adding *throat lozenges* to my bag for every future magiccon. shoutout to infinitokens for reminding me (again) in chicago of how useful they are, especially because all these events are in dry places and we're yelling at each other for three straight days and nights.
Chicago will be my 2nd Con. Super sad that you won't be there, Tori (I hope your dog will be okay!) I saw you across the hall at Minneapolis but missed my opportunity to come say hi. Looking forward to seeing Lua again (and hopefully getting in a game of cedh!)
I want to say this is my second MTG event but my first MagicCon. Thank you so much for doing this podcast to inform people one what to experience at this upcoming event. I'm so damn excited about this!!! I hope to meet you ladies so you can sign my MagicCon 2024 playmat
Fri. is for Game Knight Live and The House of Clue Party but in the morning I was planning on getting my playmat signed by creators that I meet thoughout the weekend. Hoping to play some games with creators and meet new people. I'm excited for this experience. I was afraid that it was all going to be overwhelming but after watching your guys podcast, I have a lot focus mindset. So thank you so much for doing that. Sorry Tori won't be able to make it. @@scrybabies
There’s honestly so much to do solo! I (Lua) have walked around solo for like 3 hours and within that time I shopped, got stuff signed by artists and checked out events! :) you’ll have a lot to do
People in my friend group often communicate with Slack, but sometimes it's hard to get great cell signal in a crowded con --- so for Vegas we set up a group text thread ahead of time. SMS usually gets through even when other stuff is slow. Also, all the content creators/personalities that I met in Vegas were so very nice and gracious. Like, don't interrupt when they're clearly trying to eat breakfast in the hotel or whatever, but they are happy to take a picture or sign something in the convention center. And the costume contest was amazing. Have fun and don't forget your chapstik.
If you plan on playing magic all day.......make sure you have enough water and food to stay topped off. and you'll still be mentally drained if you play 10 hours.
While Chicago isn’t feasible for me, it would be nice if there were events in other places. It does feel like WOTC ignores everywhere in between the East coast and Las Vegas. This event in Chicago has the same energy as “See? We don’t ignore yall. We’ll be back in a decade.”
@@scrybabies yeah… that still excludes the southern states. I’ve been digging for events even relatively close to me. Star City Games has something in Dallas. And they give such short time frames to sign up. Even someone that could afford it, but needs to give their job sufficient notice for PTO… But, I’m in the Houston metro area. It’d be nice if something actually came down here. Or even New Orleans. We have so many events that cater to the toxic side of the MTG community. Just saying. I do really appreciate your response.
@@nickintexasI think the closest you may get right now is SCG con but if you’re looking for another event closer I believe Galaxy Con has a whole TCG area, events and tournaments with like 40k in prizing that they’re working on. They did tx last year so potentially will be back I’m unsure.
An event in Texas for Outlaws of Thunder Junction would have been dope. Houston is a really easy area to host major events with the area being a logistics hub. If there were to be a Southern city to get a MagicCon my money would be on either Atlanta or Orlando.@@nickintexas
@3:29 dont give WotC too many smart ideas of how they can make their product more accessible to new market places. You wouldnt want Hasbro to have a positive P/E (they are still down 9.33% for last 1 year and down 40.72% for last 5 years)(checked based on end of trading for 14 Feb 2024) lol
Can't live life in fear, amigo. Every country has bad faith actors but it would be nice if there were some more anti-gun violence legislation for sure.

We had an event in Minneapolis last year I think a west coast, east coast, Midwest and 1-2 international every year would be ideal.

To bad they only had a limited amount of badges to even get in. Way to many people can't get into the event
Question, who is feeling safe going to usa cons where we have mass shootings like one would go to the super market....
