 50% of times for me, my max tempo is at 150-155 bpm and 50% of time I can't play at more than 130 bpm...
So my question is: when you are using calves at 120 bpm for example, are you first pushing the pedal board with the action of calve and so your leg rise after this, or with calves you raise your heel and when your heel fall it make the stokes happen?
I suppose the best technique is the first but I want to be sure :)

Even though you pointed out several things you did poorly and corrected them afterwards, still great work Marthyn. Could we see a tribute to the late great Vinnie Paul performing F'ing Hostile?

Where did you find this character? haha;) nice video and as with most people, I find it easy to find my own flaws when doing a self assessment.
