  • Dr. Anthony Lombardo of Eye Surgeons of Indiana discusses the ICL: Implantable Collamer Lens.
    Eye Surgeons of Indiana provides the latest in premium technology to serve all of our patients’ vision correction needs with the best possible outcomes.
    We offer the next generation in advanced vision correction with the Visian ICL (implantable collamer lens).
    With a 20-year legacy of success, more than 1,000,000 Visian ICLs have been implanted in patients worldwide. The Visian ICL is a microscopically thin, soft lens implanted in the eye to permanently correct moderate or severe nearsightedness and astigmatism.
    In fact, based upon the clinical trials 99% of patients were satisfied with their new found Visian ICL vision.
    The Visian ICL is made of an advanced soft-material composed of 100% biocompatible collagen copolymer. It provides UV protection and permanent vision correction, while giving patients a quality of vision that is sharper, clearer than many can achieve with glasses or contacts.
    Additionally, unlike LASIK, the Visian ICL is removable, if necessary, and the procedure does not permanently alter the shape of your cornea.

      Should be okay. I don’t think it puts the eye at any more risk than without an ICL.

      @Poffdwudd30 2 года назад

      Usually you’ll be given a sedative that’s either oral or through an iv. From what I understand they can’t completely sedate you because your eyes will roll back. Your eye will be numbed as well from numbing drops

    I’ve had my ICL surgery the 23rd of July. After surgery I started experiencing double vision (I can see texts on my screen up to 4 times). After a week I started seeing rainbows under white street lights. No halo’s just a big streak of multiple colors red/ green/ blue under every source of white light. They tested my IOP, which was fine 17 in both eyes. And told me it was normal to experience anything like this and is possible due to the ICL. I’m worried and I don’t think it is normal, what should I do?

    2 days post op on right eye. You mention patients can usually see very well right after surgery. Is there concern if this is not the case? My vision has improved some, but still blurry/cloudy. My surgeon saw me the day after and didn't seem concerned, but everything I've researched mentions almost immediate vision correction. I was at 20/50 the day after surgery. I don't feel there has been much improvement since. I have another follow up the day before my left eye is scheduled (3 days from now).

    I had my Visian ICL Toric surgery 2018. In Serbia, Belgrade. I am very happy with the result. I had high diopters, myopia and astigmatism. I have a question. What happens with that ICL lens if cataracts occur over time? Does he stays in the eye after natural lens is going out or we need some kind of new lenses? Thank you! Sorry for my english...🙂

    • @eyesurgeonsofindiana6198
      @eyesurgeonsofindiana6198  3 года назад +5

      Your English is very good. We have an active ICL practice and welcome your question.
      Cataracts can occur in those with ICLs just like they would in those without ICLs. When patients who have ICLs implanted need cataract surgery, both the ICL as well as the cataract are removed, and a new lens is put in place. This allows good vision.
