Your views are commonly held by Jamaicans at home and abroad. The more I speak to Jamaicans the more I realise that they do very little research. Personally I love research, data and trying to make sense of it all. Speaking to Jamaicans living in Jamaica provides a limited view. The vast majority of my understanding comes from my own research. Whilst I appreciate there are a vast array of issues affecting Jamaica I am quite positive about the future. If things continue the way they have been for the last few years I expect you’ll be pleasantly surprised in the next few years
That might be a human affliction not unique to black people. We seem to work better together after we have achieved individual success instead of building it from scratch together. People seldom believe in our vision until we bring it into fruition. That's when they become all excited to work with us because now we have proof that it could happen. Experience has taught me that the majority of our friends and family will not support us in our endeavours, especially the ones closest to us.
Even your own family members will rip you off when they know you’re from abroad. I think a lack of information in the Black community help to contribute to mistrust in each other.

When I was growing up I heard a saying, "They are like crabs in a barrel."
