  • LITTLE WHITE 1.5
Passing through White Salmon on my way south from the Stikine, despite levels likely being low its hard to resist getting on the water in some way. Unfortunately I couldn't go to the Truss because at this time the Clutch was still under wraps, so Little White was the only option. For a moment I thought I wouldn't be able to convince someone to go but luckily Rafa was down to rally. It was by far the lowest I have done it, and it was hilarious out there. Not a lot of room to make it through the slots, but still some satisfying moves out there. Worth it.
    RIVER : Little White

Love that you just love doing this. Most people don't still have the same passion but yours never seems to lessen. I don't think I have seen Rafa since the mighty duo fun. Thanks for taking us along.

Low is good for a young man with a prospective family, we hope for, and we need more Jacksons!
I started at about that level in the mid 90's, only to learn Jay Kincaid and Brian Tooley had run it at 4, later that Fall with some rain.. Wow!
Now yall ran it at 6, no thanks. You are a treasure, Dane. The GOAT So glad to see you are stepping back a bit, after losing Bren. When we lost Bill Bowie, ie, Bowie's Hotel, on Silver Creek in Rannier NP in a waterfall log jam, all my gang took a giant step back.
Nothing left to prove, Dane and RIP Bren. We need more Jacksons! Forever the GOAT, nothing left to prove. I hope yall made it through Helene ok.
Watch my family cabin we bought in the 70's and sold 2 years ago. Drains Mt Mitchell, the highest point, east of the Rockies. The most devastating floodwaters, of the App's. The guy who bought it from us is a glass blower, lost everything. I spent months in this place, every year. Our family cabin for over 50 years, completely gone. Breaks my heart. I urge everyone to watch this to gain an understanding of how bad it was for some people .Lost everything, in just a few hours.

I tried getting into this, but couldn't get the roll down. One of my favorite doom break channels.

So this is the kind of level Irish kayakers have no choice but to paddle all the time. We call that low.....but not dog low

I'm curious if you have run the Salmon River Canyon, the Salmon River that flows into the Sandy? I've not managed to find a video. I also wonder why I don't see folks run the section of the Upper McKenzie which includes Sahalie and Koosah? I've walked almost that entire section of the McKenzie and it's well beyond my abilities, but it doesn't seem as though it would be beyond yours? I love Sahalie, it's my favorite place in the world. I've watched you and Bren run it several times, Shannon Carroll too!

I am absolutely shocked by the amount of skip the clutch has. it seems to just glide across the water forever. how did jackson kayak even make that possible

I know, its so glorious. Just a combination of the wider planing surface area on the hull, good rocker profile, and less stern rocker
