Roof rack looks awesome 👏🏻 thanks for the info. Looking forward to seeing those windows tinted and the nashfabco ladder would be a good option. But yeah ladder is just for looks, more mounting options and maybe if you had a rooftop tent.

Hey, how are you. I’m looking at a 2007 gx470 with 240k miles in good shape no rust the guy wants 8,500 he won’t go lower but he said he does not know when the timing belt or water pump were done last should I pass on it ?

Hey Mohammed, thanks for the compliment. I haven’t had any issues to be honest. Plenty of room in the wheel well for them and I know people are running slightly larger tires with no issues either

Hey Charles, fellow Bergen county guy, great to hear that. Thanks for asking. Go check out two of my videos if you haven’t already. One that talks about how to find your service history on any Lexus and the other about main things to look for when purchasing a Lexus. While these cars are very reliable, the more service history you can find the better. So I looked up dozens of Lexus on the their website and looked for ones that had excellent service history. I then eliminated all whites GX’s as they have been know to have a paint issue from the factory where the paint peels away. Finally I looked for 07 and up as they have a few improvements. When it comes to price, just look on Autotrader and see what’s out there and looks good. Only way you can really go about that. Tough market now ofcourse. You will find cheaper options on fb marketplace than a dealer, but less options available. That’s where I got mine, but I did look at one at Lexus of Ramsey, just couldn’t agree on price.
It does make more noise than before when you have the sunroof open. You don't hear any difference if the sunroof is closed. I'm hoping when I install the light bar, the noise will be reduced.
With these T-channel crossbar racks you can buy slot fillers. I mounted a prinsu on my 2018 tacoma and the noise was unbearable. So I bought a bunch of t slot filler strips and filled all the forward facing, bottom and many of the top slots i knew i'd never use. this cut down wind noise a lot.
It's something I looked into and want, but my god they are super expensive. By me in Jersey there are no rocks to worry about when going off-roading, so it would be more for aesthetics. So it's a hard nut to spend $700+ on something like that when it would be more for aesthetic purposes and that's it.

@@uknowhim21 thanks. i keep hearing about timing belt and water pump for the gx470. Should those be replaced at 100k?
@@charlesben9104 I believe approximately 80k miles is the recommendation. I’m actually do for mine as I just crossed 160k.

Good video on this for sure. But why bother? What is this doing for you that the factory roof rack and rails didn't?
