Hey Everyone ! Just wanted to inform you that the ' site ' ( flipkart ) from which bought this product stated that it was an SCR based Controller but when i did some research , it turned out to be a TRIAC which i expected too but the sellers got me confused..... Although, there is not much of a difference between an SCR & a TRIAC except for the fact that an SCR allows the flow of current only in one direction but a triac allows it in both the directions. Hope it helps and appologies for the confusion. Best Regards, Mr. Electron
Thanks for the video. Could you please also share the power efficiency for this regulator? I am particularly interested to understand the power loss better input and output when it is operational. Also, does it output pure sin wave AC output?
@@pradipdas1977 No, it's not "pure sin wave AC output" because this device is JUST a command in the triac phase. So far away from that is real Motor Speed Controller. It's identical with those component from portable drilling machines.

Mr. Electron Sir, can I use this controller, the input is AC 220v and the output is connected to a step-down transformer input AC 110volts and output 40volts, 8 Amperes? thanks

Would that controller run on teslas plasma energy? By running ac sine wave thru a spark gap you get ac direct. Running ac direct thru a vacuum tube spark gap you get teslas plasma energy. That has the capability to run a drum motor at 3,000 rpm with less than 2amps. According to Gerard Morins work, at 9,000 rpm you can power a 3.5 kw transformer with a edrum motor at 9,000 rpms. He couldn't get a controller to turn it that fast when he seemed to go missing 6-7 years ago.

Neither. A triac controls how much of each ac half cycle current can flow. If the unit is on full power it conducts for the whole of each half cycle. If it is halfway it conducts for half of each half cycle. If it is on minimum it only conducts for the last little bits.
Upward of that 12K rpm range and below 30K with a big fan/cutter wheel/impeller/propeller will make it sound like the grinder, high rpm’s with no weight sound sharp like the red sewing machine That’s what I was trying to figure out before, as I love these high speed motors in things, but I like that lower pitch And this is a 15-25K rpm brushed series wound universal AC/DC for anyone lost and/or confused like I was, there are a million specs and rpm/torque variants but they’re all the same “Type” of motor
