Sounds like a traveling in a desert caravan, and dancing around desert campfire with a melancholy..feel....... long live ..eternal score..
Nothing wrong about it, cuz song actually has middle eastern origins. That's exactly the feelings and pictures it should bring to our imagination, since we used to such type of melodies used in kind of movies by hollywood etc...
Has there ever been a song so popular for so long in so many cultures, countries, and musical styles?
???
@@patrickryan1515 ?
I mean music traditions exist all over the world so yes. "So long" doesn't make sense, Misrlu wasn't popularized in the west until Dick Dale in the 60s. How is that so long? Any song from a musical traditional from around the world could catch the attention of the mainstream under the right circumstances
Good to dance to also!
@@sunkintree The world is bigger than the US - it has been popular in the Arabic world since the 20's .
An excellent rendition, and I have heard many! Congratulations to the band members! "Misirlou" means "Egyptian Girl" in slang Greek, ( I believe the original song was a 1927 Greek one). Misiri is another word for Egypt in Greek, comes from the Arabic Misr, and Misr Bent in arabic means egyptian girl.
I agree with you.
After the greek original this is the best rendition i have ever heard all my life.
Iam impressed.
I can't stop listening to this version of a song since I've discovered it... Amazing band, Amazing cover!
I love Greek rebetiko song Misirlou from 1926.
Que maravilhosa sinergia entre musiquers
It's great to hear this song lasting all these years. Beautifully played!
IT IS A MASTERPIECE! 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Stupendamente stupendi....questa é musica di Dio.....❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Excellent musicians, and a wonderful arrangement! This makes me happy:)
A thousand thumbs up for this one. It's enchanting!
Dear All, This is a Greek song the title of which is MISIRLOU meaning "Egyptian girl",, written by a Greek person who loved this girl when in Egypte there was living in Alexandria a big Greek community which left Egypte in the decade of 1950 because of political events at that moment. It is not a surprise that the Greeks can write such beautiful songs because they have invented MUSIC 3000 years ago. The writer and composer is Nikos REPANIS who was in love with an Egyptian girl
It's a folk song. The first recorded version is from 1927 but the song is much older than that.
@@ondrejhanslik9368like since when if you know if you do not don't just make assumptions based on your ideology
It's an old Egyptian song. The Greek composer used it as a tribute to the Egyptian girl. Anyway Greek communities existed in Egypt for thousands of years. So there.
The first fifteen seconds sets the tone to this beauty ! Well done ! I have heard this about 20 times already, and can't stop.
As one who still buys CDs, I gotta get this band in my collection!!

Very nice !
i heard this song before i was born---ahhh misirlou, you oceans' daughter.
i've been looking far for you. Can i call you my love, as Christine
Dae. i wait for the day to be with you. While i sing and dream, you
dance and speak of truths. i breathe in your words and ask you to sing,
my angel. Far off one, so you are the daughter of sand? Will you ever
come to me? Even in my dreams of day. i would be forever soothed.
thrilling music
BEST !!!
Wow ❤️
Good. Poliphonic. Yiddish.Love you!
Witam. Słychać latino włoskie, a szczególnie Półwysep Iberyski. No i nutka z Polski ( Polish Music Ethno ).
👏 Bravo
@@williamfrederick9670 It's Greek, "συγχαρητήρια" (syncharitíria) means "congratulations".
Sounds fantastic in my HT
could make an excellent mishmash if combined with rhythmic elements from "Caravan"

I never thought that Ryan Gosling was into Gypsy Jazz guitars, let alone play for a Klezmer band.

Those violin chicks are pretty hot!
Good but lack of soul lack of Mediterranean touch lack of Greek language
Misirlou is not traditional, it was composed by Vasilis Tsitsanis.
He oído interpretaciones muy superiores a ésta.
Had to turn it off at the trombone part... Too much style for me.
That's balkan music dude.
