Even More Quest Upgrades Are Coming! Discord For Quest, Delays & Tons More!

- After a little bit of a slower week, I am once again back for you guys with the latest in VR & AR news. First of all, we will jump right back into the v66 PPTC on Querst to talk about some of the features and new updates hiding within the software. After this, we will jump into the fact that Meta would actually really like a Discord integration on Quest as well as the new Lakeside Peak home environment finally showing up for people on Quest. We also have a new update to the RUclips app on Quest that allows for immersive playback inside AR. Microsoft has also announced an upgrade to their partnership with Meta and is adding Windows Volumetric apps to the mix. Finally, we will talk about the fact that the Meta LG Quest Pro 2 might be delayed as the 2 companies don't seem to be getting along very well. I hope you enjoy this video :D

Plot Twist: Rayray actually works at Discord, in a key staff position. That is an actual person, and Meta is hoping their cousin, whom Meta knows has a Quest, will convince them to get Discord onto the Quest.

Lakeside environment pulled because of issues. woke up to see a post from Luna and yep, it's gone from headset and comments on my reddit vdeo show it's gone for almost everyone else.
I have been using the mixed reality youtube for a month or two now. I assumed it always had it because why would it not, it works so well and its the only way i like to watch it.
Those Volumetric Apps are intriguing.

Nice video I tried using Travel mode in my car today on the Quest 3 and it worked so well! it wasn't really that bumpy and hand tracking and tracking worked like a piece of cake I even played Beat Saber in my car with travel mode today!

@@Kameron3120 I know I used pass through and watched some RUclips. Also when I played Beat Saber I just did a easy song and I bearly moved my arms but it was pretty nice I got some recordings of it so I might post it on my RUclips channel

Thank god, I've been waiting for this since I got Quest 2 in January 2022.
Love the updates. Hope, one day I can play without needing the controllers. My right-hand controller just started to suck again and probably I need to replace the little joystick (again). That's one of the few issues I have had with all of my Quests.
I’m actually very excited about wrist buttons. If we had options for knuckle buttons too, that would be amazing

I had Lakeside Peak a few days ago, but now it's gone.
It was cool but not something that couldn't be done in less than a day, so idk why it took so long or had so much anticipation.
I installed the Discord APK on Quest 2 via Sidequest a few years ago. It's been great to have but I hope an easy install path comes online.
Quest craft is now available on the quest 3
i forced the update and got everything and a new forest environment but it dissapeared. did i lose the environment because im not in ptc or should i try to sideload update again?
Any updates on when we might see the so called "Augments" appear in the Quest 3? I'd love to customize the appearance of my home with things that aren't here yet!

the ai technology I'm hanging out for is live translation in game, so things like english only areas will be eliminated with no one being able to tell what language anyone is speaking, since they hear it all in their own language. (also see: babel fish, war)
i have v66 the hand tracking and controller thing was working, but now its stopped, i put 1 controller down and just that hand went into hand tracking mode, so controller in 1 hand and hand tracking with other, it was working, but now it doesnt work, and even when i put both controllers down, it takes ages for hand tracking to start working....

I’m surprised he never spoke about background audio finally being on the quest 2 and the quest 3 who don’t know if you wanted to listen to music for a long in the background, you would have to use an app called oculess but now they’ve finally integrated it officially in the background and as someone who has downloaded all of their songs on their computer and directly imported all of them into the music folder on my headset I can natively use VLC media player and actually listen to my music in the background and not having to worry about anything screwing up anymore which I am extremely happy about

As long as the lg headset can handle more what the quest 2 and 3 can on VrChat i would consider it or any standalone vr headset
For example able to handle trackers without a pc and supporting it too and better graphics too and fps and able to cool itself better

Hey been watching you for a while maybe you can put this out on your platform so that meta can think about it they have the switch to turn the motion off now so if they write a program to show Google maps directions on your headset that would be awesome like a direction pointer or the maps just to combined app
I hope they can disable the pinch to tap with hand tracking and make it point with one hand and tap wrist button with other hand to press because I am so tired of having to keep a controller with me and on when doing dishes or cooking
Need a way to download custom home environments without side loading or pc
I've always wondered how in these "leak videos" there are no white hands outlines showing up. How can I do that on my quest 3? it fucks my eyes up having to focus on both the outlines and the real hands at the same time to know where everything is while in passthrough mode I can't even do anything in the real world requiring my functioning hands outside of MR.
If the Pro 2 is delayed until 2027, I might have to bite the bullet and get the Quest 3 in the interim (hopefully a summer break sale of some sort?). I wonder if, considering the delay, it will be based on the Quest 4. I mean, 2027 is 3 years away, that's a good ballpark for a Quest 4 to come out, with a Pro 2 based on it.
Regardless, I'm looking forward to the Google-Samsung-Snapdragon partnership. Hoping for something with AVP fidelity and eye tracking, but without the Eye-Vision and 'heavier than it needs to be' bulk, alongside a somewhat more reasonable ~$2000 price range.

v66 is broken. Ever since getting it both mine, and my friends headsets keep turning off during use. You just turn it back on, then a few minutes later it turns off again.
Hi Mystical, on the whole I enjoy you vr news vids. One thing I can't understand, and its not just you, is why content makers show clips which has nothing to do with the subject your talking about, it's off putting for me personally. I'm quite happy just watching you

Discord doesn't need Google Play Services, i'm using it for some time on my quest 3 and it works perfectly fine (except screensharing), even modded clients like aliucord work.

Downloaded Lakeside Peak environment about an hour ago then went back to use it again. It had completely disappeared no trace of it whatsoever. I haven’t got a clue what’s going on there. It’s not even in the list of environments. Anyone else had the same problem

In one other thing when are they going to wake up Make agreements with whoever they got to make it with so you can have your phone when you're inside your headset because the most annoying thing is having a reply to text messages and everything else either having to remove your headset or trying to look at it through the headset which is getting better since they open up mixed reality and did the updates I've noticed cleaner site to my phone without having the Lord my brightness level but it would still be a thousand times better just having your phone inside

So when is quest 3 or should I say meta going to make all their apps apps VR pass-through I hate being in the bubble on Netflix and Amazon and all the other apps that don't allow you to do pastor it just makes too much sense people like to walk around and still be in that app without bumping in the stuff😂 Hope you can mention it on your channel maybe they'll know that's what the people want have a good one keep doing what you're doing....

if discord doss come into the quest then i’ll be vary pleased by that. right now i can only access it via browser, which is not ideal in terms of performance. i would be happy to see discord in the store one day.

i’m not entirely sure how to do that. my PC is not even compatible of running VR. the only side loading i did was an update.
