  • Yamaha Tracer 9 GT review: We give the ABR Verdict to the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT after a year of living with the bike as part of the Adventure Bike Rider long-term fleet. During that time, we explored Wales on the sports tourer, went in search of Britain's tastiest beef, and commuted through the winter months.
In this ABR Verdict, James reveals how the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT performed as a commuter bike, a weekend touring bike, a continental road tourer, and off-roader, and as a pillion carrier. He also takes a look at its around-the-world trip credentials and ponders whether the Yamaha Tenere 700 would be a better choice.
In his Yamaha Tracer 900 GT review, James discusses whether the motorcycle is the best value sports tourer around. At £12,202, you certainly get a lot of bang for your buck including, KYB semi-active suspension, rider modes, cornering lights, heated grips, cruise control, and more.
Find out how the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT performed in this ABR Verdict. And if you'd like to see Yamaha's full line up of bikes, including the Yamaha Tenere 700 and the Tenere 700 World Raid, get your tickets to the 2022 Adventure Bike Rider Festival, on the 24-26 June, at the magnificent Ragley Hall Estate, in Warwickshire.

Can i ask how this compares to the Triumph 900 GT Pro? Does the triumph feel less powerful and which would you choose?

Nice review, you really like the bike... I don't know about long distance touring... If you are 6f or taller weather protection is not that great. Same with the position of the legs-knees due to the position of foot pegs. And standard seat is not that great either.
Its like fast cool looking sport Tourer... like Yamaha called it, it says it all.
    👍🏻

Yet another expensive overcomplicated load of plastic rubbish , all that money to watch depreciating almost as fast as the salty winter roads dissolve it ! All this could be accomplished on 2000 quids worth of TDM 900 with exactly the same result.
    Good review though mate 👍

Had mine for a year. Obviously the Redline is a bit faster than the Icon performance. I have put 7k miles on it including eurotrips etc. sold an R1200GSA for this, no regrets.
Agreed with your review, only the fuel range i have consistently gotten 220 miles to the tank before sticking in another 3 L

A US$13000 900cc tenere could be a real Africa Twin contender with just traction control, cruise control, 6 Gals, abs off option and adustable suspension. The triple engine is amazing!

    • @douglasalexander4348
      @douglasalexander4348 2 года назад +4

@mickrick. Sx is great. Main differences are ergo’s. Tracer more upright with longer leg stretch. Sx is more old school, leaning more forward and legs tucked up. Tracer feels lighter in the hands round the lanes especially, sx likes a more open sweeping road to make use of its power. You have to ride them both to see what suits YOU, because your the one who’s going to be riding it and we’re all different.

Because of ur review I went out and bought a 2022 tracer gt
500 miles later it was traded with another bike
    Comfort!?? Where
The seat is hard and pushing u to the tank...failed
The suspension if u live in or around a city is simply garbage very stiff suspension in A2 mode that jolts through ur back on every God damaged bump, I can't imagine A1 setup
The engine is Smoot and sounds good absolutely but...it jerks around town in slow speeds and off and on throttle is very snatching
Wind noise and buffet don't even get me started on that...big fail here
All in all don't advertise a touring bike cuz u added a bad windshield and cruise control
