    I'm wondering if getting Aunt May in the milking stand for her treats might help condition Mary Jane to come closer? Even if not for milking, you can give treats and brush Aunt May... Mary Jane will see how much her Momma likes getting the spa treatments and might warm up to you more. But we never had milk cows that weren't handled pretty much from birth, so I don't know how to handle a "wild" one. LOL Our beef calves were separated from their mothers at weaning time (around four months old) and separated in a small pasture with a 2-stall barn. We would feed the calves in the stalls every day (hay and some grain or treats), and after a couple of days were able to close the stall doors behind them so they could spend the nights in a stall (one calf per stall) and be turned out to the small pasture during the day. Within about 10 days or so, I was going in the stalls with them to brush them while they ate and sit with them in the stall for a while. It eventually got where I would walk into the pasture in the afternoon to go clean the stalls (to ready them for the night) and the calves would run up for head scratches or poke their head into the stall door opening while I was cleaning. I wish y'all the best of luck with gentling Mary Jane!

    Hello Mike and Lacey and family thanks for sharing.. was pretty funny watching Mary Jane chasing the cat around like hey come play with me😊.. .
    temporary catch pin for calves and baby horses.. by with a couple of portable cow panels..when they get into the corner I would make a v and shut them up to be able to capture them.. they're easy to work with because they're and you could alwaysreuse them and they're not that heavy and bulky to move around..
    Shalom beautiful family keep you uplifted in prayer❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

    ✳️Random Question Ahead, for anyone who can speak to it:
    Do you know of homesteaders that aren't comfortable raising animals for processing or just uncomfortable with processing themselves? My purpose for asking is to learn if it's acceptable to offer something for barter, and what might be worth bartering for processed- 10 whole chickens and 1/4 of a cow's beef (if its even measured in that way)? Thank you very much.

    • @k-sell4065
      @k-sell4065 Месяц назад +1

      I have one as well😊 I’ve had not problem with a salt rock that just sits there collecting dust for those who don’t clean them . Then than that they do deteriorate over time depending on how high of humidity circulating your house/ for those who don’t understand humidity it’s water vapor that lingers In the air😊 too much of it causes mold and mildew. Main places to find it is around the toilet, bathroom sink and kitchen sink. Any place where moisture is present and sits if not cleaned properly 😊 this memo is for all you nasty folks that think they house/ kitchen is clean😊 that’s why you don’t eat at everyone’s house even if they offer unless you know them😊no shade thrown.just an awakening 😊
