Excellent video, cheers pal. I recently picked up a bunch of the 34 and 55mm fibre cups and am in the process of putting together a light target load and a couple of possible game loads. Nice work fella
Great video - I like the way you go through the process in step by step. I have been using the fiber cups and sealers from Clay&Game. My load is 32g steel shot #4 and 40gn A. Steel powder. I don't have a suitable chronograph. Hence I don't know the velocity. Patterns are looking fine and no signs of overpressure. I slit my cups in 3 petals - also angled approx. 45 deg rather than 90. My cut is somewhat deeper as I cut down to 5mm off the bottom of the cup. This approach was recommended by the dealer.
I saw you comment on another video saying how it was hard to get the fiber cups shipped to you from clay&game becuase of where you live. How did you end up getting your hands on some of them?
Late to the game, but I will say, those Fibre shot cups are interesting. Any idea if those are available in the U.S? Steel shot is mandatory here and the fact that they hold up is impressive. Thanks for the informative video
My advice would be to enquire with BPI to see if they will start importing them. Clay & Game reloading does not ship internationally but I know that they have a relationship with BPI
Interesting video - I've been curious about how feasible it would be to make heavy steel loads with a biodegradable wad. I note that on the clay and game website though it says that these cups are only for use with steel up to 3.25mm (shot size 4). It clearly works fine with larger shot sizes as you've demonstrated, but I'm curious as to why they've said it at all?
do you have any suggestions for using 3inch hulls for steel BB Great video can you do some more on shotshell reloading. as there is very little on it on the UK side. lots for US and components available to them but not alot for UK
Great idea, I don't hunt but want to try loading steel buckshot. If they come up with data for 2.75 through 3.5in 12 ga and they have wads for steel buck I'm in.
I have a load that uses them. Their performance can be described as not great, not terrible. Most plaswads will outperform them, and they don't offer the same protection that a plaswad does.
I love the Idea of protecting the environment, unfortunately that company that you mentioned nly ship within UK, and I live in Canada, Does anyone know a compan that makes those fiber wads in north america???????
Be best option i think would contact balistic products and ask them that it would be somthing you would be interested in stocking. When there is enough demand they will carry them. With the worldwide push towards ending single use plastics i think hunters would willingly transition to non plastic alternatived
Great great video. If you remove that over shot card probably you'll get even better patterns. Great Scotland! I used to live in Glasgow. Cheers from Canada. 👍👍👍👍
If it wasn't so expensive already to try and reload let alone find the component s. I definitely go to paperwad if it gave me good or as same performance we already get tax per box and then have to do a background check for each box so as much as I'm with you I can't say I'm full-hearted

Do you crimp or roll the cartridge ? Thanks Stephen Claygame Stephen Dales- Steel Shot Co Ltd
@@wildernesseducation Im very new to reloading. but doing the maths in load height . the 45mm fibre cup will take 36grams of Steel BB wit No 20g 3mm cork spacer. but a2 mill 12 g space on top of the nitro card will make the same total height from bottom of nitro card to top of fibre cup. just need to sus our powder charge and powder height
@@rogerm1cdq407 The 45 mm cups will take 38 grams of BB or 39 grams of 3 shot. Don't waste your time sticking the cork spacer in the bottom, it achieves nothing and just wastes valuable payload space.
As someone who is just getting into wildfowling and wants to reload at home this is ace info

given the long shot string is there a reason you don't roll crimp your ammo as opposed to a star crimp Thanks

1450 FPS with 1-3/8 oz steel with Steel powder? I'd be curious what your load is? Highest velocity BPI has for that payload is 1400 with 40 grains...
Wonder if this would work with 1s
